Alice winces a little at Jason's tone of voice when he says "It's not like that." Her face falls as she sits, trying not to show her disapointment. 'It's not?' she thinks to herself 'but I thought earlier that he was going to... ' she shakes her head, wondering how she got such a stupid idea in her head in the first place. Of course he wasn't interested in her, she was the just the charity case he got stuck with.
Nodding at Jason, "Yes," she replies coldly "You two do seem to have a lot of history, despite what you told me to the contrary earlier." She stands up "Excuse me. I need some air." She then leaves the room, slamming the door behind her.

William looks at his glass, mentally shrugs, and pulls the whole bottle out of Tyler's reach, leaving the glass where it is. "Not much to tell. I was followed. Eric and Alice too, most likely. The way that Alice was watching the news, I think she'ld had a run-in with some police. In any event, they found the place. And it was either they focus on me, or look for all of us. Atlas seemed inordinately displeased, I doubt the poor SWAT guy's going to walk again."
William's story gets interrupted momentarily by the door slamming. "Anyways, we find Sparks, who had taken it upon herself to run away without the others, and Wraith was there. Turns out he hit the SCRET place." William half-suppresses a sneer." Or else, he wants me to think he did. He also wanted a chance to kill me. Almost had one. And he said the cops really don't like me. Which means my little plan is working so far."
Emptying the scotch into the sink, William poors a glass of water. "So, what happened with you and Felicia?"

*looks up at trevor with tortured eyes that go blank and she looks away. 'dont know what you mean. i use my power to get out of jams or to make people look somewhere else. its a case of use it or die. i made my choice. now? .. i just don't understand why i'm the one that gets bugged about what i do. and i'm sorry you had to use your powers to help me.'
*then looks back again, the face still showing the tracks of tears* 'i'm sorry for everything that happened to you before you saw me, and up till now, but i won't be sorry for you from now on. i got my own problems to figure out, and you snipping at my heels isn't gonna help me remember past whatever it is i lost'
*stands up she looks at trevor and then at the cabin 'so if its alright with you, i think i need .. i don't know what i need right now. i just can't remember what happened to me .. so excuse me if i don't say thanks for saving my head out there at the time, i was a little lost in the dark somewhere .. so thanks for saving me. if i remember anything else, i'll let you know first trevor. i owe you that much, but right now, it feels like my heads gonna blow up or off or something'
*then turns to the cabin and slowly enters it, leaving the door open behind, one hand still holding the torn fabric of the sweat pants she borrowed from alice earlier

" Alice! Wait!" Jason called after her, trying to keep up. He opened the door, and seeing she had too much of a headstart for him to catch up, he called out. " You don't understand. Ashley is the one who put me in this chair, and I have a hard time forgiving her for that, even after all this time."
Tyler clenched his teeth at the waste of good Scotch, but said nothing until Will was finished. " Luckily, everyone had their attention on going after you, so we waltzed right in and sprung Ashley without too much interference. They had her locked up to control her when she transformed, not that it did much good."
He looked at Will a moment before continuing. " Did you say Wraith? I thought he died on that fiasco to somewheres in Africa before I left SCRET. This is getting to weird. Too many of our old buddies are showing up here. Maybe you were right and there is something big shaping up." He downed his drink and grinned as he slammed his empty glass down." Guess you're gonna have to train these kids pretty quick if they're gonna survive."
Trevor turned and watched sparks start away and realized he'd come acrossed the wrong way. " Sp... Maria, I didn't mean it that way." He darted acrossed the yard and caught her just inside the doorway with a gentle hand on her shoulder to turn her around. " Look , I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It's just I hate what I've become. I was a fourth generation firefighter when I had my accident. Now, I have to spend every waking moment trying to control what I've become and for some reason, I let it out because you were in trouble." His brows furrowed as his voice lowered. " That scares me. I've never used them like that before, not on purpose. I didn't mean to take it out on you."

William sips pensively at his water. "We do. But half of them don't like me, and the other half don't trust me. And I'ld need to train ever one of them. They're all too used to thinking as one person, and not as a complete group. This will have to include you, Felicia and Ahsley as well, if she's healthy enough, since there are new people here, now."
William takes another gulp. "Thankfully, Trevor's getting used to having me around, which will help."
Seeing the interchanges out the kitchen window, William pours another glass and chugs it. "And everyone's going to have to learn to be more open about things." Leaving the glass in the sink, William heads out of the kitchen.

Alice turns towards Jason, the shock evident on her face. Before she can stop herself, she asks "What? How?" Realizing what she's asked, she shakes her head "Sorry, I know you don't like to talk about it. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to."
Alice walks over to him and slips back into the room, softly closing the door. She gives him a quick hug, and says quietly "I'm sorry for how I reacted. I didn't understand what you meant." She smirks a little "You can be very confusing sometimes, did you know that?"

