Chapter 69: Meet the Parents: Hawaii Edition

[Dome]

Isamu frowns. "I was afraid of that. I am sure someone was there. Before you withdraw please do a sweep of the area. I must acompany my...colleague to the hospital. Thank you <sergeant> (or whatever rank the soldier is.)"

He looks at Ashley's father, "as soon as she wakes I will call you. I am sorry the evening turned out this way."

He approaches the paramedic as they load Ashley and heads for the back of the ambulance to ride with Ashley. He thinks, 'I should have killed Osaku. Now he may come back'

[dakota]

It was a quiet and somewhat awkward ambulance ride. Ashley was monitored and given oxygen, but the attendant could do little else for her. Just as they turned into the hospital, she began to groan and struggle against her restraints somewhat, which made her groans sound more animalistic than human.

[Dome]

Isamu reaches over and says "Ashley it is ok, you will be alright. I am right here with you."

He motions to the medics to give Ashley some room. He says, "give her some space please. She does not like to be confined."

[dakota]

Ashley does not respond, but continues to struggle against the stretchers restraints. The noises coming from her Isamu knows are Kodiaks and that there is not much time.

"What the hell is going on?" The paramedic replied, definitely shaken. There was nowhere for him to give her room in the confined space of the ambulance. He instead leaned to shout to his partner,"Hey! I think she's going into seizures!"

The ambulance started to slow down.

[Dome]

Isamu knows things are about to get worse. He yells, "STOP THE VEHICLE RIGHT NOW AND EVERYONE OUT."
He then pushes the medics towards the doors and puts himself between them and Ashley. He turns to stone then looks back at the medics (if they are still inside) "NOW!"

[dakota]

The ambulance did indeed pull over, but the paramedics did not seem to understand," Look, I know your some kind of special agents, but she needs our help here. Move and let us tend to her before she injures herself."

Ashley began to thrash against her restraints when she tried to sit up, held back by the shoulder straps when her eyes shot open. But Isamu had seen the stare before. It was not Ashley''s, it was her alter egos.

[Dome]

Isamu shakes his head. In his stone form, his face a mask of what may be granite. He says, "it is too late. Get out NOW," he yells adding some of his Kaijatsu tenor to the command. His voice gravely and deep. He pushes on the closest one towards the door.

Turning back towards Ashley he says, "Kodiak everything is OK. We are just trying to help you. I will die before I let anything happen to Ashley. You know that much. Please calm and know I will protect you."

His hope is to buy time until the paramedics get out.

[dakota]

Ashley's expression was what looked like anger at first, but Isamu quickly realized was pain. "I need to get out of here. I need to heal. Where is Osaku?" She snarled. She was struggling against her buckles, but so far was unable to free herself.

[Dome]

"Osaku is gone. He escaped. He hurt you. You were unconscious. I did not know what else to do. If you calm down we can get you out of here, but you must calm," he says, unsure about her response.

[dakota]

"He... I...," Ashley started, still straining against her restrains but calming down. " Is, I don't remember much that happened since I got up from the supper table, everything is sort of hazy. Tell me everything please."

She unfastened her her straps but as she sat up to get the one across her legs, she clutched her chest and stomach while crying out in agony. as she did, Isamu could see three of her symbiotes suddenly head that way. "Oh god it hurts!" she sobbed.

"We can help her." The paramedic behind Isamu said. "if you let me do my job."

[Dome]

With Ashley up and talking, Isamu reverts to his normal human form. He says to her, "I will tell you everything soon."

He watches the symbiotes head down her body towards where he knew the body was. He frowns and looks back at the paramedic then at Ashley. He moves aside and says, "do what you can, however if I tell you to move, you must."

HE looks at Ashley and takes her hand, "Ashley you have to try and remain calm. The paramedics are going to try and help, however they cannot if Kodiak surfaces. I am here and will not let anything happen to you, I assure you," the concern and care evident in his voice.

[dakota]

One of the paramedics looked at Isamu and pointed to the bucket seat at the head of the stretcher, "Sit there and you can comfort her while we help her."

The other medic dug into one of their bags and produced a large syringe, but Ashley's hand shot up and grabbed the medic by the wrist, " No drugs until I know if I'm pregnant."

"Ow. Dammit, let go before you break my wrist lady." The paramedic pleaded, dropping to one knee.

[Dome]

Isamu reaches out and touches Ashley's hand, "I told them you may be pregnant, they will take every precaution. Allow him to work."

Isamu then looks at the paramedic, with a look that says, 'I warned you,'. He says, "she is nervous. She meant you no harm.

[dakota]

Ashley let the paramedic go, who pulled away quickly. She closed her eyes and sighed," I don't need any help, my bug collection is handling things. Slowly."

"Did she say bugs? Fancy ID or not, what the hell is going on here?" The paramedic said.

[Dome]

Isamu sighs, he had warned them not to ask questions, "we are not your normal agency as I am sure you can tell by my changing into a stone monster. I applaud you for not reacting to that by the way. We have special...uh circumstances you could say, that allow us to handle situations normal law enforcement could not."

He looks at Ashley, "I was concerned Osaku seemed to be able to exert some form of control over you. I had to stop him for the control to end. However he was able to slip away."

He looks at her, "I thought I was going to lose you."
