Sam still looks unpleased with the reports of Shep's headaches. "What kind of painkillers?" she asks, refusing to let Shep change the subject. "I want to see them." The tone in her voice makes it clear that she won't let Shep talk his way out of this as she holds out her hand. Once she gets the pill bottle, she'll study it quietly, trying to figure out how strong the medicine is. Looking up at Shep again, she says quietly "I know you're close with Tim. I know you want him to come home safe. But I need to know if you're going to be ok for this mission." Sam looks at Socrates and directly asks both of them, "So tell me, honestly is there anything else I need to know about these headaches?"

"That he only showed them after things between Tori and I were coming to a head." Socrates reported. "It may simply be stress, as there is a lot riding on this mission, sir. Naturally, the friction within the group is not helping matters."
He paused for a second, before adding, "But I am not a doctor."

Richardson listens to both the doctor and Tori. He says, "look Tori, I understand your concern. However, I can almost guess the doctor isn't going to tell you a damn thing. She's got her principals. All we can do is watch out for each other. Thats what makes a team. We still have time before we head out. With her brother on the line, I doubt the Captain would risk the mission if Trassk isn't well. She'll call him on it and bench him. "

"Thank-you very much, " Autumn says to Richardson before turning to Tori. "He is quite correct though as there is no way ethically I could give information like that out. If it came down to it I could even refuse an order so long as it does not risk the mission. My simple observations are not even mildly enough to diagnose, be that as it may though if any of the team is in medical danger or does something that goes against the rules like if I see him or any of you abuse anything like those pills he has then I do have it in my authority to sideline a person. As it is I do have to report any of my findings on request of Lonestar to the team there of observation of you cat and dog people as well as the team performance."

"I'm still a little worried 'bout that too," Tori said. "It's too easy to put family ahead of the mission, but I guess family is the mission." Tori liked that complication the least, but there was little to say or do about it.
"Well, alright, Doc. I'm just gonna ask ya to talk to Six if you think anything's bad."

Richardson nods at Tori's statement. "Your right, but I get the impression Shep and the Captain are so concerned about her brother that they will make sure the mission is a success." Richardson doesn't mention his concern that she may be willing to risk anything, even her own team to save her brother.
"Like I said, we watch out for each other. I want to come back with the same team we go in with."
Richardson turns to the QM and tells him what Shep asked for.

Shep produced the bottle and handed it over. On the label it simply said " Aspirin, Extra Strength. Take as needed. maximum 16 per day."
He looked at her ," It's not as bad as you think. nice to see you care about an old man though." He chuckled. " I'm fine Sam. really. Doc's gonna fuzz that I had them remove a reccomendation that I get removed from field duties due to my age and the fact I've been beat around a little. Want me to tranfer to instrucing or something. I'll quit first, I ain't no teacher."
The dog boy went in the back of the shop while the quartermaster leaned on one elbow, listening with a smirk. The dog boy returned with two rolls of what looked like duct tape, except for two thick ridges down the middle. " Y'all get done gabbin, I can get the rest of your stuff."

"Hooya!" Tori said spotting the det cord, then up at the quartermaster. Her feline eyes catching the artificial light in the room at just the right angle. She really reminded people of a kid in the candy store.
"Also, do you have a mapsheet for this area? I'd like to know where we are a little better."

" Maps? Yeah, here." He reached into the counter and pulled out a couple, handing them off. " Best ones are downloadable from Ops. What're y'all doin down here in the swamp? Fresh in recruits?" OOC: Put up a new post titled suppliers for the munchkins in all of us. Shep's rifle is in there, along with the Det TAPE and lots of other goodies. don't expect miracles though

Richardson looks at the QM, "staging," is all he says. He then says, "any chance I can get my hands on a NG-303? Oh, and let me have some c-4 and detonators."
He looks at the doctor then back at the QM. "Where's the firing range?"

