Crynn'Jol clears his throat. "I'm still here. You may fawn over the books when you're gone. Please, remain focused." His tone has the aged tone of *sigh* 'Kids'. "Tell me about the vision, in detail."

Sarah describes the vision that she and Coop had when they were watching the movie, doing her best to remember as many small details as she can. "What do you think it means?" she asks Crynn'Jol. (tag)

Crynn'Jol rubs his chin, looks around, pulls a book out from a shelf. "Shall I charge the Decree Slayer account or the Guild for this?" He asks. "Either's fine to me."
The book is called Engineering Golthreia: the Precurser Experiments in Magical Enviromental Controls. It's clearly well-read, and more than 100 years old, but is one of many similar on the shelf, and doesn't cost too much. It was written by Anteres Fayde and Josen Ironwrench.

Seeing that the price on the book isn't too high, Sarah replies "I can pay for it, that's fine." (tag)

After the money is exchanged, they end up with a few new books. A pair in Cyrrilic (Coop's), and one in Golthreian English (the engineering one). And are now walking in the street, the sky clouding ominously.

Sarah smiles as they walk down the street with their new book, hoping that they will be able to find some kind of information on the vision they'd had at the movies. When she sees the sky start to cloud over, she puts the book in her knapsack to keep it dry and asks Coop, "Are you excited about learning magic?" (tag)

" Not sure if excited is the right word." Coop admitted as he leafed through the pages of one book. Spotting what Sarah had done, he took her knapsack and did the same and then slung it over his shoulder. " What if..." He stopped himself from asking a negative question and giving her an opportunity to scold him. " I guess I just don't want to screw it up and do something stupid to follow in the family footsteps."
He looked at Sarah and smiled, wrapping his arm around her, " Not that you'd let that happen. and the last thing I want is to give you reason to kick my butt."

Sarah grins at Coop as she wraps her arms around him, giving him a hug. "That's right," she teases, looking up at him with a grin. "you don't." Nodding, she adds, "And of course, I'll do whatever I can to help you with your training. Even if it means I have to learn it as well." Sarah grins at the idea of learning new magic and gives Coop another hug as they head towards the bus stop. (tag)

" I'm counting on your help. I can't read this gibberish. " Coop grinned as they walked. " You do know a tongues spell, right?"

Sarah grins up at Coop, "You're in luck," she replies "I just happen to know such a spell. It should help us out when we're trying to decipher the books. Plus," she adds "I know how to read Latin, which is a very popular language in magic studies." (tag)

" And you're just bursting at the opportunity to use it, are you?" Coop asked playfully as they reached the bus stop. " I haven't seen you this giddy about anything since... ever. Except after the first time, when I was still being housed at the guild."
He looked down at Sarah, suddenly serious. " You're dad made it sound like he and your mom were expecting something more personal this morning, and it's kind of got me thinking, but I'm not sure how it works. In place of a promise ring, what does a guy give a Decree Slayer? Engraved throwing daggers or a set of matching monogrammed holy water cannisters? Or maybe a case of monogrammed wooden stakes with matching mallet?" His serious look started to crack as he couldn't hold back his snicker as he guessed he'd caught her off guard.

Sarah nods, still grinning. "Yes, I am!" she replies "it's not every day that I get a chance to bust out my mad Latin skills." Sarah chuckles a little at her silly joke and hops up on the bus stop bench and wraps her arms around Coop's neck.
When Coop starts talking about what her father had said this mrning, Sarah looks a bit suprised and her eyes start to widen as she wonders what he was going to say. When he mentions the monogrammed daggers and such, she laughs and says "I'd like the monogrammed wooden stakes and matching mallet! It's the perfect accessory for the slayer on the go! Plus, I'm sure you can get an attractive carrying case. After all, a girl must have the right accessories!" Sarah winks at Coop and gives him a hug as they wait for the bus. (tag)

" Are you kidding? You'll have to wait until your birthday for the carry case. You know how well we get paid." Coop replied as he held the embrace. When they released , he took her hands in his as she stood on the bench. " Seriously, do you think I'm rushing things if I got you a ring? I mean if you think it's too soon.." He started to lose some of his confidence, and broke his look in her eyes, staring at the ground instead. " Or if it would interfere with your Slayerhood."

Sarah's eyes widen a bit and she smiles softly when Coop starts to become shy and stares at the ground. She gently lifts his head so they're making eye contact again and leans over and kisses him softly. "I wouldn't think you were rushing things if you did that, and no, it wouldn't interfere with my Slayerhood." She pauses before adding, "The only thing I ask is that if you do, it's because that's what you want to do and not because my mother or father prodded you into doing it before you were ready." Smiling gently, she says "I wouldn't want you to do it because you feel pressured to do it." (tag)

And the bus comes, and the pair get on it. There's some damp schmoopsy teenagers making out in Coop and Sarah's regular spot.
Notes: The book is not in Latin, but Cyrrilic, the traditional Russian script.
