*at Dexy's concerned comment and tone of voice, Maria opens the eyes and gets her feet under her enough to stand .. the gold eyes unfocused as she remains half lost in the memories of her mind .. the broken whispers forgotten now.
*then as Felicity comes out and says 'Alice is fine .. but Will is sorta strange about her and said something about family ... ' is enough for Maria to go grey as she hears the voice. memories of another conversation and then darkness and pain block that memory again and she shudders as if waking up
'sorry Dexy .. i .. my head feels on fire .. its like .. something is gonna break open like a dam. wha .... *then looks about an notices the tentacles about the two of them .. 'oh god .. i hope i didn't kill anyone? .. did i hit Alice? .. sorry ..' *then tries to tug herself free of the hold, then goes still again as the skin returns to the inky black

Dexy released her hold on Maria and set her down. " No, you didn't hurt anyone. But you might if you can't control that electrical field of yours. Lucky for you I hung around and absorbed the discharge." The tentacles disappeared into her wrists and she stretched her arms. " But I better go before that old man comes out. Don't want to get into with him after what happened. See you around, Sparky." She started to walk towards the parking garage.

William takes a deep breath, and clears his mind. "Alice, you were shot. I saw the wound myself. However, you have abnormally high healing abilities. This has allowed the wound to close, at least externally. But trust me, you need to rest, the internal healing needs to finish, and you've lost a lot of blood. Also, if there are bullet fragments, you will be uncomfortable for a couple of days as your body expels them." William adjusts his side, the memory of the first time it happened coming back to him.
He takes another breath, looks at Alice, and decides not to suggest what he was going to say. Instead, he starts again. "Look. You'll be fine. Just relax, and let yourself sleep. I've found that helps me. I'll be just outside." With a pat on her hand, he heads out into the main room.
"She will survive." William says. "It turns out, she's added a new trick to her family's bag. She has fast healing." He looks around the room. "Now, where are Maria and Dexandra?"

Alice lays on the table in shock. 'I have healing abilities?' she thinks to herself 'since when??? She sits there, trembling as the implications of what William told her hits her. 'Have I ever been human?' she wonders. Looking around the room, she sees a sign for a rest room, and she gets up and goes into the bathroom and throws up quietly. A small part of her wonders why she has the same power as William and wonders just how well he knew her grandmother. After all, there had been that period during the war of 6 months where her grandfather had been MIA and presumed deceased. Shaking her head, she makes a note to talk to william privately when she has a chance.
After a few minutes, Alice goes out to where the others are and says in a shaky voice "I still have to meet Jane and Dmitri so we should go soon." Looking down at herself, she says "but I need a new t-shirt first" Her hand rests lightly on her stomach and she leans against the wall, wondering if she's ever been as physically tired as she feels right now.

'Dexy? .. don't go .. you feel more like family to me then they ever will. i thought .. i thought i was the only one it happened to. *then stiffens as Dexy's words hit home and she starts to go grey 'yeah .. learn to control them .. that should only take me another 6 months on my own .. don't worry, i'll be fine' *then steps to the side and out of view as Will makes his exit from the office.
*leaning against the wall, listens to Will as he talks, then glances at Dexy's back as she moves away and then towards the others .. and for the first time in her whole life on the streets is torn as to which one to move towards. then still not knowing, slides down the wall to sit on her heels, unaware that Dexy looked back with a funny look to the face.
*then to herself more than to anyone else about her ' just wonderful .. i can't win at anything .. i kill jackie .. and almost kill another friend, wonderful ' .. *then slowly stands up and giving a final look towards the group she arrived with and started to trust, moves away from the wall and crosses to the shadows. intent on vanishing once again, to protect everyone from her until she gets this new power under control.

Dexy stopped flat footed at her full name, only to spin back at the guilt trip Maria was laying on her. With an annoyed scowl, she pointed a finger at Will. " Don't ever call me that, and you," her finger shifted to Maria, " lay off with the guilt trip. Geez, I just met you and you're busting my balls." Her scowl slowly curled up into a smirk.
Felicia leaned down to Ashley. " What was it Tyler said about bringing home strays?" Ashley shook her head with a smirk, and nudged Fel with her elbow. " Oh shut up."

*looks at Dexy as she gets angry and pauses at the smirk 'wasn't talking about killing you .. i .. oh forget it .. it dont matter now '
*shakes the head and remains in the deeper shadows and now turns her attention to William, the gold eyes unseen as is her own facial expression. ...o0( sometimes its nice to be like a shadow .. they can't see what my face says in the shadows .. but if he yells at me .. i'm gone.. yeah .. some time out might be better right now .. from him .. from the others .. at least until i get this figured out ... )

"Maria is very consistent in her melodrama, I'm afraid, Dexandra." William replies. "We must, however meet Alice's friends. Though, I'm afraid we won't have much secrecy in this. Instead suprise. Thoughts?" He looks around at them.

*to William 'none that would be of help. my knowledge is the streeets and whats under them. *the face still not showing any emotion, but the sneer in the voice is evident.
*then to Alice 'give me about 30 seconds and i'll have a shirt for you' *then starts to turn away her fingers working at the jacket snaps as she moves out of sight, and returns shortly with the jacket done up tight and a grey t-shirt in hand 'here .. you wont catch anything'
*to Dexy 'dont worry .. he's a creepoid that loves to talk down to those that are inferior to him, cause we aint as classy or smart as him. some of the others aren't as dense as him' *then stuffing the hands into her pockets looks the others over and looks at the others ' tell Ty thanks for the offer .. but i'll have to decline .. this is something i gotta do myself ' *then as she starts to move away calls back 'hey old man .. does *insert phrase* mean anything to you?'

William smiles bemusedly at Maria. "I've been called worse by more dedicated and dangerous people, Maria." And he shrugs. "But we have work to do as a team." He turns to the others. "We should go." And he heads out the back door.

*since she was already outside .. she gains the momentum of flight before the others move .. moving down the alley towards the Suburban without realizing it .. thinking now and hopes that she can hit the goodwill bin once the night settles to get herself a clean shirt cause she's given her shirt away ..

"Ashley, drop Alice off a block away from the meeting place. Felicia and I will tail, and then I can watch from above during the meet." William says, finally deciding that Ashley doesn't have the means to make decisions. He seems uninterested in Maria's actions.

*moves behind the suberban .. and out of sight .. and unknown to the others in the group .. alters the plate once again .. figuring her final gift will give them a better chance to do things without having to look behind their backs all the time .. sitting on the back of her heel.s views her work and smooths the new tape into place
'luck and clear blading' .. *her only remark for giving them good luck, then stands up and looks about, trying to avoid being glimpsed again by any of them ..

Alice takes the t-shirt from Sparks with a weak smile and says "Thank you" She heads back into the clinic's bathroom to change her shirt. Taking off her ruined one, she stares at herself in the mirror quietly for a minute. As she's about to put on the grey t-shirt, she feels something moving around, and watches in horror as a bullet fragment worms its way out of her stomach and falls onto the floor and the wound on her stomach closes a few seconds later. She stands there trembling and bends over to pick it up and examines it briefly before putting it into her pocket. She puts on the grey t-shirt and takes the green one with her so she can dispose of it later and goes back outside. Seeing Will, she says quietly "I still think we need to talk later." She takes the bullet fragment out of her pocket and shows it to him. "This came out of my stomach." She looks up at him with a look of fear "What in the bloody hell am I?" she asks quietly.
