The stage is now set. Those aboard the ship include (I'm doing this because there's a large NPC cast I need to keep exactly straight):

And noooooww... Plot!
Alistair was given a clean bill of health (and some clean underpants), after his encounter with Tawfeek. All the crew were told to keep him locked up and that it was a ship matter, so the marshall didn't need to be involved. Probably a lie, but Tawfeek explained that he wasn't going anywhere, and the Air Marshalls can just as easily handle it on Mars. Alistair was safe if he stayed in his room, either way. The boy brought his own little bag of clothes and little else (which was confiscated to make sure this wasn't some eveil plot).
The europeans, it turned out, were a group of chefs that were going to start a restaurant on Mars - which is probably why Tawfeek agreed to bring them.
Mr. Smith didn't speak, really, ever, even, like, ever. Creepy, that guy. He just sort of watched everything, even sort of turning up at odd times, and ate and left the room, politely.
The Jolies and the Johnsons were getting on very easily, since the Johnsons were taking nicely to Eric and Joan Jolie...
And so, the ship leaves Earth, with dinner, and the moon now setting off the port bow, and the ship angled for Mars.
With the ship on auto-pilot and rigged for warnings, even the crew were down in the Galley to eat. It were packed.
Tawfeek adamantly refused to talk about Alistair, and made sure his crew didn't speculate. He was still waiting for confirmation from Mars and Earth about the status of the passengers on the Magenta...
There's still almost 6 days of travel left to go, so... dinner!

McKenna saw an opportunity, and decided to take it. she sidled up next to Flip when he wasn't looking with a smile. " Hey Flyboy. They let you out of your seat afterall." she grinned. " I was starting to think you might be forgetting about me."

Foreman returned the grin. Genuine pleasure evident on his face, "hey you know how it is, if there's traffic someone has to steer. Its really good to see you, MJ. And you know I can never forget about you." After a pause he grins at her and says, "next time I'm on duty, come on up, I'll show you some basics if you want. That way we can get some time together, and you can help out flying if anything ever happens to me," he says nonchalantly.

Jessica gets some food with the plan to take it down to the boy, figuring that he would like to see a friendly face. However, if asked, she'll state that she is going to eat in her room so that she can work on some things. She avoids looking in the direction of McKenna and Flip as she heads out of the galley and heads toward the room Alistair is being kept in.
Once she reaches the room, she unlocks the door and smiles at the boy in a friendly manner. "I thought you might want something to eat." she says as she places the tray on the table.

Xavier too grabs a plate of food and brings it to sit down and tries to find a seat. Seeing Foreman seems to surrounding himself with ladies he decides to leave him to that. Instead looking for an empty table to sit at to dine alone with the engineering logs.

Heinz Saucier sits down next to Xaiver. "How are you finding the food?"
(OOC note: being pros, they did easily pass the skill rolls... if you need any ideas.)

Alistair takes the food. "Thank-you, thank-you!" He says, moving to the table like a hungry animal. "Have you found out about my parents yet?" He asks between mouthfuls. "Can I have my clothes? I'm kinda smelly."

Realizing that this individual has not even given Xavier a chance to put some into his mouth yet. "Well it does smell delicious but I have yet to taste it." With that he shovels some in. "I was right based off the smell, it is very good!"

" I'd like that." McKenna said, grinning. " I've flown shuttles, but nothing this big. Not sure the captain or Jess would like that though. Maybe I'll just watch if it's okay with you." She looked up to see Jessica leaving." Flip, if you'll excuse me, I gotta talk to Jess. We still haven't smoothed things over from on the Weigh and I feel bad about it. I'll find you later?"

"Not if I find you first," he says with a wink. He watches the doctor walk away, and then after a moment, he shakes his head snapping himself out of whatever revelry, and he starts to eat.

Jessica smiles warmly at Alistair as she says "Of course. I will talk to the Captain about you getting the chance to clean up as well, if you would like." Sitting down across from him, she asks gently, "May I ask, what made you decide to come on our ship? Why didn't you contact the authorities to get a hold of the ship your parents were on so they could come and get you? I'm sure they are worried about you, wondering if you are safe."

Alistair looked down at his plate. "Because I was late for a stupid reason..." He says, playing with his food. "She just... I mean... My parents would be mad enough, but to find out it was for that? A week on a passenger ship and I'm late for that..."

Can't seem to find Jessica anywhere. (The door to Alistair's room is closed and locked ATM' so Jessica isn't visible.) However, she cannot have gotten far.

In the Galley,
Meals and conversation continute.
"Good!" Heinz says. "You never know what you'll get on Mars, so it's good if we can work with such... non-perishable ingredients." He was being polite, but couldn't think of a way to say "hideously not fresh".
"Mr. Foreman?" Eric asks, coming over. "Mom says you fly the ship. What's that like?"

Jessica smiles kindly at Alistair as she nods. "I understand. You met someone you really liked, and you lost track of time. I know what that's like, when you meet someone and it's like everything disappears and they're all you can see." She pauses for a minute before continuing, "But imagine how worried they must be now, not knowing where you are or if you are ok. I think that even if they are mad, they'll be more relieved to know that you are safe."
Jessica smiles at him, hoping to convince him that contacting his parents was a good idea, so they'll know he is safe, even if they are a little mad at him.

Foreman smiles at the kid. "There are few feelings better than using the controls to make a a huge freighter do whatever you want it to," he says as he acts like he is moving the stick at that moment. "When you wrap your hands around the stick its like you can feel the whole ship respond to you. You can feel its power, its aches, its pains, its like the soul of the ship can flow through that control into you. You and the ship become one," the look on his face is peaceful almost blissful, "the only thing better is..." realizing he was talking to a kid he stops and smiles looking directly at him. "Umm.. there aint much better feelings, lets leave it at that."

Not seeing anyone, in the corridors, McKenna knocked on Jess's door. she spoke loud enough to be heard inside. " Jess, you there? I want to make it up to you for what happened on Carson's. will you at least come out and talk to me?" She knocked again, louder.
