Khris completed his loop, then backtracked until he reached the opening. He took a seat, feeling like he was letting the others down despite his issues. He took out his phone and texted Tiger, not know whether it would even work.

* Jeckle knows that she's useless for just now, so she remains to the side and crosses the arms and waits for a minute, before moving to the ground where one picture had been.
* she looks at the ground carefully for any possible pressure traps .. and then looks up to examine the ceiling for the same thing. wondering if that has anything to do with anything. cycling thru the various settings on the glasses. if she finds nothing, she wont push the issue but it was better to do something and double check the safety as opposed to not doing anything and walking into a trap

While waiting for Dante to try to read the objects, Tiger checks Kris' message. She responds - Wait a moment. Feels safe here, still it doesnt hurt having one of us out of the cave. - T

Khris read Tiger's reply, and sighed in relief. He put his phone away, and then found a good vantage point to cover the hole and watch both trails. He considered getting out his mp3 player, but decided against it.

Tiger looked around the cavern wondering which creatures Dante would pick to test. All kinds of animals, monsters and legendary creatures adorned the walls, from a pine marten, to a gryphon, from a tiger. to a werewolf. The only pattern was that each appeared only once, though there were some similar creatures.

* Jeckle stares at one of the pictures 'oh man .. he'd like that one. really wish i had a camera .. ' *she stares instead and remembers the picture to memory. the Gryphon reminds her of her brother. the close bond moves to the surface briefly as she wonders where he is .. and if he's safe.
*then after commiting it to memory, she looks about at the rest of the pictures now, for the sake of the pictures represented. 'i wonder .. what if this is a test? we have to find what seems to call to us and then have to undergo a rite of passage to get to the next stage? that might explain why there are missing ones? or not. i might just be talking to hear myself talk. sorry'

' .. aren't keys a way to a goal?. well look about. what's your favorite animal or creature? do you see it? i know that my brother liked those ones. said the mix of the eagle and lion was .. you know .. powerful. one's the king of the air .. the other? .. king of the land. but hey, i'm the one that over thinks things and tinkers with gadgets. what do i know of ancient tricks and puzzles. i'm amazed that the age of these paintings includes all these modern ones. strange huh?'
*Jeckle just shrugs at Tiger and then resumes looking at some paintings further away from the others. she stops to stare at one. she glances at the others briefly and then resumes looking at the painting in front of her, then at its neighbour*

As soon as Dante tries to read one of the rings, he realizes that somehow, something is resisting. The former owner and the other information he would normally learn from touching the ring is hidden.

Dante looks around the room at all the different rings. He shrugs his shoulders and simply grabs the closest ring and closing his eyes, he attempts to read it.(isp 6)
Dante opens his eyes and looks at Tiger, "Bad news boss, can't read it. It feels like something is blocking my read, intentionally hiding the information from me."

Tiger frowns, she has heard a great deal about psionic powers and seen them in use many times. "An object shouldn't be able to resist, and only the most paranoid would place some kind of blocking on hundreds of items. Unless...."
She turns back to Jeckle. "When you said 'the ones that call out to us' - you meant we shouldn't pick the one we think is the right one, but instead pick the one that is right for us? So I would pick a tiger?" Tiger asks. She thinks for a moment while waiting for Jeckle's answer. Being true to themselves probably wasn't one of her father's minions strong suits. They would pick the ones they thought would get them to the goal...
Or maybe the problem was something different entirely. Maybe only one or two of the rings actually did anything and the rest were just a distraction. Would they have to try each one?

Khris fought off boredom as he sat on his rock, watching the hole and waiting for the others to return. He knew he was safe hidden by his powers, but it didn't make him any less unconfortable.

'saw a couple of big cats. one was a tiger .. another was a semi striped big toothed smilidon type .. so its up to you for what seems right to you .. but me? .. when i was stuck in the hospital .. one nurse thought she was helping me by reading me fairy tales. the only one that caught my attention were about unicorns and pegasi .. mainly cause one could teleport away somewhere out of danger .. like i really wanted to do ... or the pegasus .. mainly cause it could fly away from danger. they also seemed so .. gentle. go figure. always dreamed of a combination of hte two .. but never happened in stories .. but i only see one here and its really pretty .. '
*she shakes her head and then steps back to look at the next painting and then takes out a vial and a small knife and then carefully scraps at the edge of one, to get some of the paint bits into the rock so she can get an age of the area. 'always curious. want to know how things get made. never know when it could prove helpful later .. '

Tiger remains calm and thoughtful and turns to Jeckle. "Then it is your turn. Reach out and take the ring of the creature, your favorite."
Tiger holds her breath, waiting to see what will happen.
