As they walked away, Dexy called after Ashley and Alice, sounding genuinely concerned. " So, what's her story? Maria I mean. I know what she's going through, but there's more, isn't there?"
Ashley looked at Alice and spoke lowly. " You're the mindreader, is their more there or has she just been on the streets too long?"
" Are you kidding? The doc has always treated us as equals." Felicia argued as they headed towards the car. "And now you try to tell me she used to use our kind as playtoys? You've got to be wrong. And what do you mean Alice can read minds? I thought she was a shapeshifter? Maybe we better find first, we can go home later." Her tone betraying she's in no hurry to go back.

Alice shrugs and replies in a low voice to Ashley, "She was crying out for Tyler to help her. She's really scared of her new power and is afraid she'll hurt someone by accident." ALice pauses and looks uncomfortable by the thought of being a mindreader "I think."
Turning to Dexy, Alice says "I don't know. She really didn't want our friend to come here and keeps referring to someone named 'Madam'. I don't know who that is or why Maria is afraid of her. I just met Maria a couple of days ago." Glancing at Sparks, she adds "I guess we have to carry her back to the car. Who wants to do that?"

William looks like he's dead certain. Putting his fingers to his mouth, he lets out a shrill, loud whistle that can be heard for the garage and the neighbouring alley. After a second he responds.
"You're letting the facts get ahead of you, Felicia." William answers. "And you're letting your feelings hold you behind."
He lets out a second whistle.
"I suggest you not do that."
Leaning against the car, he waits to see who heard him.

Alice's head jerks up when she's hears the two sharp whistles. "Do you think that's William?" she asks Ashley. "I can go and check to see if that is him." Alice starts to head in the direction of the whistling.

" I'm pregnant, I'm entitled to to be a bit on the brash side." Felicia replied with a smirk as she opened the door and sat down. " So if the others are here, then what?"
" I don't blame her for not wanting anyone to go in there. I have the same feeling." Dexy replied. She bent down and picked MAria up effortlessly. " Let me help, it's her fault she came back here anyways, then I'll split and you can meet up with your friends."
Ashley shrugged. " Okay by me, I'd have to change again to carry her like that."

"Well, if they are here, then we'll meet up with them. Tell them what I know about the clinic. And talk with Alice and Maria. I get the impression they're both getting new powers right now." William answers, leaning casually against the car to see who's coming.

Alice walks out of the alley and spots William and Felicia. Going over to Will and Felicia, she says "We found Sparks and she's ok, except she fainted. The new girl, Dexy is carrying her over here with Ashley." Turning to Felicia, she asks "Are you ok? Are you sick? Is that why you wanted to go to the doctor?"

"We were just checking the place out." Says William, before Fel could pipe in. "And Maria's concerns are valid. I know the doctor in there. Micheline Delacoeur. That's her name. She was a phsycian, and an early version of the modern biochemist. Serious DNA-twisting stuff. And, she's come here after her project was cancelled." William says, looking between the two.
"Madamme Pysicienne Micheline Delacour." He muses. "She was rather insistent on using a formal title." He says.
Suddenly he looks up. Flames, and, looks at the clinic. Then, just as suddenly deflames.
Turning to Felicia, he says "I want everyone away from here. Brethren, cops, civilians, yourselves. Everyone." He says in a firm voice. "I want no questions and no arguements." He says, cutting them off. "Someone is about to die, and I'ld rather it not be anyone that doesn't need to. Go."
And, with that, he starts and turns towards the clinic again, tossing Fel the car keys as an afterthought.

*as her young mind struggles witth the repressed memories .. either inflicted upon her or by her own design, no one will ever know .. yet. She starts to stir and mumbles 'Ty .. keep them away .. stop the whispers .. stop the pain ... '
*then the gold eyes open and focus on dexy's face and insteead of flinching buries her face into her shoulder and starts sobbing and whispers between the tears 'i can't remember .. i can't .. sorry .. oh god .. put me down .. its gonna .. ' *feeling the telltale tingling that seems to preceed the electrical field bursting free to arc about onto everyone and everything about her ... *

Though her face is changed, Will can recognize Dexy's voice. " You're still an ass, Agent Black. You destroy that place and MAria and I will never find out what they did to us. but then you get off on death and destruction don't you? "
Felicia, catching the keys, interjected. " You're out of place, lady."
" Stay out of it, Fel. They've got history." Ashley replied.
Felicia nodded, then turned to Alice. " I'll tell you about it later, okay?"
As the electrical field started to encompass them, Dexy on held on tighter. " Let it out, you won't hurt me." she looked up at the others. " I don't know how much of this I can absorb. Better stand back." A pair of tenticles unfurled from her wrists and wrapped around the pair of them loosely.

William stops, and looks at Maria and Dex. "That explains something." He says. "But, I'm not an agent anymore, I'm an AWOL vacationing Colonel who's an unauthourized insurgent on Allied land. But thanks for not calling me Granpa." He says, with a sidelong glance to the others.
"And, if you want answers as to what happened, now's the time. Bring her with us." He says, pointing at Maria. And then continues heading for the clinic. "Make sure the Doctor doesn't go out the front door." He says to Felicia, Ashley and Alice.

Alice nods at William looking a bit nervous. As William heads for the door, she looks at Felicia and Ashley and asks "What are we supposed to do? What do you guys normally do in situations like this?"

" Like hell I will." Daxy snapped, the elecrical field dancing over the two of them. " I don't take orders from you."
" She's worse than me. I think I'm gonna like her." Felicia whispered to Alice, motioning towards Dexy. She spoke up a bit. " We don't normally end up in situations like this. We just crash the door ourselves most of the time."
When the three rounded the corner to the front of the building, Dr. Reno had already made her way out and was getting into her Porsche. She saw the three approaching and leaned in the car for a moment with her breifcase and came out with a silenced pistol. She never said a word as she leveled the weapon. causing it to cough three times.
Being more familiar with being shot at, Ashley and Felicia ducked for cover, but before Alice could react, she saw something spark off the pavement in front of her before something like a sledgehammer slammed into her stomach. It knocked her down, and the slam was quickly replaced by an odd warm sensation. She heard Felicia shout. " Ash, Alice is hit. Quick, we gotta get her to a doctor."
" But that was the doctor ." Ashley snapped as the Porsche sped away wildly. " I'll get Will, he'll know what to do."
Felicia knelt next to Alice, tears forming in the corners of her eyes as she pressed down on the wound. " You'll be okay." She said lowly, not sounding very confident.

Alice falls to the ground as pain radiates through her body. She puts a hand to her stomach and is shocked to see it covered in blood. She looks at Felicia and says in a shaky voice "Getting shot hurts a lot more than indicated in the movies"
As Felicia covers her wound, Alice tries to hear what Felicia is thinking and says "You think I'm going to die, don't you?" She convulses in pain and cries out a little. She looks scared as she says "I don't want to die!" She lays there, wondering if she would survive this as she lay on the sidewalk, and is surprised to find she wants to go to sleep and starts to close her eyes

Upon hearing what's just happened, William points an angry finger at Dexy and flies at top speed towards the front of the building. "Felicia, did you get the plate numbers of the porche?" He says, looking down on Alice. "Let's get her inside." He says, heading for the door of the clinic.
