CH 10: So, You Think You Can Perform

Mei gets ready and on stage for the broadway round and does her best to pull it off perfectly.

Kendall finds, after a second, that the connections are now up and running, and just need to be monitored.

While Mei has little trouble with the dandce routine, Daveris, and a lot of others seemed to be struggling. Next, though, was to learn the chorus song itself.

Mei goes through the chourus a couple times in her head before everyone is ready to go. And as usual she preforms it as if her career depends on it even if she fails she will still give it her all!

While Mei is focused on dancing, Kendall hears a rather detatched "pssst" coming from behind him.

Kendall turns around and looks for the noise he just heard.

Following the voice leads him behind a curtain, where that vigilante, the one in a snazzy black and red outfit, that had led Kendall to the cops, that guy, was standing there. "Sorry for the pause.," he said after a pause. "But the GM wanted to reintroduce me. Wait, where's the Australian accent? Oh, here it is. Crikey."

"Look, about the cops, nothing personal, but Dorsette is becoming too important an NPC in the GM's ideas for his plan to go without the other heroes noticing. Unless you want the whole gig to go wonkers. By the way, her? Mei? She'll need your help to steer clear of the Centurions." He points. "Look, the GM's about to describe her performance."

(Mei)
As the Gershwin chorus line plays itself out, Mei's group of 6 perform in front of the judges. She can see some of them taking notes. She can also notice herself far ahead of her group for skill, though a couple are keeping pace with her.

Mei stands there in anticipation to here exactly what the judges have to say about her. In her heart she hopes Daveris makes it through but is not sure what will happen especially since she could tell that Daveris was struggling.

[Dome]

Kendall's Face turns to a grimace as he sees the guy that got him into all this trouble, "you Son of a b.... You better be glad there are people around. Do you realize how much trouble you put me through. I hear there is a reward for information about you, maybe I should just turn you in. I'm sure if I did, some how you would just get away though."

Kendall turns to look at the girl that was pointed out, "the Centurions? you mean that ragtag group that pulled that trap on me? Not sure those guys could find their butts with both hands. They only got me because I walked right into it. She'll be fine."

"Oh, woe is me. I'm gainfully employed and had a short run-in with the cops that didn't result in any charges. My life is so hard." Charger said, mocking Kendall. "Get over it."

"Centurions are a whole division of the cops, and not just a small group of yahoos. And they know about her." He adds. "It'll only be a matter of time before they figure out what she can do and try and recruit her. And you know where she'll go if she starts resisting, then."

[Dome]

Kendall restrains himself from reaching out and trying out his grip on this guys neck. He says, "what would you like me to do about it? I'm on the radar with these yahoo's already. She hangs out with me, she can be too. Besides I still have to get that job for Dorsett done so that he and I are square. I'm sure the kid is nice, but I do my best work alone."

"If I did my best work alone." Charger answered. "I wouldn't have to deal with moody engineers. Look, just remind her to keep on the low-down, is all. Be a mentor type, since she's already looking to you for advice. I'm not asking you to erase the CSPD's file on her... though it would help. Anyways, that's all."

(Mei)

"Mei Li." Says the first judge. "You have been doing quite spectacularly throughout thi round. I wouldn't be suprised if you went all the way. Good luck on the next round!"

Mei holds back her excitement for only a second before she jumps up and down to the good news she just received. She holds herself almost immediately upon waiting to here what Daveris's fate is.

She walks off the stage (OOC - guessing this is what they expect, seeing wife watches all those shows, le' sigh) and heads toward the engineering station to wait for her friend so she can either congratulate or console her friend. She does not quite reach the engineer but stops 80% of the way there and turns and waits!

"Why should I do anything you ask of me? I have no idea who you are and what your real purpose is."

Taking a moment to look at the proceedings, he adds, "the kid looks to be doing fine on her own. She doesn't need me."

Daveris hadn't done as well as Mei, but she wasn't cut. She was going to have to do another solo before the next round.

"If you know what I was up to, you'ld be the GM." Charger says. "Or better than him. It's not like he keeps notes. Anyways, she may not need you now, but she will in the future. Centurions aren't for everyone, but they're a pack of dingos when someone tries to skip out."

Mei knowing she will be on pins and needles till Daveris performs heads all the way back to the Engineer Kendall. It is the only person otherwise that she has met down here and starts to speak as she moves up to Kendall.

"That was soo cool I just hope Daveris gets through, that would be soo cool too. I just wish I could go backstage to help her on. Oh man this is soo cool and such an energy rush, what do you think Kendall?"
