Solomon's last checks assured him that he and Avi were the only two still alive in the room., but he could tell that several of his caste had cast spells during the fight. A closer inspection of Hiram's body tld him that the burns on his chest were almost electrical in nature, and a powerful blast at that. Far above the capabilitis of most of the guild members he knew.

"they tried to fight back" Solomon stood flipping out his cell phone "I have to try to get hold of Nathaniel or Hassleback to find out what exactly happened here" quickly dialing the first of the two numbers, holding his breath waiting for someone, anyone, to answer.

Nathaniel's phone went to his voicemail, but when Solomon tried Hassleback, it was picked up with a gruff, " Yes?"

"Yuri? oh, thank God. it's Solomon. I'm at the sanctuary. is Nathaniel with you? is he alright? are the two of you safe? what happened here?"

" He's here, but he's injured." Yuri replied gruffly. "Can't talk, have to try to heal him some more. At my shop."
Solomon knew where that was. Yuri's tobacco shop was only a dozen or so blocks away. Avi had stepped away, using his band-adio.

"I don't think coming to you would be a smart move in case we're followed. I don't want to compromise anyone any further. call me back when you get Nathaniel stabilized and we'll arrange a safe meeting place"

"no, I'll talk to my contacts to determine our next move" Solomon trails off as he ends the call and pockets his phone turning to look at Avi "Yuri and Nathaniel are safe. I got the location, but I'm not sure we should impose" looking around for Kendall "and what about him?"

Solomon nods continuing to survey the carnage "you're right. let's go find him." walking out of the sanctuary "Kendall?" Solomon called, looking for him.
"I spoke with Yuri. he's tending to Nathaniel, but they're both safe. go home. there's nothing more to be done here for now. if you need anything, call me, and Kendall? keep the lights on"
turning to Avi "now what? how do we handle this? I can't see calling the police. I wouldn't even know how to begin to explain this. can your group help? you said you worked for the government"

" Yes sir." Kendall replied. " If there's anything I can do, call me." He said, and hurried out.
Avi shrugged. " This isn't our area of expertise, but Control has had experience with magic before, and I know of a couple of agents who deal with mystical arts. And we do owe you for your help at the hospital from what I'm told. Have to check with Isamu, or Alice if she's back yet."

Avi looked around. " So, this is your show. What about the bodies? I know it sounds awful, but unless there's alot of vital stuff stored here, a fire is going to save alot of questions from the police niether of us want."

Solomon looked at Avi a little confused "I thought that's what we were just talking about? you said your friends could help with the investigation to keep the police out of it? did I misunderstand what you were referring to?" Sol just stood there looking at Avi for a moment with a bit of a worried expression on his face. "I don't know if I could bring myself to the course of action you're suggesting. the inner sanctum also serves as our library." "this is where all of our Guild's history, records and research are kept. if it were destroyed, then we would not only lose our friends, but everything they devoted their entire lives to. no, I'm sorry. that's just not an acceptable option" "even though it's all stored in a secure vault in the basement, if anything were damaged, Yuri would hunt me down without mercy, and Nathaniel would never forgive me." Solomon shakes his head. "no, I'm afraid if your friends can't help us, I'll have to let Yuri decide how to handle the rest of this once he finishes attending to Nathaniel. he is one of the founding members. now, if you'd be willing to humor me for just another few moments?" Solomon turns back toward the sanctuary "the problem with using modern techniques to investigate that which occurs outside the realm of science is that very little can be learned. I haven't found any clues or leads to follow. I need more answers" Solomon takes a seat on the floor in front of the doorway facing into the sanctum "please just bear with me a few more moments. this is what led me to your friends, Ashley and Dmitri, when Fielder abducted them" "the scales have been tipped and the balance has shifted. I must leave it to Fate to re-balance the scales" turning his attention back to the room beyond, Solomon focuses and begins chanting an obscure incantation (Oracle, 30 ppe) (see psychic Clairvoyance, 58% base chance + 5% because friends / loved ones involved) "show me who is responsible for this" but after a several moments, nothing comes ( 1d100=77 ) Solomon opens his eyes "something is blocking me" his brow furrows in determination "then let's try this" focusing again, Solomon recasts the spell "show me what's next to come following this" ( 1d100=25 ) and opens his mind to the visions of the coming storm |

" No. we can help. I meant that..., never mind" Solomon could hear Avi say before the vision took over. He was in Yuri's shop, and there was a confrontation of some sort. Avi was on the floor, as was Nathaniel. Yuri was clearly enraged, and in the midst of casting a spell. Sol got the impression he was the intended target.
