Will can hear Ashley crying a little in her room. She opens the door and glares at him "What do you want?" she snaps.

As she sleeps, Dexy stays in the room with her, as promised, keeping a watchful eye on her just in case the toxins start to overwhelmn her again.

William takes a deep breath, then, with a rather sardonic smile, says "Felicia told me to come talk to you." He says. "So, here I am." Without stepping into the room, but still being a presence he says "I know what it was like to be your age. I've been in it myself, and watched it happen to my own family. It isn't easy. But, at the same time, the world moves around you whether you're involved in it or not. Part of my job... part of what I've even had to do myself, is grow-up quickly." He stops and scoffs. "Somehow I knew what to say when it was my own children." He looks around the room. "Jason was only a blip, and you'll heal over, eventually. If... if you want to talk about everything that appened between you two, you can come find me. I'm a regimental pain in the neck, but I'm also the only one here who knows what it's like to see a heartbroken young women." More to himself, though that Ashley can hear. "Every two months of her young life." He looks back at Ashley, waiting for a response.

After going quiet on the rest of the trip through into the city, Jason brought the car to a halt in the mall parking lot. He looked over at her at Alice with an apoligetic look as he shut off the ignition. " Here we are." He turned to face her. " Look, I'm sorry I got all depressing on you like this, but I"ve got stuff locked up in here (he tapped his temple) that no one needs to find out about. Talking about them stirred them up again and it takes time for me to block them out again."
He smiled, and motioned towards the mall. " At least you get a good parking spot by coming with me. Otherwise you'd have to walk from way back there. " He motioned towards the empty spots on the otherside of the lot. " So, where to first, shopping or a movie?" He started fidgeting around, trying to get his chair out of the back.
Ashley snuffed as she stopped sobbing to look at Will. " You're a pain in something other than the neck. Look, I know you meant well, but you just pushed my buttons okay? You've been doing it since Ty dragged you home. And throwing Jason back in my face didn't help any." Her mood was starting to shift from being upset to anger. " So I admit, Jas will always hold a special place for me, but it's over and I don't need you reminding me every chance you get. But that's not what upset me."
she took a deep breath and wiped at her eyes with a deep breath. " When I got infected, I went to my family disowned me as a freak. They even tried to turn me in. Tyler found me and took me in and made me feel like I had a family again. That's what we are here. We might be dysfunctional, but what can you expect from a bunch of metas under one roof. Then you show up and try to take over." Her anger started to come to a head and she flexed her hands, her energy claws appearing for the first time without her transforming.
She pointed one clawed finger at him, clenching her teeth. " You're not gonna cut any off us loose. You don't like that some of us have some emotional baggage and aren't trained killers like you, go hire yourself some mercenaries and leave us alone." Looking at the claws in amazement, she started to close the door.
Down the hall, Will could hear an amused snicker from Trevor before he ducked into the bathroom.
Dexy leaned back and sighed, resting her eyes to doze off as well, trying not to chuckle at the ruckus up the hall. She folded her hands behind her head and closed her eyes, listening to both Maria stir and Ashley's tantrum.

William looks rather unmoved by Ashley's speech. His response, though, is calm and even."I don't have trained mercenaries. I don't even have a home to go to. Not until this is settled. And, like it or not, this house of misfits are the ones that will save the city." He steps back from the door. "I don't really plan on cutting anyone loose. Besides, it seems your claws have a button." He stepped off and headed out to look for Tyler.

Ashley didn't protest when Will departed, and her claws faded as quickly as they appeared.
Tyler didn't seem to be anywheres around, but a chance glance out the window gave away his hiding spot sitting in one of the patio chairs at the end of the dock on the edge of the 'glades. If not for the angle looking through the trees, no one would even know that it was there.

Alice smiles quietly at Jason. "It's ok," she says. "We all have things we don't like to think or talk about." Alice gets out of the car, so Jason can't see the look on her face. The silence in the car had forced her to think of the night her powers had first emmerged and she was trying not to think about it.
Alice thinks about it for a minute before answering "Might as well get the shopping over with first and then go and see a movie. Is there anything in particular you want to see?" Alice asks as she waits for Jason to get his chair out of the car.

Ty's eyes gave away that the reality of what had happened was setting in. " You've got that affect on people, Will. YOu have to remember most of them are still kids. Dexy is gonna be a handful I think. She through me around for the fun of it because taking those packets out of her back hurt. ." He looked out over the swamp and sighed. " We're gonna have to go back into the city tomorrow. Maybe try to find a new place to operate out of. I love this old camp, but we need to find a place closer to the action. Any ideas where we start when we go back?"

"Well, Maria seems to know tunnels. And there have to be a few gang hideouts to start with." William offers. "We check with Eric, Maria and Dexy first. They've been on the street longer, so they'ld have the most recent information. Otherwise, I know of at least one Brethren hide-out."
William leans back. "I would personally start with abandonned buildings, and go from there. The old tricks still work in our modern age."

Fighting with the chair until it came clear, Jason sputtered until he had it set up and propped himself into it. He locked the door and the alarm chirped behind them. " I was hoping you had an idea. William grinned sentimentally. "I also seemed to recall that you never went hungry in those places." He answered. "We start with hideouts and empty warehouses. Classic stuff. We can always kill rodents and clean up. Plus, I have some old war buddies in town and, if we're lucky, intact slush funds."

Alice shrugs as they head towards the mall. "Anything is fine." she replies "though I think I'd prefer watching something light, considering what's been going on in the last couple of days."
Once they enter the mall, she spots a pharmacy and a little shop that she routinely shops at as they have cute clothes at decent prices. Turning to Jason, she says "I just want to get some toiletires first since I lost them all in the fire. I'll be right back." She then heads into the pharmacy and gets face wash, moisturizer, a face cloth and a new toothbrush and pays for them with the cash she has on hand. She then re-joins Jason outside the pharmacy and together they head to the boutique.

" Cash flows not an issue. Terri made sure we were set up pretty good, and Trevor's got a knack for finances. So we're good." Ty grinned. " When do you want to break the news?"
Jason figdeted until Alice came back. The mall was fairly empty so he had no problems with traffic. When she came out, he motioned towards an ATM. " I gotta get some cash, Eric and Mikey blew most of what I had on hand." He rolled over to the machine and withdrew the maximum it would allow him. He tucked the wad of cash in his wallet and tucked it back in his pocket. " So what did those two find out anyways?" He asked as they moved along.

"After Jason and Alice get back." William answers, relaxing. "That'll give Ashley time to recover, and maybe for Maria to wake up. Maybe, also, we'll hear about Eric's disk."

Alice looks puzzled as she describes the video that she, Michael and Eric watched before she and Jason had left for the city. "I really don't understand what it proves or why they seem to want it back so badly." Alice shrugs as she asks Jason "Any ideas?"
They enter the boutique and Alice spots a few things that are cute. A huge grin shows up on her face for the first time in a while and she squeals in excitement as she picks a few things off the rack to try on. She grabs a couple of cute spring dresses and a couple of sparkly shirts and a pair of jean shorts. Just for fun, she spots and grabs a black bikini and hides it so Jason can't see it, figuring she'd surprise him. She goes up to Jason with the same grin on her face. "Ok, I'm going to start trying stuff on. The change rooms are just over there." She then heads over to the change room.
