McKenna smirked as she contemplated another but decided against it. " Oh, is that how it's supposed to work? Have to wait and see. Thanks for the chat anyways." She slid off her seat and walked home.

"Alright." Tawfeek says. Getting up again. "You've made your point. Also, as my XO, you're in charge of maintaining the guest rooms. After a couple trips, we'll re-evaluate the maid. As for the crew, we can always dump them if they don't work out."
Looking over the resumés, he says, "Well, we're going to need that doctor or medic or whatever. She's got trauma experience, we'll just have to keep her busy so she doesn't cause trouble with the crew. And that engineer, the KLS one. He'll be Deviss's second so he can build up his practical experience. As for the pilot..." He hands the pilot's resumés to Jessica. "Dare I get you to pick one randomly?"

Jessica nods. "Sure, I can do that." She takes a few minutes to study each of the resumes, taking notes and reading them carefully. Finally, she says "Let's take a chance on flyboy here." She hands Tawfeek Flip's resume. "He was honest about the incident with the ex-CO." She shrugs. "We should see if he's as good as he says he is."

"And hey, if he kills us all, at least I won't have to pay back the mortgage on the Galaxy..." Tawfeek says. "Alright... I'll make the calls."
(The next day!!!) Everyone has been contacted and offered the jobs and I presume accepted... And they've been given a quick tour of the ship.
And the jobs are: Captain: Tawfeek XO/Security/Client Affairs: Stephens First engineer: Deviss Second Engineer: Arcturis Pilot: Foreman Medical: Hatfield.
Just so we know...
Now that the credits are done...
And you each get one of the second-deck rooms (Tawfeek won't even consider giving the third deck-3 room, and the more someone asks, the less likely they are to have it).
And, before everyone gets settles, they're summoned to the galley/dining area.
"Ok" Tawfeek says, when everyone's settled. The longer they take to get settled, the less polite Tawfeek will sound. "We're going on a shake-down tour, to see how everything works. The rules are deceptively simple. First rule: I am in charge. Anything I say is done. It isn't done, you're fired, and dropped at the next port. Goes for anything that's not doing your job. I have no problem firing any of you." He explains looking around the table. "You're hear to work, as my staff in my home. This isn't some office or machine shop or hospital or whatever, where you can go home at the end of the day and unwind. For a lot of you, this will require some adjustment. I recommend you adjust quickly. We leave in 5 hours."
After a second, he says, "Deviss, Take Mensk and make sure he knows everything you know about the engines. Simpson make sure the area's sealed and ready to go. Our cargo arrives in an hour. Foreman, I want you up in the bridge preparing. Hatfield, review the med bay and the hydroponics, make sure there isn't anything we're missing we'll desparately need. We can unpack when we're in the air. Hop to it."
"Come on," Deviss says to Mensk. "Might as well show you the engines. You a port or starboard kind of guy?" He asks, wheeling Mensk aftward.
With that, Tawfeek leaves the lounge, making sure they all have some time to think about what they're roles are. He doesn't answer any questions. In fact, he'll ignore them, since everyone has something to do right now.

(Simpson? Jessica's last name is Stephens)
Jessica listens to Tawfeek's speech and nods when he gives her instructions. Being the one who was used to working with him, she isn't bothered with his gruff nature. She nods in greeting when she is introduced to everyone and then leaves to check to make sure everything was sealed and ready to go.

McKenna got up as they were dismissed and walked directly to the hydroponics bay first. It wasn't her area of expertise, but figured she'd notice if anything was missing. She then proceeded to med bay. Looking around, she sighed and began checking supplies. " Better than a shuttle, that's for sure."

(McKenna)
The hydroponics seemed to be neglected, and not too appealing a place. But, even as she looked around, all her second-year nutrition and homeopathy courses started to come back a little. There were some Aloe, and a couple of citrus trees as well as standard healthier spices, like garlic, onions, spicy peppers (which are also useful as a mild topical aneasthetic), etc... At the same time, there are some of those high-O2 plants, and a cannibis tree. If properly tended to a health perspective, it would certainly be a useful tool to add to her medical supply. Wonder what the oxygn impact for that kind of change would be.
Well... first, someone needs to actually clean it up and get the process restarted...
The med bay seemed to be mildly stocked, and would need a few of this and that, and some things replaced. Thankfully, it's clean, at least.
(Jessica)
The lock-down didn't take long, as the airlocks on both sides secured and the lounge was empty. Once the airlocks on both sides signaled closed, the cargo bay was next to make sure it was ready for the cargo.

Jessica heads down to the cargo bay to check it out to make sure it was ready for the cargo.

Not impressed by either the neglect or being stuck with it in the first place, McKenna focused on medical suite. It wasn't up to her standards, but she could make due. She went through the onboard dispensery after finding a pad and paper to take inventory, purposely checking expiries on every box. she jotted down a few other things she would need. Once she had that, she worked the list into a priority list of what they needed before pulling out and what could wait until a starport later on.
Once it was rewritten and double checked. she considered trying to send it to him through the ships computers, but she wanted to make sure he got it before they disembarked, so she keyed the ships' com, " Captain? Copy medical?"
(Assuming the ship has some sort of com system)

(Jessica) The Cargo bay's gravity was still on, and she could tell that some of the basic supplies had already been brought in and secured when Tawfeek purchased the ship. Given the bay's exposure to space, using the control room on the third deck would actually have been useful, if it wasn't stripped down.
(McKenna) There was silence on the other side of the comm for several minutes. "Yes, Hatfield?" Comes Tawfeek's voice.

"Depends on who's flying." he grinned. "I'm used to the mess of cleaning up after polittions. This ship should be a breeze. " he followed the lead engineer as listing what seemed a very long list of repairs nd parts to get up to flight standards.

(Arcturis) Deviss starts chuckling. "You're not looking at the same engines as me, are you?" He says. "Come here. Get up right in there. You see the patch welds?" He asks. There were a number them, clearly not recent. "The Ion Mark2s were revamped after about 2 years of service, getting rid of a lot of the crap from those specs. Less flash makes the hip better. This ship is flight worthy and a better quality than those standards of yours. And Tawfeek's no fool. He flew this here himself from Laika, and wouldn't do it if the engines were not cleared."
After a second he sighs. "But we will need some spare parts. The ones they kept last, but they don't all come cheap. At least they're common parts. Ion drives haven't changed much in a decade."
As he helps Arcturis back down he says. "Now, any questions."

Flip couldn't be happier to have been given a chance at being a pilot on this ship. He turns to Tawfeek and says, "I will not disappoint you. Thank you for the chance."
Flip stops off in his assigned room, and tosses his bag on his bed. He then wastes no time making his way to the cockpit. He looks over everything there then grabs a clipboard and a pen. He begins writing out a pre-flight checklist on one page and on the next he writes out any improvements he thinks would be good to make.

While Flip's working through the controls, Tawfeek is sitting at the nav table, obviously on the comm with someone. "... Yes, you only have 45 minutes to get that cargo - No, I don't care what your control tells you, it's empty here, there's no reason to delay the shipment." The comm from the Medical bay lights up on Flip's dash, but with Tawfeek on the line, it doesn't make more than a peep. It's Hatfield from the med-bay. "... So move it!" He says, flicking it off.
After a second, with a sigh, he turns on the med comm, in back-left console and takes a seat. "Yes, Hatfield?"

Jessica sighs to herself when she sees the state of the control room. She enters it, and looks around to see if it was possible to get the parts they need to get it up and running before they depart.
