"They're connected, and I never said MacCotler was in charge." He grins. "I know Malloy'll get tired of dancing around me, that's for sure. But, we shall have to see. After we set up base, I want to draw MacCotler out. See what he's up to."
William lets Tyler leave. "Hollar in pain if you need back-up." He calls as Tyler leaves.

Alice smiles as she takes the keys from Jason and nods. "Well, if I have to," she says, pretending to be disapointed, but the twinkle in her eye and huge grin show Jason that she's just being silly.
"I'll be right back." She tells Jason and then heads out to the car and puts the bag of clothes and her toiletries in the trunk. She then heads back to the mall and gives the keys back to Jason. Still grinning, she says "OK, time to go see a movie!"

Jason flinched when she slammed the trunk, but he never said anything as he stuck the keys in his coat pocket and turned and rolled along side her. When they got to the ticket counter after a short wait in line, he laid the money for the tickets on the counter and rolled to the concession stand. " Two for whatever the lady wants to see, provided it's not some sob story."
" Don't worry, you'll know when I tell her. So will the rest of the glades." Tyler replied as he headed towards the lodge, leaving Will alone on the dock.
Dexy shrugged. " I don't know about a necklace, I've never seen Tony wear one. Maybe he did back then. Once we've got things settled here, I plan on at least trying to go home, of course I'd take you. They might accept you better if we go together and tell them what happened. worst case, they disown me and we're both outcasts." She grinned.
" And odds are, whoever this Auntie of yours was in on the whole scheme and she raised you so you wouldn't find out the truth. I bet if you could remember, you could even pick out things that gave away she was hired to raise you."

Alice grins at Jason and teases "Aw, didn't you say you wanted to see Brokeback Mountain?" She winks at him and glances at the movie selections. "Umm.. how about that one?" She points at the X-Men 3 movie. "That might be fun to watch." The girl working at the counter nods and prints out 2 tickets and gives Jason the change. They then head off to find the theatre.

Jason rolled his eyes with a smirk. " I paid to see a bunch of metas try to save a world that doesn't want them. Sounds like deja vu to me, but at least there won't be any gay cowboys." He let her lead as they found the right cinema and took a seat near the aisle so he could get his chair out of the way. There were sixty or so other people in the theatre, mostly kids and their parents, and everyone was seated spread out. Waiting for the previews to start, Jas glanced over at her. " so what's the story with you and Will? He kinda gave me an odd look when I told him and Ty we were going out tonight." He shrugged. " Maybe I'm just reading too much into it."

Alice blinks in surprise and can't hide her expression after Jason asked her about Will. Staring at her hands, she says "It..It's complicated." Alice falls quiet for a few minutes, trying to decide if she should tell Jason or not. She glances around the theatre to see if anyone was paying attention to them. Finally, she says "When.. when I got hurt before, and he discovered I could heal quickly, he acted funny. I.. I asked him if my gran had that ability too and he wouldn't answer. Then when we got back to the cottage, he pulled me aside and told me that he and my gran were... close during the war." She falls quiet before saying "He thinks we're related.. him and I, I mean." She looks at Jason and says "He's my grandfather, Jason." Alice then falls quiet, waiting for Jason's reaction.

" well .. i remember a story, something about a princess in a castle far away. then an angry person came and stole her away. mom told me that someone came and rescued her. said someone named Hor .. Hor-something would always watch and protect the princess. when i was in the dark, when it was a bad hurting time .. i would think i was going to be saved by this Hor-person. it never happened, so i guess it was a lie mom told me" .. *looks up at Dexy for a moment and then shrugs*
"hey .. don't worry about it. i'm remembering more than i want to just now. auntie Dare-something Grady? .. lived by train tracks and a green river. there was a basement she kept me for a while, when i woke up there. i know she was getting paid, heard one of the guys, Ca .. no it .. it was Franco, stop by and ask about the 'kids' .. so i don't know if it was me and the others i heard or her own kids. *looks at her toes* 'you were screaming in pain .. why? i think i woke up, but i can't remember a lot. .. do the words *says a string of words* mean anything to you?
*stays still .. dark hands rubbing at the temples as she speaks quietly. more and more of the self preservation mode releasing the memories, now as Maria knows [or assumes] she's safe. 'i don't think they'll want me. i'ld blow stuff up if i wasn't thinking aobut lifting it to sell.' *slight snort of dry humor at that comment*

William sighs, and figures he needs to draw all this out. Reno worked with the Brethren. Wraith worked with Dmitri for Mara. MacCotler worked with the vice-mayor. The vice-mayor with Wraith. Reno wants Maria back. Dexandra was affected by Reno, but not hunted. The Brethren chase Maria on Reno's orders. Wraith influences Mara to use myself and Felicia. Gets Maria instead. Wraith guns down the SCRET, but only to remove them and keep control. The Wraith for the Vice-Mayor to keep MacCotler. Jason and MacCotler through the suit. Reno meets the mobs to broker acceptance of this. The mobs, Reno, MacColter, the Vice-Mayor, the Brethren, Wraith and his gang. BUt these were all movers and shalers. Clearly, Wraith, the new Mayor and Reno were the second tier, but none of them orchestrated this. Reno wasn't one to call attaention to herself, the Vice-Mayor was too bureaucratic, and happying in his position, and Wraith, well, 6 months in a dank hole, half dead, with little food does not a stable leader make.
"Who's really incharge, here?" He muses, looking at the empty space on top of the pyramid.