'its okay trevor. life isn't fair to anyone. i recall up to when i was about 7 or 8 .. then it goes balnk until about 4 years ago. then i changed not that long ago, and too many people want to get a hold of me for different reasons, and i don't know who to trust.
'mom once said 'you are given a gift once in a lifetime, so don't squander what the gift is' .. i'm still trying to figure that one out, but at least i'm not scared or controled by what i can do. i did once when it all happened overnight, but not now. i am what i am, and i can't change it. so i learned to live with it.
*looks down at the ground to think for a moment 'back in the alley, i heard the whispering .. and all i could recall then was darkness, whispers and terror. it brought back a memory that terrifies me. *then looks up at him again, tearstreaked face that seems wiser at times than at other times* 'so, i may not understand what my mom said, but i'm not gonna let my terror control me again. i think you shouldn't either. now i think i need to apoligize to michael too, and the others. but i will say that the bootlegger tunnels are being used by people that shouldn't be using them, cause that's where i ran into the ghost man in the suit.

Tyler finished his drink and followed Will. " Trev is going to be you're biggest problem. He hates you because you're powers are similar to his and you embrace yours. We haven't even been able to get him to use them to defend himself unless he loses his temper. but you can count on me to help out and I'm sure the girls will too. I can probably talk Jason into it too, provided he and Ashley can get along. I'm pretty sure I can talk him into it."
" Sorry, I don't do it on purpose." Jason grinned, looking up at Alice. " And it's okay, I don't mind talking about what happened anymore. We were mixing it up with a couple of the Brethren one day out near the airport and this guy in a trench coat kinda showed up out of nowhere. He did something to me that negated my powers. At the same time, Ashley had thrown a guard rail at Raig and when he dodged it, I never saw it coming. It caught me from behind and severed my spine. " He explained in an almost matter of factly tone, though his eyes betrayed the pain of the memory. " I know that it wasn't her fault, and I've accepted the concequences and moved on. I just ... Ashley and I have different ways to look at things."
Trevor listened to Sparks, letting her get things off her chest before wiping her cheeks with his finger. " You can trust us. Whoever this Madam is that wants you will have to go through the rest of us first." He smiled slightly. " And thanks, though I figured I'd be getting advice from either Will or Ty. Maybe we'll talk later after you've had a chance to make your apology, and you should tell Ty and Will about that ghost guy." He let the door go shut and walked back outside, taking a seat on a cut down stump.

"Well, thankfully, we won't have to worry about Ashley and Jason being in the same room a lot." William says. "I have to take on Ashley, Alice and Trevor myself. They're the only three who have no real conscious control over their abilities. With the others, Maria and Eric especially, it's more an issue of learning to work as a group, and to follow their leader. For everyone, we'll need group drills, basic stuff, I hope you still remember them?" He finishes with a smirk.
"By the way," He asks, as he enters into the main room. "Where's the once called Ice?"

As Felicia rests her hand on Eric should he spins around and looks up at the hulk of a woman. "I swear everytime I see you, you get bigger." As she asks them what they're up to he replys in an innocent tone "nothing, just looking about." As Will passes them in the house Eric snapps a salute then continues with Felicia "Mike and I where just looking around, getting a feel for the place you know?"

William's eye naturally catches the salute. He stops and turns towards Eric. "Either salute me properly, or don't salute me at all, son." He says, casually, then continues on his way to find Ashely.

Alice smiles sympathetically, taking Jason's hand and squeezing it lightly. "It's still hard," she says quietly "even when you know there's no one to blame. It doesn't help make up for what was lost."
Realizing she is still holding Jason's hand, she lets it go, clearing her throat awkwardly. "In the spirit of clearing up confusion," she says "what did you mean by the other comment?" She clarifies, immitating Jason's voice (rolled impersonation, 22%) "The 'It's not like that' comment." Feeling embarrased she starts to babble "Because earlier I got the impression that maybe there was something developing and that you wanted to, well, kiss me and then you didn't and now I'm wondering if I was imagining things because of what you said. Because if I was, then it's ok. She sighs and covers her face briefly. "Ugh. I must sound like a prat right now. I'm just confused, I guess."

" Remember them? I still have nightmares about them." Tyler chuckled. " Ice? Oh, the hacker kid. I thought he was with you guys." Felicia shook he head at Will as he passed. Eventually he found Ashley lying on the bed of one of the bedrooms, staring at a picture and clearly upset.
After Will passed by, Felicia looked at Eric and Michael suspiciously. " Fine, keep it that way guys. Michaels voice popped into Eric's head Of all on them here, she scares me
Jason grinned. " Oh that, well I used to have a bit of a reputation as a player before I got hurt, and , well, " he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, " you know. but thats changed now, and , I , uh, oh hell I'll just say it. " He grinned devilishly. " Something about your accent turns me on."

"Well, he certainly wasn't with us. Trevor said he had gone with you guys. Check with Eric to see if he knows where Ice might hide. And with Trevor about his story." William steps into the room, closing the door bewteen himself and Tyler.
He stands there a second, then says "How are you holding up?" in an uncharacterisitcally caring voice as he moves towards the bed.

Alice blinks in surprise, having mentally prepared herself for the possibility of Jason's telling her that she had been imagining things. A smile starts to creep up on her face, and she blushes a little.
Alice then jokes, "Quick! Where's the dictionary? I can read out loud from it, if you find my accent so fascinating." She grins and lightly brushes her hand down Jason's arm, tickling him a little.
