Mr. Powell wheels forward. "Work is not difficult when you have the resources I command, good sir. And the free time." He chuckles softly. "The actor is a necessary evil - a ruse designed to maintain the illusion of invincibility required in business. After all, no one would answer to an executive in a wheelchair."
With a quick thrust of his powerful arms, Powell spins away, putting his back to the group. "I have taken this time and effort - quite considerable on both fronts, I must confess - to gather you all to make a pact between you. I have followed the exploits of many such as you over the past several months, and I believe that such...exceptional individuals should at least have an understanding of one another and be able to peacefully co-operate to attain shared goals successfully."

"One tip Mr. Powell, if you plan on using him again, he needs to be more relaxed with your gestures and history. He was a bit stiff to me. And no offense, may I?" asks Colt, stepping forward if allowed to push the chair, meant more as respect than an insult.

Lex was a bit taken aback. "Mr. Powell, I'm not quite sure what you are getting at. We have an unspoken agreement already, or at least Rider, myself and the young lady do. We know who the bad guys are and we focus on them, not each other. Right?" He looked to Vivian and Rider to confirm. "I'm not sure gathering us together does more than make us a target for goons like Marconi and his men."

"Thank you, that won't be necessary, though I appreciate the note. He was chosen for his resemblance than his acting skill." The industrialist wheels away from Colt. "Marconi is only the tip of the iceberg. There are other threats out there, and I believe it is only such remarkable individuals as yourself that will be able to deal with them. I would ask for your allegiance - to each other."

Vivian narrows her eyes and doesn't trust the man in the wheelchair. "I barely know these people, why should I give someone my allegiance when I don't know or trust them?"

"Easy kiddo." Lex cautioned, at the same time removing his cowl to reveal his face to everyone present as he laid down his weapon. " Mr.Powell has all the cards anyways. We could have been splattered all over tonights paper instead of meeting in private. I think that proves the man deserves a chance to hear out what he has in mind."

Mr. Colt nods. "He's right. We could've walked into a dynamite laden building, push of a plunger..." lets the thought trail off, taking off his mask in one hand, fedora in the other. "Mr. Colt to folks like Marconi, Rex Cranston to everyone else."

"Aw Heck, guess I'm in too. Only sporting after all." as the Rider removes his mask, Viv recognizes him as the guy who took an interest in her at the party. "Mathew Cannon, at your service."
Powell turned around. "I appreciate your trust in me and each other. There was another one or two I was expecting, but this is a good start. What I want? What I want..." There is a wistful smile on his face as he looks out the broken window to the starry sky. "...what I want is nothing less than a different world." Powell steeples his fingers and takes a breath. "There are many dangers, both in this city and elsewhere around the world that require the attention of individuals such as yourself. Central city is, frankly, where the highest concentration lies, but it is not the sole source. For now, I wish you all to go about your normal activities, but there will be occasions where I may ask a favor of our association. Is this acceptable to you all?"

The Scarecrow listens, these guys do seem to think a lot like him, the building being rigged with Dynamite or TNT was of course one of the reasons why he decided not to attend in person.
It is an interesting offer, but even if he was present in person he'd be wary of throwing in alligience with someone in possession of so much one sided information, this guy knowing so much about the city's vigilantes while so little is known about him and what his ultimate goals might be does not sit well with The Scarecrow for the moment. Interestingly enough he has seen a portion of the city vigilante population unmasked without revealing himself.... which could be potentially useful at some point.
The Scarecrow continues to lurk, and makes a note that his new priority should be to look into this "Mr. Powell" fellow now that he knows what he really looks like. The amount of resources this guy controls shouldn't be that easy to conceal. Determining his exact motivations before even considering an alligience is high on The Scarecrow's list. Should they prove to be less than sympathetic, such as a crime lord looking for a tool to wipe out the competition, The Scarecrow now has the tools to warn the other vigilantes now that he knows who they are.
As a side note he finds it kind of interesting to see Viv as a vigilante, given that they knew each other and there were efforts made to marry them. He guesses they had more in common than he thought. Maybe he shouldn't have pushed her away with his usual grufness... but no, he still prefers to work alone whenever possible, after all to his knowlege noone else can turn invisible the way he can, and illusions work best when totally unexpected. Informing a partner of what he was doing so as not to influance them with some of his spells by accident while remaining unseen could be awkward to say the least.

Oh yes, when the meeting is over the Scarecrow plans to follow "Mr. Powell" in his astral form to see where he goes and gather more information on him and his plans. He can't interact with anything, but can watch and listen, perhaps read over his shoulder.
There are of course limits he can only keep pumping PPE into Astral Projection for so long, and of course he doesn't want to be stuck "taking a nap" in his locked truck too long either, but he figures finding out more about Mr. Powell is important, at least where he lives, and listening to what he might say about the meeting to his associates immediatly afterwards.

(OOC: Vivian is in full costume so I don't think Caleb would know that it was her. GM's call)
Vivian is far from being convinced but she trusts Lex's judgement and waits to see how he reacts to Powell's request. She scowls at learning who DR really is. 'I knew I didn't like him!' she thinks to herself.

Lex nodded," Provided that favor isn't using us for you personal gain, Mr.Powell. But besides being able to rely on each other, what gains do we get for helping you in this?" He intentionally didn't acknowledge Vivian, hoping she would make her own decision

"Lex raises a valid point. As much as I like the challenge of a mystery, I dislike charging down a coal mine without a lantern."

Powell looks to the group. "I understand your caution. I give you my word - the only favor I will ever ask of you will not be seen as illegal in any way. In return, I will provide you with information, resources, and even perhaps long range travel. " He turns back to look at the night sky. "The day when I ask for that favor will come, and then, hopefully, we will be ready. Until then, carry on as you see fit."

Lex tried to hide a gulp as he glanced at Vivian when he got his reply. His life had been illegal since he had gotten home from the war, from his gunsmithing for the mob, to his taste for the Canadian whiskey he snuck in to hide in the basement for the occasional sip. " I hope you are referring to from here on. Otherwise, well, if you figured out who I am, then you know what I've done in the past. If that is going to come to light, then maybe I should take my leave now."
