Ch 14: A Night Out, or: Those Darn Caveliers

[Dome]

"I'm a grumpy depressed man. Half the time I don't feel like myself because almost half of me is artificial. If I don't feel whole, how could I expect anyone, let alone a beautiful woman to see me as a man they wanna be around?."

After a pause and a sip, he gets a sly grin and says, "so you think I look good huh?"

[sasqaricious]

Realizing what she just said she blushes completely and guzzles the rest of her drink in one swig. "Um, yes, yes I did thay that. And you're not grumpy and if you're depressed maybe like I said Daveris did her voodoo on you too and that is why I am here. Maybe thats why she was so wanting to get us together. But I don't know."

[Dome]

"I don't believe in Voodoo. You think she planned this? Planned for us to be left alone on what has obviously become a date? So before you get too blitzed, where do we go from here?"

[sasqaricious]

"Where do we go from here, how do you mean. How do we spend the rest of the night, um, ok well dancing is out. Not that I am sure I can dance. We could go flying but I am unsure if you can fly and um, I am not sure how much you weigh wo I do not know if I can carry you. I mean is it illegal to fly while intoxicated. Not that I would but it would be an interesting idea." At this point she is intoxicated.

"Or do you mean the other way, which I am not sure. I mean do we go back to your place, or I don't know. What is the protocol. Or is it do you mean where the relationship goes, and as anxious as I am I mean I think there is some rule about being scared on first date when someone brings stuff like that up. I am just so unsure. Maybe we need a couple of shooters?" Unless stopped when the waitress comes by she will order a couple of sweet shooters.

[Dome]

"Stop Mei," Kendall says with a chuckle. "First of all, I don't think we need anymore alcohol. Secondly your right, sorry for asking that question. Probably not a question to ask on the first date, especially when your just realizing this is a date, and the person your with is talking about flying while intoxicated."

He can't help but laugh a little and says, "haven't had much experience with alcohol have you? Next time, don't chug, sip. Oh and don't slice your hand open no matter how fast you heal. What time do you have to get back? Do you have a curfew with this competition?"

[sasqaricious]

"That is ok, I was just checking on the protocols is all. And ok no more alcomohol for me then. And don't you fret, I would never fly in this condition. Oh did I tell you I can fly too. And no I do not think I have a curfew. I might though, I am not sure how to check. And I gulped the first drink so I would have the nerve to cut myself and look no scar. It is so cool."

She then realizes what she is sounding like and breathes a little more deeply so she can center her self. "I am sorry, you are correct when you said I do not have much experience with alcomohol. But that is ok, I probably will not have more for a very, very long time. And you know what I like and trust you enough. If you want you can call me by my given name my parents gave me, which is Kristi!"

[Dome]

"Ok Kristi, well you know what you need now? Water, lots of water. Otherwise your going to have a hangover tomorrow. Can't perform with a hangover.

He asks the waiter to bring them a few glasses and a pitcher of water.

"You can call me Peter if you want. Maybe we should call Dev and ask her if you have to back by a certain time. Don't want you risking the competition on me."

[sasqaricious]

"Um, k. Water is probably a good thing. And contacting Daveris is probably a good idea but I have no idea what her number is. So I am not sure if we need to or not. You know what I will leave th decision in your hands, although in hindsight I probably should try to sober up. And don;'t worry it shant take super long with my abilities." She hangs her head.

"I am sorry this is really not the date I intended on having and I should of not had so much alcomohol. But thank-you for taking care of me never the less right now."

[Dome]

"Don't worry about it. I laid alot on you. Your handling it pretty good I think. Why don't we just wait a bit have some water, talk some more until your feeling more sober, then I'll walk you back."

[sasqaricious]

"Oh that would be cool. So then seeing we have time to kill is there anything you want to know about me? I mean we can go you then me, then you and on and on."

[Dome]

Kendall chuckles then says, "I don't know we have covered quite a bit already. Why do you go by Mei if your given name is Kristi?"

[sasqaricious]

"Mei was the name I was born too, and I had planned if ever I made it in any way shape or form I would use it as a name instead of my real one which could be looked up. I know, I know that is a big if but still. My moms named me Kristi so I let anyone that actually knows me call me that. I was going to tell Daveris that but actually you are probably the person alive that knows the most about me. So my turn now, Peter is a nice name but you seem to prefer Kendall, any reason?"

[Dome]

"Again goes back to the military. Commanding officers don't use first names much. Usually just a rank or your last name. Unless your on a mission, then they use code names. I'm not in the military anymore so going by major isn't really an option you know. Who do you think is your biggest competition in the contest?"

[sasqaricious]

"You were a major in the military, that is soo cool. And as to my competition in the contest. I am not sure. I was actually told that I was one of the favoured to win the show. I kinda hope that is true though. Hmmm my turn. You said you can run really fast, what else can you do?"

[Dome]

"Well, besides both legs, they replaced my eye, and gave me telescopic vision. Like I said, amplified hearing, motion detector. Some of this stuff would have come in handy on some of my missions. Also one arm," he says flexing his fingers, "is super strong, and I have like a stun gun built in."

He pauses as if he is done then says, "oh yeah almost forgot, i have a high tension line with a grapnel and launcher built into the arm. With the bionics in my arm, and legs, the exoskeleton i can probably lift a small car over my head."

Kendall takes a longer drink from his scotch than he has been after his description. Looking back at Mei he says, "Well Kristi, when you win, what are your plans? LA? Hollywood?"
