Ashley stopped, taken aback by Will. " Just like that? Look, I'm over him, okay? There's nothing between me and Jason, he's moved on and I've accepted it. Besides, I like Alice. Setting your new pet on me and using her for an enforcer to keep us in line ain't gonna work on me. If that's why you got me to come out here, forget it, I'll be inside." She turned to walk back to the lodge. she took a few steps and started to walk backwards. " Maybe you should spend more time trying to understand us and less pushing us around and we might figure out we aren't just the dumb kids you think we are." she turned back again and broke into a run for the house, wiping at her eyes as she went.
The computer made a funny pop sound and the computer screen flickered as Eric and Michael watched it again. Mikey lept to his feet and started fiddling with his design. Quick! Save this before it crashes! he asked Eric.
The shouts in the house continued to break into Maria's slumber. Dexy was obviously upset about something judging by the strings of profanity she was singing off at Tyler.
Alice could see another side of Jason in his eyes. " It's nothing personal, but nobody needs to know what's locked up in my head, except maybe a therapist. " It faded when he smiled and looked at her . " Of course I'll let you rant, your a woman so it's your perogative." He broke into laughter and turned back, only to utter an "Oh Crap!" and jam on the brakes before hitting a large alligator stretched out on the road.
He let out a sigh of releif, and once the large reptile waddled off the road, he started on again. " I've done some awful things when I was working for the government, and I'm afraid how you'd react if I told you. So try to forget about it. If I could, I would." He smirked . The cityscape was starting to loom on the horizon.
He changed the subject again." I got an idea. There's a theatre at one of the malls, you can do a little shopping and we'll catch the late show, okay?"

William watches Ashley making a run for the house for a second, then swoops up, past (silently) and landing in front of her. "Ashley. It is precisely that I understand people that push them around." He stops, and rethinks what he needs to say.
He says in a more fatherly tone. "You don't always have to tell me what you feel about people. BUt you have to always be honest with yourself. And you can't let those feelings get in the way."
He steps back to let her pass. "You'll get over Jason eventually." He pauses, as if to say something more, but doesn't block her, or keep her there.

Alice stares at Jason quietly, as if realizing just how little she knows about him. She opens her mouth as if to say something, but is cut off when Jason slams on the brakes to avoid hitting the alligator. She stares open mouthed at the alligator. "Wow, that's brilliant!" she says in awe.
Letting Jason change the subject this time, she nods with a quiet smile "That sounds fine to me." Winking at him, she adds "Maybe if you're lucky I'll try on a slinky dress."

*maria struggles to become aware once again. as she opens the eyes, there seems to be a reddish haze over the eyes. ' .. floor? .. thought ... ' *then blinks a couple of tiems trying to clear the vision enough to see, and fails.
*in standing up, the blood moves to the rest of the body and staggers to the door. body reacting to a threat, the adrenalin builds and she stumbles towards the sounds of Dexy and Ty.
*seeing movement, and not very clearly .. moves towards both of them, the electrical field crackling like it did in the beginning and then her raspy voice says 'stop .. or ... i'll .. fry your ....' *the rest of the words are lost as the knees give way. her skin tone looks like a normal person .. the person she could have been, for all of 3 seconds then she is leaning on both hands as well.
'.. or .. oh *bleep* it hurts .. ' *then she cradles the head like its gonna explode* ' i .. i dont wanna know anymore. not the chamber' *then quiet whispers* 'mommy?.. make them stop. i'll be good. come take me home, mommy' .. *when she looks up at Dexy and Ty, the colored part of both eyes is blood red, then the field lashes out to the full extent just falling short of both of them .. 'don't hrr ...' *then collapses to all fours again.

" Whatever." Was Ashley's only whimpered reply as she continued inside, nearly running Felicia over in the doorway. Fel considered following Ashley, but turned to eye Will instead. " What did you do to her?"
" That was a big one." Jason muttered, watching the gator in the mirror. " He glanced over at Alice. " You can get whatever you want, I'm buying. No arguements, I owe you so let me do at least this."
Ty and Dexy both calmed down as Maria showed up. Dexy quickly pulled on her shirt to cover the slight markings on her back where she had had similar lumps as Maria did. Ty put down the scalpel in one hand and a small vial of nasty looking stuff. and stepped to Maria's side. " what are you doing up? You need to build up your strength."
Dexy nodded, picking her from the floor with her tentacles easily." Ty, are we done?"
Tyler nodded. " I think I got them all. Take care of her."
Dexy nodded and pulled her into her body to hold in her arms and carried her back to her room. As they went, Dexy grumbled under her breath. " you know this is getting to be a habit?" she set Maria down gently on the bed and sat in the chair next to her, leaning forward to rest her head on her hand, elbows on her knees. " You've got to rest so you can fight through this." She said, worriedly.

Alice looks disapointed at the lack of response from Jason, but tells herself to not take it too personally, since he'd been really distracted since they'd left the cottage. She smiles quietly, and replies "You don't really owe me anything. I helped you, you helped me. We're even." Alice falls quiet and stares out the window as they approach the city, trying not to pout too visably.

Alice smirks back at Jason as she replies "Who says I'm just teasing?" She winks as she adds "Besides, if I was teasing, I'd be trying on bikinis instead of dresses"

Jason took his hands off the wheel and shrugged. " Maybe we should go to the beach then".
He glanced over at her again, his smirk growing to a full blown smile as he looked her up and down to make it look like he was picturing it. He turned back to the road. " Yeah, the beach is a darned good idea."

Alice laughs and blushes a little bit. "Maybe we could go for a swim after the movie," she replies with a grin "besides, that late at night, who says we even need bathing suits?"

William looks over at Felicia, rather apologetically. "She needs your attention more than I do." He says, indicating Ashley. He takes a deep breath. "I called her on her feelings towards Jason." And he finds a comfortable place to stretch out and relax.

' *then the eyes drift close, on the world she knows and wishes for one that was not so crazy and made sense. then whispers quietly as exhaustion hits her body once again ' .. mom sold ... me .. .. why? ' *then as the body starts its attempt to heal and sleep, awaits the answer

Felicia scowls at William. "No, you should go talk to Ashley" she tells him in a firm voice. She then spins on her heels and stomps away to check on Tyler.
(Maria)
Dexy takes Maria by the shoulders, looks her in the eye and says in a gentle but firm voice "Maria, your mother did not sell you. You were stolen from her." Dexy is quiet for a second before saying "Get some rest. When you're feeling better, we'll talk more." As Maria starts to fall asleep, she hears Dexy say "I'll be here when you wake up."
(Alice)
Jason raises an eyebrow and glances at Alice with a grin. "Be careful of what you offer," he teases "I just might take you up on it." Alice simply grins and winks at Jason, as the two enter the city.

William stops on his way to living room, sighing. Barely even pregnant, and she's already acting like she's everyone's mother. He thinks to himself, looking for Ashley.
Finding her room, her knocks on the door. "Ashley?" He says in a soft voice.

' ... no'sol .. ? ... ' *the last coherent thought lingers as the darkness welcomes her once again. the occasional flare up of the elctrical bubble about her causes minor discomfort to any nearby. but somehow knowing that someone trusted is nearby to protect her .. rests easier .. the rippling of the flesh as it shuffles aout is strange to watch, but its the color change that happens less and the tone remains inky black that shows she's regaining control of whatever is happening to her body. if slowly, but its still a winning battle
