The problem seemingly averted The Scarecrow returns to the bathroom, becomes visible and leaves as Caleb who looks around in apparently confusion as to what he might have missed muttering something uncouth about commotion and not being able to take a dump in peace.

Rex, you get the actor out through the kitchen into an adjoining hallway where you see a most uncouth fellow (Caleb) walking out of the men's room. The actor seems to slip for a moment.
(Caleb, you find a card slide into your back pocket)
Lex and Vivian find their way back through the dark alley - Dark Rider has managed to make himself scarce in the meantime.
The police arrive.

Seeing Caleb, Rex sighs. "A wonderful icing on such an eventful evening. You missed all the fun." [not sure if he met Caleb or not, but either way, taking a humorous shot at the person exiting the bathroom]

Caleb responds with a snort
"Must have been quite a commotion looking at the state of the room, and the police being on their way.... looks like this might have been the most eventful gathering in the city's history. I hope plenty of feathers got ruffled"
Caleb makes note of the card, but doesn't reach for it at the moment, figuring that whomever just slipped it to him intended more discrestion than pulling it out in the middle of the room would entail.

Lex considered removing his cowl, then reconsidered. He looked at Vivian while trying to catch his breath. " How am I supposed to hide this stuff with the cops all over the place? Viv, why don't you give me your bow and slip back in. You can tell Natalie when you see her I got caught in the crowd and forced outside. I'll think of something to tell her later if I can't get back to the truck soon."

Vivian nods at Lex and hands him her bow, knowing he'll take care of it. "Be careful." She then tries to slip back inside unnoticed and surveys the situation trying to figure ou what was going on.

Lex, you need to roll prowl to get away without the cops noticing.
Rex recognizes Caleb L'angelle as a farming magnate heir. Fairly well off, but a reputation as something of a weird curmudgeon from his time in the War.
Caleb, you run into Lester Oakley as you return to the party. He's clearly drunk and becoming quite nuisance to a few of the other attendees.
Rex returns to the party with the actor. "You have to excuse me sir, but I have some more errands to run. My employer wishes to let you know that everything you want to ask me is likely in the card I've provided you."
Vivian returns to find her mother beaming. "Vivian! Vivian Dear! Where were you? Oh, never mind that now! Two charming men have asked me about you this evening! One even left a card for you!"

Caleb will approach Lester, puts a hand on his shoulder and says "looks like the party is ruined, we might want to get out of here. I'll give you a ride home". Giving Lester a hit (and an out) without pointing out he's being a drunken nuisance. Besides it gives Caleb a reason to leave, since the police are on their way, and he really didn't want to be hanging out here anyway.  |

Vivian starts to tell her mother a lie about what she had been doing when her mother tells her about how 2 men asked for her. Faking a smile, Vivian nods and says, "That's nice, Mother."

Lex makes it back to the bakery to stash his gear when he hears his sister come in the back. "What happened and why are you not at the party? Have you been drinking in the cellar again?"
Vivian's mother hands her the letter. "Open it, my dear!"
Lester glares at Caleb. "Alright alright kid. You know any place where a fella can get a good drink though?"
Rex, the actor takes off and leaves you be. The rest of the guests begin to disperse (roll perception).

"Things went a little crazy over there, Natalia." Lex replied, trying to come up with a good excuse. " Guns and mobsters everywhere. The party was blown, so I left the entrees and got out of there. No, I wasn't drinking, you can smell my breasth if you don't beleive me, but I could use one now. To be honest, I just got back."

Caleb responds "Actually I was thinking you might want to give it a rest for a bit. I know this was a stressful situation, but you'll thank me in a few hours when your handover isn't a hundred times worse than it's already going to be. I figure I can drop you back at your place, and on the way you can tell me a little more about this air field."
