[next morning]
As the squad assembled in the hangar aboard the Skylifter, Sam with an older trooper with Warrant Officer diamonds on his uniform(Shep) in tow were the last to arrive. The last of the supplies had been unloaded and now a couple damaged vehicles were being brought on board through the rear. Shep patted Socrates on the shoulder," Good to see at least one familiar face in the crowd."
" Lift in ten" Came over a loudspeaker

"Captain!" Sorates said, rigiding into a salute as he saw Sam. "Congratulations on the promotion, sir."
"Yes, sir." He said to Shep. "We have two new humans and two battle cats." In an odd quirk, he cocked his head. "I hope you're up to the challenge, sir."

Richardson sits in the hangar checking his gear. He looks around at the troops as they gather for this mission. He thinks, 'this is going to be interesting.' Spying Autumn he smiles to himself and if she looks at him, he'll give her his biggest toothy smile, and a wink. He won't go and talk to her, now its game time. His mind needs to focus on the task at hand and this OP. As he looks at everyone he notices the officer's approach, he yells, "ATTENTION!"(Ah-ten-SHON). He then stands at attention.

Autumn tries to avoid everyone when she boards the vehicle. Half of her is relieved and the other half is almost mildly annoyed that her guide of last night did not offer to help her with her bags, and not knowing what exactly she needs she brought all she could carry and quickly after laying the bags in front of her sits in the corner. Having not met the person in charge she is not sure what to think she hears "Attention" called. But not being military also knows she does not have to worry about that part and continues waiting until the commander comes and meets her.

Sam looks around at the new faces and smiles at Socrates as she replies. "Thank you." To the entire group, she says "Hello everyone, I'm Captain Sam Fraser, good to meet you all." Hearing the announcement for lift off, she adds "I'm sure we'll all get to know each other, but for now, let's move."

Given the command to move out, he grabs his gear then heads over to the Doctor. "Good day Doctor, can I help you get loaded on the plane," he asks as he grabs a handful of her gear and lifts it up to get it on the plane. Once on board, he helps her store her gear so it won't move during flight then storing his own rucksack he sits with the other soldiers. He likes the doctor, but he is a soldier on a military operation he can't lose sight of that or the commander will have his ass.

Socrates helps with the rest of the last-minute loading, making sure his gear made it on as well. "Captain, how well have you been breifed on the environment we're entering?" He asks, hoping to glean some more information as he hustles in and finds a seat, buckling in as he does.
When seated, he took more note of the damaged vehicles, wondering if they were damaged on the outside, but solid on the inside, and how well they would handle the terrain they were to enter.

(OOC - If you need to picture how I picture this imagine the first Stargate movie and how much stuff Dr. Jackson brought)
"No, no that is ok." speaking before seeing that obviously she was too late as he put her stuff away securely including her computer. Not wanting to be a pain and get him to pull it down she simply sits and says to him "Thank-you!" She then pulls out what appears to be a very, very old book with a faded picture of a women being held by a man and the words Danielle Steel on it.

Stephen sits with the other soldiers, strapping himself down between the dog boy and the cats. He doesn't say much unless addressed directly. He begins busying himself with his weapon to distract himself from the flight. He never told anyone, but he really hates flying. He knew as part of the military he would have no choice, so he sucks it down, but give him the choice, he'll be more than happy to stay on the ground.
He goes over his weapon, and the mission brief in his mind hoping that no one picks up on his discomfort.

Sam looks over at Socrates. "I've got some information, plus some more I'll be reading on the way. Is there anything specific you want to know?"

Socrates leans forward a little. "Why are we going and not a team from Lonestar or somewhere else further East?" He asks, quietly.

"I"m fine," Richardson answers trying to show that he is calm and fine. "The Doctor seems to be fine. She's sitting down with a book it seems."
He asks Sam, "Ma'am, How long will our flight be?"

Tori and Janxi had arrived in a Skull Patrol Car from the motor pool. It was very much the descendant of the Hum-Vee, down to its boxy style and mean looking turret on top. The two cats were dressed in their heaviest armour, though still in soft covers.
Dropping the tail-gate after reporting, they worked in silent tandem to load up a hand truck with heavy crates of armor, diving equipment and demo kits. They hung their field packs on next, and Tori grabbed several long gun cases, charging up the boarding ramp in a matter of seconds, with Janxi close on her heel, pushing the well laden hand truck. In all, the scene was rather comical, so see a chinese fire drill, and a Humvee used for a military clown car driven by a midget cat followed by her giant counterpart.
Tori and Janxi also wasted no time stowing their gear on the transport. For special forces, there really can be deployments at a moment's notice. There was certainly sudden deployments for two naughty kittens who almost overslept with tummies full of venison. Still, they were not the last so Tori was none too hard on herself.
With everything stowed, Tori did a mental roll call. "Leg-Humper, check, Pogue, check. Bomb smelling guy, check. XO looking guy, check. And CO looking-girl? Check." Tori was a little surprised the CO was a woman, with a name like Sam, but realized she shouldn't be too surprised as the first Shagcat Proof of Concept team had a tiger named Samantha.
She uncovered and took a place next to the cute bomb-smelling man. She liked his voice, too, but he seemed a bit green around the gills. Without seeing jumpwings on him, she wondered if he was afraid to hights. Listening to his nervous banter, she grew more and more certain. As if a full on pet cat to her nervous owner, she gaves him a reassuring nuzzle.
"Yes, Six. I have some questions and comments, if you will hear them," Tori said switching from her Redneck drawl, to a texan Military clip. "First, as this op is hostage rescue, I suggest we differentiate ourselves from the hotstage. Failure to do so would endanger our objectives who would be used as hostages, human shields or killed to adversely impact our morale. By going in as a rival red force or by going native, we may help the hostage situation as the enemy will leave them under a smaller guard to engage us. They will use our objectives as a rally point.
"Second, Sir. We're going to need data on what our objective's mission was when captured. That will give us a clearer indication of what our opposition may be. If our objectives were assigned a sweep and clear, observation, or to neutralize the force that holds them now, we would be safer knowing now, than finding out later. It would also help our ingress to know what branch of service they was in. If they're navy or 'corps, the gomers will be watching for boats and combat swimmers. They might have claymored the riverside.
"Third sir, the Colonel told us little intel was available. I would like to suggest we employ indirect method. If the gomers are using any kind of radio, we can listen in remotely and get a better read on who they are. If they are calling for supplies, informing some tentacle-faced mother-foxer of new prisoners, or talking to their demon-faced rotten-legged girlfriends, we could learn about them. Hell, sir. We'd know more about them if we knew what language they spoke. Any other secondary sources in the area, travelers, D-bees and mercs might talk, if given some incentive."
She sat back on the bench and hoped she hadn't said too much. People like the colonel would probably ask her to step outside for that, while the transport was at 10,000 feet, and ask her to leave her parachute behind.
"And sir, one matter I would like to speak to you privately and frankly about, once we are aloft?"
(I think liz is still having problems, but I was sick all weekend and not sure)

(Composed by Liz for Janx. Still having some trouble)
Janxi was busy trying to make some semblance of order of all the stuff that Tori insisted they'd bring. Janxi turned dark eyes on Tori and then a glance in the humans direction and growled low in her throat. "He's a human, how cute can he be?" Everything that came out of Jan's mouth sounded like a threat whether she intended it too or not. She shook her head and heaved a sigh when she heard the barrage of questions aimed at the officer. Jan smirked inwardly and said silently to herself. Just smile and nod.
