" I don't know what captain Tawfeek thinks, I just left the interview." McKenna admitted. " All I know is I need a fresh start and away from this station for a while, so I can't think of a better way than on a long hauler."

Jessica shakes her head at Tawfeek, indicating that she had no questions to ask.

After the interview he went to the waiting area. As he took a seat he opened a computer and kept an eye out anyone he knew.

After Arturis leaves, Tawfeek calls in Foreman. "So, what position are you applying for?"

Flip nervously makes his way into the interview area. He drops his bags just inside the door, and walks towards the chair opposite the interviewers. He drops down into the seat. His flight suit is a bit ragged not having seen a wash in a while. He looks at Tawfeek and says, "I am applying to be your pilot. I assume that you are the captain. I can fly pretty much anything. I'm the best pilot you'll ever see."

"And my associate is the best Shakespearian actress you'll ever see." Tawfeek responds, ignoring, for the moment, Flip's demeanour. "But what I need is proof. Do you have a resumé? Contacts? References?"

Flip says, "yeah ok one sec."
He goes back to his bag and pulls out a crumpled up sheet of paper. He hands it over after straightening it out on against his chest. "I know this doesn't look like much, but if you call anyone of those guys they will tell you what I can do. I flew with them, and graduated with a few. Um.. The name at the bottom is my ex CO. You might want to skip him though. He doesn't like me much anymore."

Jessica can't help but laugh at the Shakespeare comments and once Tawfeek is done with the resume, she looks at it herself. Glancing up, she asks "Why doesn't he like you anymore?"

(In the lounge) Tawfeek nods at that question.
(In the hall) What's Articuris looking up between ames of Solitaire? No-one he knows walks by.
(At the bar) "Well." the Bartender says. "Captains aren't looking for escapees. Then tend to want to go home. They only want people who will work for them, and stick around long enough to become profitable. You have to ask yourself if you can do that, and not just if you can leave all this behind."

"We were never friends, but we weren't that bad until my last mission. I was running a cargo tug from our ship in orbit down to the planet for supplies. Everything went fine until it was time to head back to the ship. I uh.. welllll...I decided to test the stability on the tug. The ship did fine, but the cargo didn't fair so well. Not sure how it was my fault the loaders didn't tie down the crates. When they opened the hold to unload, the cargo bay looked like a huge salad."
Flip looks nervously down at his hands in his lap then looks back up waiting for a response from either person.

Finishing her drink, McKenna shrugged," I'm not looking to escape. I just want to start over. As long as I'm given a fair shake, the captain won't have to worry about me going anywheres."

(At the bar) The bartender shrugs. "More like, if you do your job, you won't have to worry about going anywheres." he says, chuckling. "Don't forget you're on the captain's turf, earning a paycheck from the captain. You're at his beck and call, not the other way around."
(In the lounge, and in the hall nearby) "Thank-you, Mr. Foreman. We'll let you know." Says Tawfeek, ushering him out. Then, after the last interviews are done, the captain makes sure the lounge is empty and locks the door.
Slumping his head on the desk, he says, "I remember, when I talked to the banker this was a good idea, Jess."

Jessica smiles sympathetically. "It'll be ok." She tells him. "At least we seemed to have people who actually have talent in their field interview, even if they are a bit.." she pauses "colourful." Jessica grins.

Tawfeek turns on his head. "Yeah, and the least colourful was the maid and you didn't want to hire her. You realise if this makes me die young, you're out of the will, right?"

Jessica smirks "I know. You've told me that... well, I've lost count of how many times you've told me that." She raises an eyebrow "Why exactly do we need a maid anyway?"