Tori looked over the the SOG equipment. Her own weapon, a Triax rifle, was a competitor to Shep's carbine for a brief period, and still preferred by naval special forces. Though she was tempted to change out, she liked the Triax weapon. The SOPMOD add-ons were nice to boot. Her M26 modular shotgun hung below the laser barrel gave her all the versitility she needed. She could shoot door breaching rounds, then hit personnel-scale targets inside a room with buckshot, then slugs. If they were armored, the laser would burn them up. IF she was around vamps, she could change out to silver. Five big booms.
She liked her pistol as well. It was pretty standard stuff, but the burst fire mode was nice. The option of visible or IR laser sighting was nice.
Thinking about the shotgun, she decided to remind Janxi of her old rule. "We have to make sure we have some personnel-scale ranged weapons, especially in an HR situation. We go in, grease unarmored hostiles, and they're living in regular hooches, we could light up our own boys. Janx, you might want to grab something like an M40 (marine corps bolt action sniping rifle Janxi would be fiendish with) with some regular and silver rounds.
"Richardson, you and Doc should maybe think about getting something personnel scale, too. Silver bullets smoke vamps."
The little cat considered her needs again. "I could do with maybe five pounds of heavy plastic, and dets. The team needs a case of mini-claymores, if you have them with anti armour..."
Her eyes fell to Janxi again in thought. She looked back to the quartermaster. "What do you have in the way of a long-range, one-shot one-kill weapon? Her primary is that juiceboxer rifle she has. It has great range and good punch in burst mode, which makes her a bit inaccurate to snipe. Her sniper is a SAMAS P-Beam, decent single shot punch, but nothing special in range. Neither weapon will guarantee a kill against a foot mobile in heavy armour. I'm thinking of something like a pre-Rifts Barret .50 cal sniping rifle, that can destroy a foot mobile or light victor in a single shot."

Socrates read the bottle discretely, knowing quickly enough what the pills were. "Well, look, since we're in the realm of bluntness, how are we getting in?" He asks Sam and Shep, sitting down with them, and leaning in.
His voice lowered even more. Mostly out of caution in case some dog-wrangler heard him talk like this. "And when are you two going to start taking a more active lead? I know this isn't an easy group to command, but being a little more assertive will go a long way." He says. "With everything you two have riding on this mission, letting Tori run roughshod over your command, or letting Santiagio float like some civie, is simply out of the question." He sat up a little more straight, his ears pre-emptively folded back in the 'being scolded' position. "You two are the boss here, since it is your mission. None of us are, nor should we be allowed to be."

Autumn knowing how to use weapons and knowing what weapons are what is a little overwhealmed at the possibilities presented to her and just as confused. Realizing her first choice will cause contentions she decides to ask the person in front of her, the QM. "I am sorry but I am not up to par with all these weapons. I can tell you what I was told to get and with the help of my teammates hopefully will narrow it down. Personally I apparently need a pistol as this is what was given to me." As she pulls it out of her bag and puts the weapon on the counter. "Also do you have the manuals for these weapons you are profiling!"

"If you want to go the rifle route, and that's not a bad idea, the C-12 wouldn't be bad. It's accurate, packs a good single round punch and has good range. Then again, you can unload half an e-clip at once if you need firepower, too. It carries a cannister, so you've got some backup. Optics aren't bad either," Tori said as she waited for the quartermaster. "We'll make sure, whatever you get, you get a manual to read." The little cat assumed a doctor could read, given her education.
"Oh, and could you get Janxi 10 pounds of plastic as well please? When we're done here, you guys go on to the range and give Doc a workout, and me and Janxi are going to see about getting some intel, since XO doesn't answer cats, and Six is handling more important stuff. We'll hit the chaplain and the ELINT shack."

"I agree, the c-12 would be a good choice, but only if she is comfortable with it. Can you bring us a C-12 for the doctor with a canister loaded two spare and 5 long clips. Actually make that 8 Long clips, we'll go out and clear a few on the range so she gets a feel. Oh and the manual of course," he looks down at thee Doctor and smiles, "I'll show you how to use it."
He then looks at Tori and says, "Sure Tori, not sure how much more forthcoming ELINT will be, but wouldn't hurt. Let me know what you find out."
