After a brisk paced, yet cautious trek following the Colonel's tracking device, it brought them to a small clearing a half mile beyond the village. Though no one is present in the clearing, the tracking implant continued to move irradically nearby until a rat crossed a deadfall, its fur mottled with dried blood. As the rat stopped a moment to look at the patrol, the tracking marker stopped as well.
The rat let out a squeak and darted from place as a huge shadow past overhead. Any who looked up fast enough, they caught a glimpse of the dark scales of a dragon flying just above the treeline at a high speed possibly in the direction Shep had been heading.

As soon as Dyson sees the rat, he he wonders what happened to Mikey and morosely thinks to himself *I saw this in a movie once, didn't I. The one where the bad guy(big guy with accent, wasn't he) was working for the authorities. They had his memory erased so he could do some kind of job for them, but having his memory erased was what turned him into the bad guy because he got involved with a bunch of mutants and a D-Bee device on another planet. It was so anti-climactic when that ugly cop shot the bad guy inside the device at the end, I have no idea why they wrote it like that. It was like the writers just desided to end the movie before it got to the ending they had been planning. What was that called anyway.*
Dyson looks up from the quickly moving shadow on the ground, just catching sight of the dragons tail as it swoops overhead. After a stunned half second Dyson high tails it to the edge of the clearing and some tree cover, preferable in the same direction as the other squads persons if they do the same.

*MAriana looks up, just short of reaming Mendez out for making her lose the trail when the dragon flies overhead* "That must be Koor..."
"Well... that tears it..." *shakes her head* "If the Colonel has no objections to me taking my life in my own hands, I'ld like to follow the dragon?... Unless, of course, the rat's got a full borg hiding in his stomach, or, perhaps, you'ld like to trek back to the lost trail. Cause if that's who I think it is, I am so not going to Westvale right now."
*She turns to Mendez, her voice hinting with acidity* "Well? You gonna command here or what?"

Rhys looks up with an arched brow. When Mariana makes her comment he looks to her. "Sergeant Smith, drop the attitude. It's already gotten old. So can it already, it doesn't help us accomplish our mission. Keep your snide comments to yourself and if you have a suggestion then make it but without the attitude." He then looks to the Colonel. "It looks like Mikey ditched the tracker or he's in worse trouble than we thought." Looking back to Mariana. "And it looks like you are witholding information Sergeant. Now tell us what you know about that dragon"

Looking to Mariana "Enough with your attitude Sergeant. And you are hiding something about that dragon. You said something that sounded like a name. Koor, is what you called it. Now spill it Smith. Tell us what you know of such a beast." His voice cold and almost carrying a razored edge of anger.

Mendez gets in Mariana’s face and growles;"Sergeant Smith, don’t ever threaten one of my men again. Now take point and follow that dragon. I think it's headed for shep." then he addresses the rest of the squad; "hopefully mikey's ok, we'll have to come back for him. Let’s move quickly people."

*Then at the request to take point.* "Yes sir."
*She proceeds to pull out her weapon and examine it, and a few hand grenades from her back pack. But has not left the spot where she's standing.*

"Ma'am, this is ridiculous. Please just cooperate for this mission and if you feel so strongly about disliking everyone put in for a change of orders afterwards. Right now we need everyone to stick together and get out of here alive." Ellie says with a look of fluster. "But please don't be reckless and intentionally get anyone hurt. Oh, and don't you even bring up Sgt. Salinger to me." Ellie says confidently with a slight hint of a threat. "Now Ma'am with all do respect shut up and color."

Again Dyson falls in with Col. Mendez and heads off after the dragon.
Just to himself Dyson says " Okay Dyson, we're following the dragon, just stay calm. We're not attacking the dragon and we're probably not even going near the dragon. Just following the dragon." After this Dyson focuses on NOT saying or thinking the word dragon any more and just breathing deeply to help him keep up with everyone else.

*Mariana slides the clip back into her rifle as Ellie provides her two cents* "See, now, really, I'm surprised none of you are checking your weapons. Honestly. Going up against a demon that could kill you fast than Mendez can make a bad decision, and not thinking of your own defense. But what do I know, I'm only a soldier. And, it's not attitude. It's experience." *She slides the clip in with a loud click and moves out in the dragon's path*
(Present forwards to the now)
*On the way, she mumbles to herself how soldiering should really be left to soldiers, and not day-care rejects*
"Oh, and anyone that's not trained to kill things should hold back. Just my opinion."
