Vol 2 Ch7: Just Another Day at the Office (B&C)

[dakota]

" Then I guess you better find a way to get Sarah back if I get led astray." Coop said with a smirk, pulling out his cell phone and finding the vamp's number to dial. " Because I don't see many options."

[Renekin Skywalker]

"We could always bide our time." Tobrias says. "I suspect they wanted your allegience to slow down the repsonse from us or the police."

There's a knock on the door and the head librarian lets himself in in a tizzy. "My most sincerest apologies, Guildmaster, Mister Cooper, Mister Botufa, but our new librarian has found it."

"Found what?" Tobrias asks, unsure whether he should be annoyed or not.

"The Rune Biology." The librarian answers.

Tobrias looks at Coop then the librarian. "For the Decree Slayers? I have not laid eyes on it in years. I thought it lost." He looks back at Coop. "Well, it looks like..."

The setting fades away, and Coop finds himself in the middle of a large cave... cavernously large... it was like in the movie theatre, but this time, lit like daytime, though still a cave, he could see the clouds moving across the 'sky'. There was a farm, a small river, and all kinds of erie quiet...

"... have a look, hmm?" Tobrias asks, rising from his desk.

Coop hadn't finished dialing the number when the librarian had come in, and he cleared the phone and started to tuck it in his pocket. He wanted to say something, but everything around him changed. At first he wasn't sure, but in an instant he realized Goltheria was telling him something again. Tobrias's voice, along with the slight thud of the phone hitting his foot shook him out of his slight daze. He blinked it away with a " Huh?" as he bent down to pick up his phone. " Did you say something, Tobrias?"

The whole room paused midstep and looked at Coop. "What did you see?" Tobrias asked, after a moment.

(Bianca)
Whatcha doin'?

[dakota]

Coop took a moment to clear the cobwebs. " Not sure where it was showing me. It felt like inside a cavern or something, but it looked like outdoors. It was quiet, that creepy quiet like when things aren't quite right. And I saw a farm by a river." he scratched his head. " Mean anything to any of you?"

Tobrias's forehead furrowed. "You mentioned caves before, did you not?" He asks. "It sounds familiar, but I cannot place my finger on it.... No matter. We should look into what our newest librarian has found." And he waves people out of his office.

(Bianca)
As she's going through the Golayus stories, she sees the Guildmaster, the head librarian, Mr. Cooper and Eleutheroi coming up to her.

" Last time, in the theatre, the vision appeared like it was inside a cave too. Could that be relevant?" Coop asked as they approached. He nodded politely to Bianca, " You tracked down something about my history?"

All eyes fixed on Bianca, waiting for a response....

Bianca froze for what seemed like an eternity to everyone else, then she blinked as if returning to her normal frame of mind and said, "This book responded to your name," she says, giving no explanation as to why told his name to a book.

"Miss Abramson." Tobrias says. "Can you start at the beginning and tell us what it is you've found?" He was looking over her shoulder at the archaic book.

Coop was trying hard not to seem impatient as he folded his arms. He raised a brow, " do I want to know why you asked a book my name in the first place?"

"At the hospital," Bianca pauses, her eyes shifting to the other librarian for only a fleeting second, "I didn't find what I was looking for," she continued somewhat evasively. She did find something after all, but she wasn't supposed to talk about it in the open in the library.

"So I came back and was re-checking some other records when I found this book in runic. It contains a history of slayers, but it is very tough to read. I was getting bogged down and thought I might call Mr. Cooper with some questions when the book reacted to his name and brought me to this section." She spins the books around and shows it to them in case they can read runic.

"The Golayus bloodlines."

The head librarian, Eleutheroi and Tobrias all muttered a tongues spell and started reading, almost simultaneously. Eleutheroi whistled. "Hey Coop." He says reading a portion paraphrasioly. "Did you realize that, according to this book, you helped talk Molavious Lockheart (who was acting as a direct representative to the living city (see Chapter 2), and Chapter 22 for the Lockheart line.) down from killing a demon that had banished Sarah Lockheart - also of the Lockheart line, see Chapter 22 - to another dimension and - hey!"

Tobrias had snapped the book up and closed it. "No wonder it was lost. Thank-you Miss Abramson. If you wish, we can provide you with the means to translate books through magic."

[dakota]

Coop looked at Eleutheroi and shook his head. " I know, I was there, remember?" He couldn't help but smirk. But the smirk faded quickly," Hold it, who writes in this book? Because if they knew where Sarah was all along..." He let his question trail off in an attempt to keep his anger in.

Clearing his throat, he nodded to Bianca," Thanks for all your help. Maybe we'll work together again sometime."

Tobrias held the book closer. "It writes itself, Zachary. But, all that aside. What do you thinka book like this would do, in the wrong hands. Especially if Miss Lockheart is still not yet herself?"

"Miss Abramson." He adds, "This book does not exist, correct?"
