"If it is not too far out of line is there any chance for a backup weapon I could request one of those intriguing shotguns at all. If we are allowed to have other backup weapons. And I still would not mind the manuals for the weapons." The Doctor speaks up.

"Sure Doctor, we can get you a shotgun as a backup. You'll still want the rifle for the range." He turns to the QM, "grab her a PRED-S13 please, with some clips for that, tell you what grab me one of those too."

"I would still think 'bout upgradin' your backup, Doc." Tori said thoughtfully. Her tail stood mostly upright but the tip twitched from side to side. It was pretty clear she was in a good mood again. "The C-18 is just middle o' the road. You want something that'll hurt a dinosaur. I'm thinkin' maybe a CP-20. If she's gotta rifle, she don't need the Wilk's. Just make sure she knows how to load, unload and clean it when she's done playin'. Once we get our grab bag, we're rollin'.
"Doc? Shotguns ain't to bad of a thing." She patted her own underslung SDC shotgun affectionately. "Humpin' two primaries through the swamp ain't much fun. Even Janx and I are gonna leave a lot of our toys at home. If we're swimmin', we'll take our water guns, too. Otherwise, we'll leave her snipin' rifle in the victor. 'Course, we're takin our bows, but that's just cuz we get real sneaky with them. For you, either the rifle or the shotgun, a pistol, maybe a slugthrower, and whatever kinda cutlery you like best.
"Try the C-12, try the scattergun. See what ya like. If you feel like yer better off with a pistol, get something heavy for sure, and take a look if they got a Wilk's. Think about more than how good ya shoot. Think 'bout weight, comfort, and your ability to load, unload, clean and use it right. When you got the right set, yer set to get some!"

Sam nods at Shep as she hands back the painkillers. "I think you'd be a better teacher than you think. Besides," she smirks, "I'm older than you are. Maybe they'll be putting me out to pasture soon as well."
Sam looks surprised at Socrates speech and sighs quietly as she says "You're right." Placing her computer on the table, she turns it on as she explains "We'll be working with their best guide who is due back from the field shortly. Part of why I'm here now is to go over what would be a good insertion point, since I am unfamiliar with the area and know that you've been further South than I have, Shep."

Tori nearly forgot her last request, but realized it may be important now, "Oh Q? Ba-fore I fergit, can I git two or three of the heavy limpets for me and fuzzface here?" She gestured to Janxi and wondered what she was thinking. She suspected she was still steamed about Socrates and daydreaming of Jaguar love bites.

"That is a valid point, can I also get, I don`t know that one (as she points to the PRED-P6 Assault Pistol) then for a new pistol like weapon please. And I guess 2 e-clips for that as well?" When done she will grab her own gun as well still as an emergency just in case weapon.

" You're lucky we just got a shipment of these in. The last two deliveries had guys lining out the door." the quartermaster said as he started checking out weapons. With the S13's, he laid a box of earplugs. " You'll want these."
The dog doy retreived a half dozen limpets and set them on the counter.
The quartermaster looked at the Dog Boy as if he had said something and chuckled, " anything else folks? Kitchen sink maybe?"

Shep shook his head," Sam, you know I'm not classroom material. And that just means you're aging more gracefully than me. besides, while you were in officer training, I was already in the field " He pulled out a tattered map that looked like he had been carrying it a long time. " I'm sure things have changed around here, but if we're going to use this storm for cover, our best bet is probably to get ahead of it and on the ground before the wind kicks up too bad. But we need that intel our guide has on they're last known location. I'm guessing we're headed out towards the Cape though. That's where I'd head for to hole up. "
He turned to Socrates. " We'll handle the cat. Keep in mind, they aren't known for being team players. they get out of line, they'll get put back in , but I'm guessing once we hit the ground, they'll come around. I only know one cat that has much for social skills when not in the field, and he...," He turned to Sam suddenly," did the colonel say who our guide was?"

"Not right now, but I'm workin' hard to go native on this hump. We might need some red force gear a lil later on. Anyhow, thanks, Brother. We like to blow (stuff) up. " Tori did what she could to stow the gear and passed Janxi her share of limpets, plastic, det cord and claymores, assuming they were included. As far as SDC weapons went, she had her shotgun. Both she and Janxi had bows. She had claws, knives and teeth. Janxi's claws and teeth could open the armour of a tank in a matter of seconds. At this point, they didn't need any slug throwers.
"We gotta go get right with God." She shot Janxi a wink. "Can ya tell us where Chaplain Charlie's office is at?"
She gives the remaining claymores and det cord to Richardson, with a purr. "This is for you. Take your share and give the rest to the officers. Make sure Socrates carries a few claymore mines and does his share." At that, she gives the EOD another nuzzle against his cheek with the whiskery side of her face. Anyone with a real sense of smell would realize he had been claimed by a cat.
"Make sure Doc doesn't break her shoulder with that mule!"

Looking at the shoguns, it is apparent he is pleased. he looks at the QM. "What about the c-12 or the 303? I know the 303 is a not your ordinary weapon, but the c-12 is standard issue, you should have one laying around here somewhere."
He turns to Tori, taking the gear she offered him. He says, "don't worry, I'm sure everyone will carry their load. I'm going to show her how to shoot it. If she can't she can't take it with her."
Turning to the QM again he gives him a guilty smile, "any chance you have a spare duffel?"

Socrates listened to Shep's report. In his own mind, making for the Cape, no matter what, seemed prudent, since it would at least shield the team. "You sound like the cape is the best way, target or no target, sir." He says.
"I am aware that they're blowhards, sir." Socrates says in response to Shep, as calm as ever. "It's just distracting how they blow so much."
At the mention of the guide, he turned back to Sam, as well, since, like Shep, he only knew they were getting one. The wheels, however, given context, were starting to turn.

Autumn gathers all of her stuff and puts everything in her duffel until she can sort it out for proper places on where to store the weapons on her armour. "I guess I am good to go for the range!"

Chaplian is in that quonset past the CO's quarters. Just before the hangar, if Rev is there. He spends most of his time in the infirmary helping out."
The dog boy collected a couple duffle bags and set them on the counter.
" You'll understand once you get used to the place, Soc. There aren't alot of places around here that isn't crawling with dinosaurs or barbarians, and the Cape is out on the coast, another plus if slavers are involved."

Autumn just listens to the boys talk shop still baffled by what they are saying but hopes they are speaking of her getting the rifle and new pistol. (OOC - in last post thought they did but dome pointed out she might not of yet) She continues to make mental notes for future of maybe submitting a paper on the theory of men and the size and power of guns they need.

Richardson shrugs with an apologetic smile, "sorry guess we should have stated that sooner. Yeah 60 pounds shouldn't be a problem."
He grabs a duffel and starts loading all the gear he has been given. He lets the doctor grab her own weapons. If she is going to carry them in the field she needs to carry them now.
