The others filed in, with Tyler bringing up the last. The room was crowded, but everyone managed to find a seat. Once people were settled, Tyler spoke up. " Alright folks, we're in a mess here. We have to figure this out before we figure out where to go from here. Will, you're the expert. You want to start?"
Both Trevor and Felicia scoffed lightly, but neither elaborated at Ty's glare.

"Well, to sum it up, we're all on borrowed time, now. And, while it may seem like I'm boasting, you're lucky to have me. I'm the one they're really after. You all have the good fortune to being relatively incidental. However, that doesn't mean you're safer without me, because I'm also the only one in the room that has been through situations like this before."
William takes Eric's undrunk water and has a sip, before giving it back.
"This is a coup, the likes of which has never occured in North America in your lifetimes, but that do happen all around the world. From what I can piece together, Miami's former vice-mayor has been thrust into the limelight, where he immediately creates this new "control" squad made of undesirables and formerly underground mutant soldiers of fortune, to "police" the mutant situation. At the same time, the local SCRET is gunned down. By Wraith, the fellow at the warehouse today."
William rubs the bridge of his nose, then takes another drink. "Thanks." he says to Eric.
"Basically, the whole world is against us, and a few are taking the opportunity of the chaos to further their own goals. Including new mob deals, and getting back old quarries, like Maria here." He pauses for a second. "Oh, and in case none of you have put it together, Maria was part of some mutant experiment, that's why she disappeared, changed suddenly, and doesn't remember any of it. Standard fair with unsanctioned projects."
William stares for a moment at Maria, his eyes in thought, with a dismissive gesture.
"I would still stick with the power-play theory, even if there are multiple players."
"Now, what has that got to do with all of us, here? Well, we're the only ones in a position to do anything about it. It also means you all have to smarten up, and start thinking more like a team, instead of a bunch of kids. Selfish ones at that." He eyes pass to Trevor, then Maria, flitting over Eric. "And that means, we all get to train. Not only to use our powers better, though you will, but also to work more effectively as a team."
William pauses, as much for affect as anything.
"We are now in a life-and-death battle for our lives. You are all here, now, which means you are all part of that battle. And I can assure you all, it's real. And, one mistake, and you'll all be dead. Act without thinking, and you will be injured, killed, or worse. Act without thought for the group, and you doom us all."
"We start tomorrow. Tyler will be working with the majority of you on the basic training. I will be spending my time with Trevor, Alice and Ashley, to ensure they have better control of the their powers."
"Unless, of course, you want a repeat of the chaos that you have only barely escaped."

Alcie sits quietly, her face a little paler than usual, as she tries to absorb what William said. Part of her couldn't believe that she was in the middlle of a fight and that she could get hurt or killed. Her life, as she knew it, was over and she wonders if she can handle what's going to happen. She places her water on the floor and hugs herself lightly, trying to stay calm.

As Will takes Erics drink from his hand Eric just watches him *the Nerve* he thinks to himself as he hands it back to Eric which accepts it with a smile. "Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks," Eric says saractically. As will begins to talk Eric listens to what he has to say and again Will takes his water. Eric allows it again and just watches as he sips it acting as though all his attention is on the glass of water. As Will finsishes he speach Eric holds out his hand. "Are you done with my life juice? I know you want to drink from my glass of knowledge, but next time I'll offer." With that Eric takes back his glass from Will "Thank you."
Looking down on Al holding herself in contemplation. "Don't worry Al, its just a scare tactic. You'll be fine. No worries." He turns back to Will knowing he's going to chime in and mouths out *Hope.* Eric figures the Will knows that giving hope can be as effective as fear when motivating people.

"Scare tactic?" William says, looking at Eric. "You, child, are the perfect example of what I just explained. You resolutely refuse to accept the gravity of this situation. You could have died fighting those mercenaries on the street today. You very well might have if Wraith had not called them back. And still, you assume that I'm just calling up the Boogey Man, for fun and a power kick. Mark my words, Eric: smarten up, or you'll be the first to die." Williams eyes show no rage. In fact, there's a hint of worry and pity for Eric.
Like Eric, William knows that hope is a motivaitonal tool. Unlike Eric, however, William sees little of it in that room as it stands.

*listens quietly until her name and then the brief bit about her unknown time is mentioned and then blinks and stares with some horror. once eric a nd will have finished with the chatter, mentions 'i was an experiment? .. oh .. guess thats why the whisper man wanted me then.
*then goes quiet for about 10 seconds and then looks at trevor for another few heartbeats before standing up and staring at william.
'i don't know who the ghost man in the tunnels was, but i know he said i would make a good agent if i wasn't wanted by the cops' *then goes on to finish what happened to her in the tunnels as soon as she fled the apartment. ending with the shuddering panic she felt when the guy started to whisper and about the minor stirrings of the memories involved* 'thats all .. can't remember anymore, sorry. not a lot of help'

Alice timidly speaks up "I don't know if this is relevant," she begins "but my friend is dating this guy, Dmitri. I met him a couple of days ago, he seemed pleasant enough." She pauses before continuing "Well, I saw him today at the warehouse." Looking at William she tells him "You were talking to him. Then he flew away." Smirking, she shakes her head "When I asked him what kind of job he had, he told me it was a delivery job. Makes me wonder what he's really doing."

William pays more attention to the others and not Eric for a while, since Eric looks about ready to wet his pants from the thrill of being threatened. "Delivery job, eh?" Says William with a chuckle. "Tyler, how many delivery jobs have I sent you on?"
After a second, his tone evens out. "In any event, tomorrow training starts, and when we're ready to face the world, then we can spend more time piecing this together."

'well .. whatever. guess i wasn't much help after all, glad you're safe then ashley. don't know if i'll be staying longer than this, but at least i know you're out .. but the debt is still there, but now i owe two of you and not just one. i'll stay till my debt's paid to the two i owe.
*sitting back down, tucks one knee up to the chin and stares at the shoes she's wearing. don't know what good i'll be, but i'll take orders from ashley over anyone else *not looking at william just now* 'at least she offered me a chance, everyone else other than michael seems to think that no one is better than they are. i know i'm not better .. today proved it, but at least i tried to help everyone else. survival counts IF people work off each other, and not if you're a lone wolf. i'm a freak, i'm alone, i got friends now that don't run .. but can i count on any of you to watch my back? .. maybe two or three of you .. the rest? .. not likely
*then goes quiet again and rests the chin on the knee and listens, saying no more unless actually spoken too.

"Oh don't worry." Says William in a soothing voice. "In special cases like yours, I tend to be very hands on." He gives her shoulder light squeeze. "I'm going to teach you to use all the skills a woman such as yourself has at your disposal. Use your imagination." He says with a smile and a wink.
