CH 10: So, You Think You Can Perform

"Yeah, but when Mei gets her place, someone has to hook up her phone... " Daveris starts counting on her fingers, in a flakey way, "her cable... Her internet... he electricity... her visa... her future boyfriend..." Throwing her hands up she says. "I just don't know anyone else more capable

It is at this point the Mei does turn a nice shade of pink as she blushes completely. Especially after Daveris drops the hint of boyfriend. What is she up to here. I mean I can say I could definitely use another friend. But a boyfriend. One I am not sure he even looks at me that way. And what does he mean people my own age! she thinks to herself.

"Still think you are a little minx" She tells Daveris in Japanese while sticking out her tongue before she switches back to English. "Actually Kendall I will admit I could use some help here in town. Especially to find a condo or house cause I really have no idea what I am doing on that front." She is surprised that this point that Daveris did not push her forward or step back when she spoke.

Kendall says, "umm, well most of that stuff is a piece of cake. Electricity, you'll need the electric company, visa I think is the government if you mean to be able to live here, If you mean the credit card, then any bank will do. I'll help you where I can Mei. You too Daveris. Working all over I can tell you which places to look at, and which to stay away from.

He purposefully doesn't address the boyfriend thing Daveris mentioned, after all Kendall is 35 and these girls couldn't be more than 25, and thats being generous.

Deep in her head Mei is thankful that Kendall did not push the envelope by mentioning the boyfriend thing. "I personally think that she is speaking of the bank variety and not the citizenship type. No I just think she is trying to get rid of me for a bit or something. Either way if I get out of here it would be awesome. Daveris, so far as I know from earlier discussions lives here. But whatever you think. But if that is the case what time are you done here?"

[Dome]

"Ladies, I'm not really much company. You would have a much better time on your own trust me. I can recommend some restaurants around if you like though."

"OK, both of you need to spazz a little less." Daveris sighs. "You recommend a place, and we'll meet you here after your shift. Alright?"

"Actually Kendall I will admit I have a touchy subject I could talk about in a more, non-here environment. When I was interviewed by the police they gave me this card and suggested I call and I am not sure why." With that Mei reaches in to her little sachet purse and pulls the Centurions card that the officer gave her out to show him. After she is sure he took a peek at it she will pull it back and let Daveris see it as well, although she is sure she mentioned it to her.

"Besides who would not want to be seen with two dancers." She smiles giving a wink. But also wishes at this point that Daveris knew that she did not eat food generally. Actually if they do go to dinner she may indulge and just accept the regrets later for it.

[Dome]

Kendall glances at the card and remembers his run in with the Centurions, as well as his conversation with the guy behind the curtain. He says, "well what kind of food do you two like? Or would just prefer a place where we can keep a low profile and be left alone? I think I know a little about what you want to talk about, and a low profile would be best I think, but up to you girls."
