Richardson motions for the door with his rifle, then moves outside the mess. He takes a look around, and tries to pinpoint where they need to head.

T-Bone had no reservations about following Richardson. He was mostly civil to her, and seemed to have something resembling a clue.
"Alright, corporal. I can't read none of this, so look out for a sign with a rifle or some dynamite or somethin'." She scanned the pathway for pictographs for rifles, bullseyes, sticks of dynamite or "somethin'" to get a rough idea of where to go.
She didn't want to talk turkey until they were well away from the chow hall. "Doctor (a change for her), we got some stuff we gotta talk about. First of all though, I gotta know how much shootin' and trainin' you really done. Tell me what you shot, when you shot it, and if anyone learnt you how to clean it when you was done shootin' it."

" I don't really need a babysitter, Socrates." Shep smirked as the dogboy stayed put. " It's just a headache. find anything intersting in there?"
He looked up as he saw Sam approaching, and tapped his brow to both give a half hearted salute and indicate to Soc that an officer was coming up behind him. He looked up at her studying their pcs," The rest of the kids are gone to draw some new toys, but since they're all worried about me having headaches from that little bump I took, Soc here drew the short straw and has to watch over me." He chuckled. " So what's the word?"
The rest of the squad found the quartermaster office, a heavily armored bunker of a building with no windows. Inside the door was a small room with a human and a boxer dog boy sitting discussing the new PREDator Arms weaponry, particularly the sniper rifle. The human soldier looked up," You lookin fer sumthin?" he asked with a definite Lone Star accent.

"That's not why I stayed, sir." Socrates says. "But I'm flattered you'ld think I am so kind." Rising, he also saluted Sam, with the practiced quickness any Dog Boy should show in the presence of humans. It seemed to make them feel moe at ease, he had noted, long ago.

Tori felt at home at once with a fellow Lone Starian. "Howdy. SOG needin' some explosive ordinance for special detail." She produced her ID, which she could not read and passed it to the human, and took note of their ranks and branch of service.
"SO-3 Tori with Capt. Sam Fraser's team," she introduced.

Sam nods and returns the salutes and looks concerned as she asks Shep. "Headaches? What headaches? The doctor back on base didn't say anything." She worries that perhaps she pulled Shep out of the hospital too soon and he should have had more time to recover from the explosion that had put him in there.

"Headaches of promotion and leadership." Socrates elaborates. "How do things look for aid from Fort Machais, ma'am?"

" It's nothing painkillers can't deal with, Captain. The doctors back at Griggs told me I'd have them for a while." Trassk replied with a shrug. " Our Doc has already started looking into it, and I'm sure I can count on Soc here to watch out for me." He changed the subject," any word on our guide?"
The quartermaster nodded as Tori introduced herself," And what exactly did you folks need?

"Well, Doc, what do you carry now? I was thinking of getting you a Wilk's pistol for range and accuracy, and a TX-26 for some hurtcha. We'll test you out on maybe a C-12 and a CP-40, to see if you are good with either and which ya like best."
Tori turned to the quartermaster with a thoughtful look on her face. "Claymores, maybe some plasma grenades, plastic, remote det kits with caps, and fusion blocks, if you'll share. Maybe some det cord... I also want a look at your red force gear, cuz our mission just begs for goin' in lookin' native."
Her gaze looked over to Richardson. "Think the snagglepusses in our team would gripe about having to hump det gear, our are they gonna do their share?" Meaning, in order to carry a meaningful amount of explosives, team members usually had to carry a few claymores or some other explosives on a LRP.
"Janx. I think helos and boats are out if a hurricane is coming in. That means we're probably gonna have to use ground victors (vehicles). Let's see if they have one of those Wellington GL20's to mount on top for you to play with. If ever a weapon screamed 'Janxi' it's a GL-20. We won't take it yet. Jeez, we're already at the candy store and don't even have a plan of ingress or a mode of travel. This is foxed." Tori shook her head and returned her attention to the quartermaster.
"Let's start in sidearms for the doc. Show us whatcha got, amigo."

Richardson watches the cat basically take over, he doesn't mind though. In answer to Tori he says, "I'm sure everyone will carry their load. Regardless of how things have been so far, we're a team. Hold off on anything vehicle mounted, for all we know we'll be going in on foot."
After a pause he says almost nonchalantly, "By the way, she prefers to be called Doctor, not Doc."
He turns to Santiago and says, "so Doctor, I don't know how familiar you are with rifles, but your going to need one. What would you feel you could handle? What have you handled before?"

"Oh, so we are getting a local guide, then?" Socrates asks, turning from Shep to Sam. "More importantly, how are we gettng in, Captain? If you read - um, review Shep's reports, it seems that the safest way is to teleport."

"Well to answer the question they gave me this pistol!" As she holds up backwards as not to be stupid her C-18 Laser Pistol. "And of rifles and names of weapons I am sorry but I know precious little other then how to use them effectively." The only reason she knew the name of the weapon she had is because of her reading the manual as she does with every weapon should she have the chance.

"C-18 is pretty much standard. It's an okay baseline, but I'd rather you have a TX-26. NutSet prix sometimes carry them to light up big baddies. If they ain't got 'em, a CP-30 is about the best we will get. I like the Wilk's, too for her. Even though she can plink all day with the thing and it will only piss people off, you have to be a retard to miss, and it has great range.
"Doctor," she asked to please her human, though still didn't have that much respect for her. "I assume you can field strip and clean pistols, and work out coldfires, load and unload... Can you do the same with rifles?"
She considered Richardson's words before nodding. "We're just lookin' right now. The way things are going so far, we may be given rubber boats to paddle in.
"Now we need to talk, Doc," Tori said forgetting herself. "XO, he looked physically capable in the Death's Head when we played handball. What's your diagnosis? Any lingering injuries, or does he have another problem we need to know about? Also, if you are not a military medical officer, would you be able to relieve him. I need you to shoot straight with me, Missy, cuz out there, we can't afford any fox ups. I'm worried enough about you, as a friend, 'cuz this is only a mission and terrain me and Janxi will love. I'm worried XO ain't up to it. Better tell us now than seeing him black out in the middle of the firefight, or snag all the morphine out of your toolbox."

The Doctor realizing that the cat is asking a question turns and answers. "Yes I do know the proper maintenance of the weapons I can use, and about the info you are attempting to request, unfortunately that violated Doctor and patient confidentiality as such can not share that information save if the Captain requests it. My apologies!" Viewing what is being she has to wonder if it is really concern as the way it is worded is almost as a threat, but she does have her ethics to uphold regardless.

"Doc," Tori purred. "I understand you are new to special warfare. A team will break apart on its weakest member. You are not his doctor, you are a member of his team, and allowed to make yer feelin's known. This ain't the civilian world, neither. If there is a problem, ya gotta tell yer team! I guess I gotta remind you, yer life is on the line out there, same as us. If ya can't answer straight questions, just talk general and stuff. We need to know what we're up against. Socrates is just a snagglepuss. We can deal with that, and function as a team. If one of our team mates has a medical problem, that is a major liability to all of us. Shoot straight, and do the right thing.
"Oh, and doc? If you can strip down a rifle, then I reckon you can have one!"
[dice=100] to trust needing a 45.
Tori seemed fairly sincere, but her felineness got in the way. She seemed to be on the hunt, and may possibly be striking down a rival. Still, her points were valid about an injured man playing handball, then popping pills. It was food for thought.[rand=466047686460856612006502779461203273334521582450535391925149063976]
