Jason led the pair of vehicles out of the city after Alice relayed the message towards the everglades. A half hour after the city limits, they turned into a barely noticable sideroad that led through the cyprus trees to a fairly well kept lodge. Tyler's Camaro sat off to the side in front of a side building. At the sound of the arriving vehicles, Ty and Felicia appeared on the front step. He spoke as the engines shut off. " Everyone still in one peice?"

Alice gets out of the truck and shyly answers "Mostly. Sparks looks like she needs some help though, and I think Jason might be hurt." Ignoring Jason's annoyed look, she grabs her bag from the back of the truck, and sees William getting out of the truck behind them.
Walking up to him, she asks him if she can talk to him privately for a minute. They go to the side, and she says "You told me you train.." she pauses for a minute, trying to get the word out "metas, right?" She hurries on before he can answer, knowing she'll lose her nerve if she stops talking. "I was wondering if you would be able to train me. I don't understand what I can do and I think it's time that I start." Smiling cynically, she continues "I've been lucky so far. There's been someone else there in times of trouble, but there will be a time when there's not, and I need to know how to defend myself. You said I can do the things my grandmother does, so I thought maybe you could help me." She looks up at him, looking scared but resolved, knowing it's what she needs to do.

William steps out of the car, suprised he didn't garner more of a reaction from Tyler regarding the office building.
At Alice's request, William mulls it over, looking at the others. "Yes. I can teach you the basics. Though, the other three kids are going to have to learn a bit more than what they think are street-smarts to survive."
William looks back to Alice. "There are some things you should know about how your grandmother's powers were used. She spent most of the war as an assassin. An easy thing to do with the Nazi's higher-ranking officers being men. It was a dark time for her, and she has never really come back from it. While I can teach you survival skills, I will also be teaching you some of the same skills your grandmother used."
He stops, and looks downcastedly at the trees behind Alice. "I remember the letter I got when you were born. Just an announcement. But, you could tell from the wording, you grandmother was happy you appeared normal. I'm pretty sure it'll break her heart to find out what you're about to embark upon."

*moves in a semi zombie like gait as she's helped out of the truck .. the skin still a darkening grey and nearly moonless night .. the faint echoes of something long forgotten recede into the vastness of the memories once again.
*looking up at the others comments 'i think i'm gonna get sick .. ' *then as she moves to the back of the vehicle, reaches it in safety and then the sounds of relief are heard, and she returns to the others .. the skin normal once again. 'sorry ..'

Alice listens to William, feeling sad for her grandmother. She'd always known the war had been hard on her, but never guessed how much. "I know I have a lot to learn," she tells William "I will do my best."
Alice smiles at the remarks about her grandmother sending the birth announcement to William, but there is a lot of sadness in that smile. "I used to be normal," she says softly "but I guess I'm not anymore." She turns around and starts to walk back to the lodge.

*holding the pants that continue to want to fall off the hips, stands and leans against the truck for now and comments to herself quietly 'what did i do wrong?'
*more trapped in the past and trying to figure out what really happened to change her, as opposed to what happened in the tunnels and with the other agents that were after her

William puts his hand on her shoulder. "No mutant powers should be entered into lightly. And learning them should be never be fueled by revenge, or a lust for power. It's like driving. You need to be trained how to use them, and keep a level head when you do." He steps past her towards Tyler. "That's lesson 1."

*looking out of place near the truck by herself, moves closer to michael and ducks the head to hide the tears that glisten. then whispers quietly to him 'i don't know what happened back there .. the guy started to whisper .. and .. i .. i dont know what happened.'
*looking up at his face continues 'i guess i never will, but dont go in my head now .. its all scrambled up. i don't wanna know or remember anymore .. it hurt. guess we better go inside now .. '
*then trails along after the others into the cabin in the middle of nowhere, and having no memory of how she got there, but knows that her life is now in their hands

Alice stares at William as he walks towards Tyler with a thoughtful look on her face. After a minute or two, she shakes her head and starts to slowly follow him towards the lodge.

Alice wanders around the grounds, enjoying the quiet after the hectic day she's had. Entering the lodge, she looks around, but takes care to stay in public areas, such as the living room and kitchen, not wanting to disturb anyone's privacy. She goes into the living room and sits by the window, quietly enjoying the scenery as she reflects on everything that has happened and how much her life has changed in such a short period of time.

William heads into the cottage as well, passing Maria on the stairs, with a mild curiousity as to why, after all her life on the street, Maria would end up getting shell-shock. Eric, on the other hand, seems to have no idea what he's in the middle of.
Once inside, he looks around for Tyler.

*drops the head to rest on the knees and starts the process of trying to figure out what's wrong with the picture now.
...o0( well .. after thinking it all over. Madam wants me back, the Brethren want me to join, one group of goons want to arrest me for something and the cops want me dead .. just freaking great. now ... how do I survive and stay free from all of that? and what do these guys want from me? and how does the old fart know all the goons that want to kill me or make me vanish? now i'm really scared. who do i trust now? )

Tyler followed will inside, and led him to the kitchen where a bottle of scotch waited with a couple glasses. " Did you really have to trash the building? It wasn't easy getting that set up. " He poured a couple drinks and took a swallow as he slid the other glass in front of Will. " Doesn't matter I guess, looks like everyone got out in one peice if a little shaken up. What happened?"
Michael nodded to Sparks, but his voice never appeared in her head as he tapped her on the shoulder as he let himself into the cabin, followed closely by Jason. Eventually everyone was inside, or so she thought intil Trevor spoke from the other side of the cars, standing on the edge of a small dock. " Kind of ironic, isn't it? You 're usually so quick to use your powers and you freeze up while I refuse to give in to mine and end up using them to protect you. I'll never here the end of this.
Michael followed Eric and the pair toured the lodge (described below) until Felicia came up behind the pair, resting her hands on their shoulders and speaking lowly. " What are you two up to?"
" See anything interesting?" Ashley's cracked voice disturbed Alice's mind wandering. She smiled, but there was something else in her eyes. " Yuo must be Jason's new friend that Felicia told me about."
" It's not like that." Jason snapped as he rolled his wheelchair in, changed from his suit.
" Jason!" Ashley's barely contained herself as she turn and was about to embrace him.
His tone of voice stopped her. " No Ash. Not yet."
she nodded and left the room, dejected. He looked at Alice. " Sorry about that. we uh, have alot of history, and some of it we haven't let go of yet."
