6.2 Interplanetary space - en route to Mars

Mr. Johnson is not dead. But, seems more like a coma or something. There's evidence of trauma... like bruises and marks from some kind of hit bleeding. Not knives or guns or anything like that. Not even a fist. Like a long straight object.

Tawfeek nodded, and hit some keys, sealing off the stairwell, and then ran down. A few minutes later, he reappeared with the backboard guerney (I recall on Firefly is was a special thing) and a neckbrace.

Mr. Smith nodded, quietly. The small talk concluded, by the looks in his eyes. Eric, meanwhile, scurried away to his parents pretty quickly.

[Dome]

Suddenly alone Foreman gives Smith a sidelong glance. He thinks, 'Something isn't right here. The Captain being called away, Smith is acting freakin weird. He seemed way to interested in my presence here instead of the cockpit, not to mention that he knew who I was and we haven't met.'

Flip starts to eat again, occasionally looking up at Smith as he does trying to keep an eye on him. At one point he looks him up and down trying to see if he can spot anything that would give away what he has been up to.

Foreman notices his hands are clean, his shirt is tucked in, like it was just tucked in again. Maybe he went to the washroom....

" Jess, don't move him." McKenna said as she moved aside her and began to place the collar on Smith, reaching around Jess , showing she had done it plenty of times before. " Don't you worry Mr. Johnson, we'll have everything shiney in no time. " Okay Jess, you can let go, keep it up and you might end up med assistant if need be."

Once they had him on the guerney and moving, McKenna looked at Tawfeek and Jessica, " Captain, I'm been on enough ausault runs to know what it looks like, and this sure looks like somebody clobbered him good. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your ship, but you might want to get your marshal involved."

[Mierin]

Jessica nods at McKenna as she continues to hold Johnson's head steady until McKenna puts the collar on him and says she can move. Grinning at McKenna, she nods as she says "It would be useful to have additional first aid skills and I'd be happy to help, if needed."

Jessica looks over at Tawfeek and nods. "I have no problems working with him, Captain, if you decide to go that route."

"You're chief of security." Tawfeek says, grabbing one side of the guerney to lift Mr. Johnson. "You can figure it out. It's not like we're going anywhere, and the rest of the passengers will know soon enough." He wasn't wrong, but seemed to be deliberately skirting getting the marshalls involved.

[dakota]

McKenna shrugged at the captain's decision. " Good enough, sir. I'll take Mr. Johnson down for observations then. I'll be a little more througout checking on his injuries and maybe I can figure what the weaoon used on him was."

[Mierin]

Jessica smirks a little, not completely surprised by Tawfeek's answer though she asks "Should we try to keep this quiet, Captain, to try to prevent panic among the rest of the passengers."

Looking at McKenna, she asks "Would it be possible for me to borrow a pair of gloves so I can attempt to avoid contaminating the crime scene?"

[dakota]

" Here, take a couple pair." McKenna dug them from her medical bag and handed them off." I've got a couple year's supply back in medical. Have fun." She said as she started directing the guerney towards the medical bay.

[kurff]

Last Recall I was sitting on the bridge watching a foot ball game (what we North Americans call Soccer. Since the plot was going nice I was letting it run.)

Flip excuses himself and clearing away his food makes his way over to Xavier. He sits down and whispers, "hey man, see that guy sitting over where I was. Keep an eye on him. He's acting freakin weird."

Jessica takes the gloves from McKenna with a nod of thanks. Putting one pair of gloves on, she puts the other pair in her pocket and heads toward the stairwell. Once she gets there, she looks around to see if there is anything that can be collected as evidence.

"How so are they acting weird. I mean I do not mind although I prefer the shape of a comely female but either way. Sure why not." Xavier responds back to Foreman.

[Dome]

"And do it subtlety," Flip whispers. "With the captain getting called away in the middle of his meal, this guy acting strange, something is going on. I don't know what it is but its something. This guy knew exactly who I was, and we never met before." Flip shrugs and smiles, "maybe I'm just being paranoid, but what harm does it cost to pay a little extra attention? Better to offend a passenger than find the ship vented to space or something. I'm going to go see if I can find Jessica and give her a heads up."

With the last Foreman gets up and leaves the dining area and begins to look around for Jessica.

Xavier tries to figure out if this is actually a joke or something he is serious on it. Either way a small use of energy is needed so he decides to humour the pilot. If he is right then cool, if not then not really a loss of energy.
