Despite the pitch blackness of the stairwell as they floated, McKenna could help but smile as Foreman pulled her close. she knew he was only inches away, so she lowered her voice," All right lucky man," she chuckled at the captain's call," What did you have in mind now that you caught me?" she felt her pulse quicken as they floated.

Flip pulls MJ closer still. He knows what he said, he knows he wants more than just a fast physical relationship but being so close to her all the time especially now in the dark in zero G, its almost impossible to focus on anything else beyond the immediate situation and their close proximity.
"MJ..,"he starts and trails off as his words fail him. He reaches to put his arms around her in the dark. "I don't really have a plan, I just thought I would handle things as they come," he says running his hand down her back along her spine.

Flip's hand movements gave McKenna goosebumps as they floated, embraced. But they also spurned other emotions as she replied softly, " Then shut shut up." She leaned in close to kiss him in the dark, but when she found his nose, couldn't help but giggle.

In the stairwell.
Just as things start to get romantic, a jet of cold air drives its way through the stairwell. Cold enough they can feel it, but they have to keep their clothes on or they'ld get sick. Yeesh, you two.

Foreman smiles as MJ giggles, then shifts to find her lips. He kisses her and only stops when he feels the cool breeze. He pauses, lips barely brushing against hers, and whispers intimately, "seems like environment controls are going haywire now. We better stay real close and keep each other warm," before pressing his lips against hers fully again.
{OOC: You locked us in here. We would have just gotten food and continued with our day. <shrug>}

(OOC: Fooling around in the stairwell is as much a valid option as not fooling around in the stairwell. I never did anything to specifically make fooling around the only thing the pair could do.)
On the bridge After fiddling around with the controls for something (Jessica didn,t see what), Tawfeek came back down to her. He had a mischievious look. "Arlight. Now, to business. Can you get the damaged drive out? What will happen if you take it out, will the system continue to arc?"
A roll for her electrical skills - basic physics and conduction through the air, et cetera.

Jessica raises an eyebrow and smirks. "What are you up to?" she asks him as she looks to see if she can, in fact, take the damaged drive out and, if she does, what will happen.

McKenna returned the kiss, but the blast of cold air caught her off guard and as she shivered, she pulled back," That just air, right? We aren't losing air, are we?" She couldn't hide her worry.

Foreman holds her close and runs his hand up and down her back but more to warm her than anything else, "No, if we were losing air, then the air would be going the other way, out not in. Like I said I think the Environmental system may have also been affected by whatever broke the lights and gravity."

On the bridge: "Nothing." Tawfeek said.
Jessica recognized that a) if she removed the drive, it was what was causing the wiring to arc, so removing it should solve that problem, b) the inspectors should have caught this when the ship was approved (and it was approved, Tawfeek didn,t cut that corner), c) Yodelling was faintly heard over the speakers.
On the stairs It should be noted that, except for the directionless hum of the engines, and the air through the vents, the stairwell has become a sensory-deprivation chamber. The pair could be having a vision quest right now, pondering exactly how it was that Mr. Johnson could be hurt in stairwells, when they just went through a 6-Flags themselves... Someone or something on a higher level (it was Tawfeek, 2 floors up), must have realized this, and piped in some music to help: German Yodelling, complete with oompah music.
In engineering... THe ship is still giving the stairwell gravity error.

Jessica rolls her eyes, still smirking as she carefully removes the drive. "This is definitely what was causing the wiring to arc, so removing it should solve the problem. I'm surprised that it wasn't caught during the inspection."

On the bridge.
"Alright, then, let's close this up and get running again." Tawfeek said.

McKenna started to relax and rested her head on Foreman's shoulder when the music began," What the hell is that racket?"

Foreman actually laughs when the yodelling starts, "something tells me that the Captain has something to do with it. No malfunction would be bad enough to cause this."
Foreman looks around, it being totally dark though, he sees nothing. He says, "you know if the grav platting went bad while Johnson was in the stairway, maybe no one attacked him, could have been a freak accident like almost happened to us."
{OOC: didnt McKenna see a comm panel outside in another room, wouldn't that mean there was a little window in the door, so we would have some light? Or did she just see it before the door closed?}

{OOC- I thought she just remembered seeing it}
"Maybe," McKenna thought for a moment about the possibility, still resting in Flip's embrace despite the racket,," but it doesn't explain the camera failure, unless the systems are interconnected somehow. I, " she groaned," that horrible racket makes it hard to think." she didn't add that it was also spoiling her mood.
