As the others vanished, Tabitha turned to Captian America. Her tone seemed to relax, yet became completely respectful. " Well, that was easier than I expected. Well, you lead the way, Sir." As the cold arctic winds began to come up, she changed into her metallic form to protect herself.
The Quinjet was nearly out of sight when fury contacted them," I hate to tell you this, but we just passed over a definite trail heading due west from the blast area. Someone definitely survived the explosion."
" Good place to start, Captain." Ghostsabre stated, looking in that direction. " Hey, are you sure those star spangled underwear of yours are warm enough?"

Captain America smiles. "You know, in my timeline, your 'Uncle' Logan said that to me when we first met. I'll manage." As he follows the trail. "Alright Fury, hourly contacts. When you get some Search and Rescue people to get your wounded out, you let me know."

Fury replied. " Always worrying about someone else. You watch your six, boyscout, we don't know anything about these new arrivals." His transmission was already starting to break up because of the range.
If Tabitha was phased by Fury's comments, it didn't show. " It doesn't suprise me the General would say something like. He's one of the few people that seems pretty much the same in every dimension. He told me one time when I caught him looking at an old photo of him with some friends just how much he respecred you. Of course he's a bit of a sentimental softie in his old age." she smirked. " He also claimed Fury was a good man before the brood got him and made him one of their field commanders."
As they trekked towards the trail, the helicarrier's remains continued to filled the air with secondary explosions and a column of smoke rose at least a mile above it.

Captain America follows the trail looking for the SHIELD pilot. "Keep your eyes open, there might still be some Brood stragglers. And now, hopefully, my world won't end up on the same path as yours."

" Um, Captain, theres something else you should know." Tabitha began. " Part of the Exiles mandate is we only recruit..., oh gross." she cut herself off as she spotted something partially buried in the snow. It was hard to tell what the gore was, but the snow was bloodsoak around it.

Captain America features become slightly ashen as he sighs, looking for ID or dogtags. "Speak your mind, soldier." he says to Tabitha, as if to help calm her.

Cap finds what he is looking for, and his suspicions are right as he recognizes the face of his former pilot. Something had eviserated him and left him here. by the severity of the wounds, it was over quickly.
Ghostsabre's voice was barely loud enough to be heard," You were supposed to die on that ship. You, Fury, X23. Everyone. We only intervene just in the nick of time and only recruit people who aren't supposed to live, so no one knows where they are. That's how we all got recruited. I just sort of broke the rules and got involved to save my parents. I haven't even been born here, so my timeline is accelerated compared to here too by at least twenty years. hopefully Timebroker won't be too upset. He's the one that sort of runs things ."
She looked at Cap," Sorry sir, probably too much to digest at once, huh?"

Cap sighs as he removes the dogtags, his eyes close for a brief moment. "I'm not dead and not going anywhere at the moment except to find out what killed this man and take care of it. you're welcome to come if you wish." as he continues following the trail.

Tabitha lowered her head and shook it. " They warned me you could be hard on the head." She sighed and moved up to walk aside Cap. " Look, I know that you're one of the greatest heroes of all time, and I'm just a lowly dimension hopping mutant, but don't you think it would be easier if we work together?"

" Well I can tell you by the claw marks, it looks alot like someone infected by the Brood did it. Which means there's at least one of them that was off the carrier." Her expression betrayed she was grinding her teeth. " We'll find it and any others. According to this," she pulled out a map of the region," there's only one settlement within fifty miles, and it looks like the trail Fury spotted heads that way. It's got a head start on us though." She offered Cap the map to see for himself.

"There will be plenty of personel handy to deal with any stragglers in the vicinity of the wreckage, but if the creature gets to the town, they'll be helpless." He slings his shield over his shoulders and gives a wry smile. "I'll try to pace myself so you can keep up." as he begins racing forward at best possible speed.
