Cap wipes down some of the sweat, eyes still focusing on what's going on outside.

Darkness had fallen quickly once they were indoors, and from what he could see, not much was moving outside. "Mom, please. I don't want to stay here with Logan. I wanna go..." Tabitha flinched, and Cap's hand was batted away as she shot up to a semi sitting position. " What the... where the heck...," she gave Cap a dirty look, " Hero or not, you better start talking."

"You passed out. From Hypothermia. I'm sorry that I pushed you too hard. You're lucky to be here." Cap responds.

"The village we were approaching. Appears to be a dead end though. We'll set out back in the morning. You should rest and recover your strength." Steve stretches his legs out on the floor.

" Yeah, I guess." Tabitha replied, holding the expression. " How stupid. I know better." she forced herself up and looked around. " Tell me this place has plumbing. and something to drink to get an ugly taste," she licked her lips and scowled," off my lips."

"That's really just about all you're going to get. Sorry, but I thought the hot liquid would help warm you up." Cap sighs, removing his mask. "And it's my fault for pushing you. So, how about a truce?"

Tab nodded" Truce. Don't blame yourself. I've had enough training to know better than to overexert myself like tha..." Then a panicked look came over her as her hands immediately went to her back, searching for something. " My saber! Where is it?" She looked around frantically, her voice bordering on loud enough to wake the old man." Oh lord I can't have dropped it! I..I gotta go back and find it!" Her tone more than a hint of panic.

Cap puts a hand on her shoulder. "It's pitch black without even starlight and you're already tired and not at top form. Rest. We'll find it in the morning."

" No way." Tabitha wasn't listening, and not thinking straight either. " I gotta find it. I was slung acrossed my back when I stoppedbecause I was getting tired." She looked at Captain America. " It must have slipped off when you picked me up. If you point me in the right direction I'll be back quick as I can. I'll be a little slower, but the cold won't bother me this time." She transformed to her metallic form, grabbing the old man's flashlight from a shelf by the door and then stepped outside, through the wall as she said," Come on, I'm losing time."

"Listen, you aren't going out in the pitch blackness, and you definitely aren't going out there alone. You'll likely die." Steve's voice is deadly serious.

" You don't understand." Tabitha was practically pleading as she turned around, already down the stairs, her metallic skin reflecting the light from inside the shack. " How would you feel if the tables were turned and I had left your shield out there? I gotta go find it. Just tell me which way we came."
Outside, Steve could tell the temperatures had dropped alot since they had arrived.

"I'd tell you that a piece of metal isn't worth a human life, not under any circumstances. I actually lost this shield once not too long ago in the Atlantic Ocean, so I know exactly how you feel." Captain America responds evenly

" No you don't." Tabitha exclaimed. " Is that frisbee of yours the only thing you have left from your parents? I highly doubt it. " She reverted to her normal form and wiped the tears forming in the corners of her eyes. she wrapped her arms around herself against the bitter cold. She groaned in frustration, changing back into her metallic form," Why bother? you know what, you go do what you do best and worry about everyone else. Luckily spending all that time with General Logan makes me used to depending on myself. good Luck, Captain America." she started off in the wrong direction.
Behind the house, something had set off the old man's huskies.

Captain America sighs. "You're going in the wrong -" He looks towards the back of the house, straining his every sense to determine what's going on.
