As the boat hit the sand, Socrates was off, and making his way to the forest. Unlike the others, apparantly, he travelled light, and didn't need to check everything again. When he got to the woods at the end of the beach, he crouched in and, with his helmet still sealed, used his eyes and psychic senses.

Richardson catches the dark look and when the captain (she is a captain right?) turns her back he rolls his eyes at her. He thinks to himself, 'as soon as this mission is over I'm requesting a transfer.'

The Doctor ignores any glares she gets from anyone and fits on her helmet again to be prepared for what is to happen when the land. Once the boat hits the sand she gets out, puts on her bag and readies her rifle.

Tori watched socrates enter the forest. He was probably scouting for dangers, but it was unwise to go alone. She gestured quickly to Janxi to pull the inflatable onto the beach. The little cat jumped out and began collecting ample loose jetsam-branches, palm fronds, and leaves- on the beach into a pile. When Janxi got the boat away from the surf, she would tie it to a mangrove, and cover it with the debris.

Janxi carried the boat to the end of the beach, under a tree. She knew, with a proper brace of cover, she could conceal the boat maybe even in wind. Helping Tori, she covered the little boat with branches, palm fronds, and others, the boat would be camouflaged. Now and then, she kicked sand in and bound things together with palm straps. Small pieces went into Tori's 3D coverings, into her own, or to use on the boat.

As they hit the beach Richardson gets out of the boat and helps the doctor down from the boat. He waits and takes up rear guard keeping his rail gun armed and ready.

Tori helped Janxi with the camouflaging, passing branches, fronds, twigs and palm-straps as needed. Mostly, she stayed out of the way letting the bigger cat work her Marine Corps magic. The 3D suits localized perfectly, helping the cats blend into the swamp. Background MARPAT and Naval Digital patterns on their armor worked like a tiger's stripes in an Indian jungle, coupled with the best military technology had to offer. The hunters stood ready for a prolonged stalk against the most dangerous prey.
She used her natural senses to search for danger, prey or targets, first. It was only instinct for her. Then her training asserted itself to search for hidden enemies or animals, ambush and traps or explosives in the vicinity and along the way. In short, she entered full point mode, augmented by her sixth sense.

Sam replies quietly. "All right people, let's move out. Keep your eyes open and stay frosty." Rifle in hand, Sam starts moving out cautiously, keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble.

With the storm raging, Shep kept his helmet on as he finished his quick check. At Sam's order to move out, hestarted to move. " Soc, take point. Tori, you've got his back. Janxi, you stay with the Captain. Richardson, you might as well stick with the Doc. You heard the bosslady, move it people."
The jungles of Dinosaur Swamp were quiet. Except for the hammering of torrential rain and the howling, nothing was moving except the squad.

Cradling her rifle, Tori got low, as cats do on a stalk. Only her size, bipedal posture and armor separated her from the species she had been evolved from. She moved silently, like a housecat prowling a yard for a bird. Her tail was tucked, and sticking out slightly behind her. She leaned forward, leaning with her shoulders. It was a good day to hunt.

Socrates emerged from the bush for a moment for the others to see him, then headed inland towards the assigned meeting point. He hoped the trees would slow down the wind a little. Or at elast reduce the volume of projectiles. Instead of his rifle, his pair of vibroswords were at the ready.

As Soc and Tori started to lead the way, it was clear that there was no welcoming partry, at least none that was going to ambush them. both the cats and Socrates knew the jungle was alive, but nothing seemed to be interested in anything but weathering the storm. (pending rolls of course)
shep's voice came acrossed the radio," Hey Doc, you got any painkillers you can get to without your gear getting soaked? This headache doesn't seem to want to break like the others and my other bottle is buried in my ruck."

Socrates's sensory rolls, applied as he ambled along through the forest less worried about hacking at the more troublesome branches, so as to make the path look more like storm damage than a new path.

"I do have some yes but I will only give them to you if you can let me have a closer look at any underlying thing when we have a moment or two. We can do it on the down low if you do not want the Captain to find out!"
She reaches down and grabs one of the reachable packets of pain killers handing them over to Shep

Sam's voice comes over the radio and she says "The captain already knows about his condition." Sam is about to add that the doctor should just give Shep the pills, but says nothing when she sees Autumn doing just that.
Sam continues to keep an eye out for any signs of trouble, her rifle at the ready.
