6.2 Interplanetary space - en route to Mars

It quickly becomes obvious to McKenna that Jessis is not ignoring her, but isn't actually even in her own quarters.

Alistair looks over, slowing his eating. "I hope so. I really was dumb. Even if they're happy to see me, they won't let this go.

In the cafeteria, it quickly becomes obvious that the Von Donnigan party (originally said to be 2 men and 2 women) was actually 4 men... 2 just look more... menly than the others. Yeah.

Otherwise...

"That is soo cool! Did you fly with pirates? against pirates? In a dogifght? Oh! Did you ever do spaceship chicken? Have you flown around asteroids, like... nrrroooow!" Eric bombards Foreman.

[Mierin]

Jessica nods with a sympathetic smile. "You probably will get in trouble, but I bet they're so relieved to know you are ok that it won't be nearly as bad as you think."

[Dome]

"Not with pirates, not against either. No dogfights, although I did train enough to survive should I have to be in one, I think. Spaceship chicken is not something normally done. Same with flying around asteroids. Ships tend to avoid them." Flip glances at the door hoping the doctor comes back. He wants to spend more time with her.

He looks back at the kid, "My time in the fleet I spent flying heavies, Cargo ships like this one. There are somethings you don't do in them," he smiles remembering the incident that got him discharged, "and some things you shouldn't do."

McKenna tried Jess' door one more time, knocking loudly. " Great, I walked away from time with Flip for nothing. " she sputtered loudly to herself as she started down the corridor. she stopped and thought for a moment, trying to decide between going back and checking Jessica's workshop. she had never been there, but knew where it was. she decided on the former and started backtracking. wondering where Jess had disappeared to.

Before Alistair can answer he cocks his ear, as both he and Jessica hear a strange thumping coming from the floor upstairs. It may have been from her room.

McKenna's backtracking has a couple of options: she's on the 3rd floor of the ship (Jessica's quarters are on the port side). She could go to one of the other levels or continue to explore the level.

Tawfeek sits next to Xaiver. How are you finding the ship? He asks.

Eric looks at Foreman. "Oh. Just cargo ships. No warships? Like the super-mega Destructor ships on TV?"

"The ship is actually fairly easy to figure out. I am happy to be part of the crew although I have really only interacted with 3 of them. I believe her name is Mckenna who I talked to briefly. The other engineer and also met Foreman. And I know he tried to get me to call him flip but I don't know, I think Foreman suits him much better then that. I have a couple ideas on improving things in Engineering but they can wait." Xavier responds to Tawfeek.

[Mierin]

Jessica looks up with a puzzled expression on her face as she wonders who would be thumping around upstairs near her room. Looking at Alistair, she says "I should go and check that out. Are you done with that?" Indicating the plate of food that he had been devouring. If he is, she'll take the plate and utensils as she says with a smile, "I'll be back momentarily with some clothes for you."

Jessica then heads upstairs to see what was making that thumping noise.

McKenna was just about to take the stairs when she saw Jassica approaching. She grinned," I knew if I made enough of a racket that ship's security would come running. Look, Jess, can we talk for a minute. I was a bitch back on the Weigh, and I want to apologize."

[Mierin]

Jessica raises an eyebrow looking a bit surprised as she had thought McKenna had already done that earlier. Smiling, she nods and says "Sure, that sounds fine."

[Dome]

Foreman grins, "I flew a few fighters, never in combat though. I was really training to fly one of the fleet's cap ships, have to work your way up you know. I did some time on the bridge of a few. So Eric, you excited about Mars," Foreman asks trying to turn the conversation from him.

[dakota]

" Don't do that." McKenna said, as sincere as she could. " It sounds like your just telling me what I want to hear so I go away, just like you did before. Please don't, I'm trying to make things right between us. I'd like to be friends, Jess. Or at least someone to talk to when I screw up."

[Mierin]

Jessica looks surprised again, shaking her head causing her pony tail to go swinging from side to side as she says "I wasn't trying to do that, honest." A small smile appears on Jessica's face as she adds. "And yes, it would be nice if we could get along. It's not that big a ship." Jessica pats McKenna on the arm almost awkwardly before saying "I was going to get the boy, Alistair some clothes, if you wanted to join me so we can keep talking. Unless you have to get back to the gallery." It seems like Jessica is assuming McKenna is only trying to get this errand done before she runs back to Flip the second she gets a chance.

" Yeah, I can help." McKenna nodded. She wanted to see Flip, but escaping the passengers was a fair tradeoff. " You keep extra clothes and stuff on board for passengers?"

[Mierin]

Jessica nods quietly as she says "Yeah, we tend to accumulate things. I'm not sure if we have anything that will fit him perfectly, but at least he will be dressed and a little more comfortable than he is currently."

Seeing the look on McKenna's face, Jessica shrugs as she says calmly, "It seems obvious that I'm not the person you want to be with, so it's fine if you leave to go see him."

" I was looking for an excuse to escape the passengers." She smirked. " I'm not much for those types of gatherings. Not to mention I didn't want to offend them by not eating much." She looked at Jess curiously, " Does it bother you that Flip and I like each others company?"
