Think the popular TV show. CS Business folks campaigned and got the finals there. Among them, a newcomer to the local scene, Mei...
During the auditions, she had scored high, in both the song and dance routines, keeping her in for the top 100.
Filming of that was about to begin...

Mei is both happy and very excited at this point. She knows full well at this point that she would have made both of her mothers very proud. She goes through her preparation routines of stretches and simple moves awaiting her chance.

Even by the way Mei had been prepping, the others in the theatre figured her to be a favourite. And Mei could tell.
Just as the filming director waved to the announcers that the camera was rolling, there was some explosion above the stage that sent the room into chaos. Not least because the ceilling was groaning like it was about to collapse.

She looks around and sighs thinking to herself *What is it that stage sets have against me, I mean come on now.*
She then sighs audibly and throws a max sized force field around the stage area to protect all she can. Then she braces for the inevitable follow up to this.

The stage cleared, protected for a few moments by Mei's shield. But, the sheer weight of concrete and steel overpowered the shield, crashing onto the empty stage.
"What is this?" Someone yelled.
"Could it be the Phantom?" Someone answered.
"Phantom of the Opera, not talent show..." A third voice said, as they rushed out.

Mei follows one of the individuals out catching up to them as quick as possible.
"Excuse me. What do you mean the phantom? Are we talking that this is happening all over or are you just saying that. I mean wow lucky no one was hurt, or I hope no one was hurt at least."

Milling in the crowd, person 1 says "Well, it's like some kind story about the theatre, like it's haunted."
"They almost didn't want to have it here." Said person 2. "I heard the janitor saying to one of the flm crew he was suprised they took this theatre."

"Wow that would be so cool to see, but really ghosts? You know I soo have to go check this out."
Mei then heads back in to see if she can gather any info about what caused the ceiling to cave in.
(If she does not see anyone in the immediate area she will fly up to the ceiling to see if she can see anything. If she does she will start asking the people in there if they had seen anything. She is not above using her charms to help her out on this either)

"Ghosts are real." Says Person 2. "My brother believes in them, so much..."
"Oh, wow." Says person 1. "That's cool. Does he, like Ouija board and everything?..."
And so on...
Mei didn't really see anything useful in the theatre, or on the stage. The fire department came too soon, and she didn't get a chance to check the structure. It seemed the ceiling had fallen in, but the exterior roof hadn't, so repairs wouldn't be too bad.

Mei decides to stick around and find out any other info that she can. She is pretty sure it could not be ghosts unless ghosts had learned to set explosives, or whatever the sound was that initially set it off.
She then approaches the closest police officer or fireman that is visibly in charge and does her best to look pretty for this part.

"Yes sir. Zi Mei is my name but on my license is Kristi Dryden. I am staying at the hotel the contest put us up in as I am new too town and have not had time to look for a place. By the way do you know of any places that are for rent or to buy, I received a small inheritance upon both of my mothers deaths and after the contest pending if I win or not I will most likely either way be staying here."
She then waits there for the waved over police officer to arrive.

The officer comes in a couple of seconds. "Did you see what happened?" He asks Mei, cluing in quickly to why he was there.

"Well Mr. Officer, I did not see so much as hear. I was about to go on to the stage when I heard what sounded like an explosion. When I looked around the corner the ceiling was collapsing down. I am actually suprised that everyone seemed to get out ok! Then I came out here and am meeting with you now. If you need any other info I will be staying at the hotel tonight, or here is my cell phone number just in case I go somewhere today."
She then hands over the rest of her information and heads away from the scene heading towards one of the other female performers.
"Well this puts a damper on performing toda. I Might as well go apartment hunting and shopping while they figure out what to do with the show. Is there any shopping places around here, perhaps one with a real estate outlet?"
