Before the squad knew it, the submarine captain entered the cabin. " We are in position, Captain Fraser. I have us sidelong to the beachhead, so we will block some of the wind for you, but you are still in for a rough ride. I wish you the best of luck."
With the sub stopped, it began to rock fairly hard with the stormy seas.

Socrates braced himself against the rocking ship. "Yee haw." He said, rather dispassionately and a little sarcastically, his weapons holstered and safetied, lest they go off from the buffetting. He looked at Sam for the "go" order.

Now that her weapons had been rechecked and stowed, Tori pulled her helmet over her head and short ears, then sealed it shut. She slung her rifle and went over to the stored inflatable. "Janxi, let's get this up on deck. We'll tie on to the sub's deck with the inflatable's bow line, then inflate. We'll get everyone on board by the numbers and cast off. Make sure you all have a good hand-hold or lash yourselves to the Zodiac. It's gonna buck like a bull ride out there, soang on to your lunch!"
As soon as the deck hatch opened, she would work with Janxi to get the boat out. When the big cat tied the bowline onto the deck, she would inflate and get everyone on board.
"Richardson, you and Soc stand by to provide suppressive fire while we're up on deck. Janx, once we're away, keep glass on the shorline, and take down anything that looks anywhere as mean as you do."

After pulling on her helmet, and locking it down, Janxi grabbed the inflatable. Even with the hull, battery and motor, it was not a heavy burden for her. When the hatch was opened by a sub crewman, she would rush onto the deck and tie the bowline to a cleat on the sub's hull before launching.
"Aye aye, Tori. Boat ready for deployment on deck."
She tapped her foot softly, and began to sing a song she knew had to predate man's discovery of electricity. An old sea shanty sung by northern raiders. She sang quietly, though loud enough for Tori and anyone close by to hear. She dreamed of the northern raiders hacking their way across continents, taking what they wanted and burning the rest.
"We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow!
Hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new land, To fight the horde, sing and cry: Valhalla, I am coming!"

Sam nods in thanks at the captain of the sub andputs on her helmet and makes sure she has everything she needs. Nodding Tori, she replies "Yes, I know that thank you." Her tone, however, plainly shows that she's not annoyed by the reminders, simply that she has had the training but it is good for anyone on the team who hasn't had the training to be reminded of this. Once they receive the signal she nods to signal they are good to go, waiting for the others to go before she heads off herself.

Shep had his helmet on before he climbed out on deck. He stood near the top turret with his rifle braced to his shoulder, away from the others prepping the launch.
The surf was close to 8 ft, and hammered the mini sub hard enough it was rocking, but oddly the wind was as hard as expected. The rain however was pounding down so hard they could barely see the shoreline. "At least no one can see us either." Shep sputtered

With the opening of the hatch, Janxi could only hear the crash of the waves and the roar of wind, not quite as bad as she thought it might be. She wondered where the eye of the storm was in relation to their position, near or far.
Before rushing out of the interior of the sub, she elevated her voice over the storm's roar.
"On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore!"
With that as her war cry, she rushed out, carrying the rubber boat, lashing its bowline to a cleat on the sub's deck. Even a wave over the top of the sub would not wash their transportation away. Janxi held onto the line with a strong grip to keep her from getting washed over too. There would probably be no aircraft in this weather, but she worried about surface boats as crazy as the team was. If anything could be seen on the shore, or by radar, the turret could shoot it.
"Tori, bowline secured! Bowline secured. Ready to inflate. Shep! That turret's still manned and live! Better stand clear if there's trouble."
She waited for Tori to get the boat inflated before casting off toward whatever was in the swamp. She turned on the thermal imager in her helmet's optics, as heat could be seen through rain, sand, fog, whatever, and scanned for trouble.

"Skipper, get us a topside radar sweep. I don't want no dragons welcoming us to their swamp!"
She followed Janxi out and turned on her thermal-imagers looking for anything warm. With the report the bowline was tied to the sub, Tori yanked the inflation tab, hoping it worked. If the boat inflated, she would guide it into the water, on the leeward side of the sub, and take her seat at the coxswain's post and energize the motor. "Get aboard!"
If it didn't inflate, the amount of profanity she would spew forth would make even the saltiest master chiefs cringe.

"I would be worried about what's under the water." Socrates says, looking around at the waves. "And you don't taste good enough for a dragon to want to eat you." As the group moves from Sub to boat, Socrates followed suit, landing in the boat, bracing and keeping a keen eye in the direction Janxi wasn't looking.

"It ain't impossible, Soc, but with the rips, these huge-ass breakers and a massive undertow, anything down there that ain't got its own air is gonna have a rough time. Sonar's gonna be pretty foul too, but skipper, you get a sonar contact or surface, feel free to sing out."
She continued to prep the boat for launch. "''Sides, Soc, cats are predators, not the prey!"

Richardson was so happy they were getting out of the sub, the only reason he didn't head out first was so that he was concerned about Autumn. He sidles up to her, "Doctor are you ok? You have been very quiet. Do you need help getting to the zodiac?"

Autumn turns to the person who interrupted her reverie. "Oh I am sorry I lost what was happening. No I am ok. I should be able to get in. Thank-you though!"
As the doctor attempts to get into the zodiac.

Richardson nods and waits allowing the doctor to get in first before joining everyone in the Zodiac.

Sam gives both Autumn and Richardson a dark look. "So glad you decided to join us." she says icily.
Once everyone is ready, she barks, "Let's go!"

Shepherd was the last one into the little inflatable. Once they were away from the submarine, it remained stationary until they were halfway to the beach before it slipped beneath the waves and was gone.
Despite the punishing wind and waves, the small boat made it to shore without capsizing. Nothing could be detected or sensed waiting for them as they made it to the sandy beach. Over the team radio, Shep sounded better as he spoke, "Might be a good place for R&R if it wasn't for the little storm." He was already rechecking his gear.
