*acts like she hasn't heard anything for a bit and then the head turns to look. gold eyes watching and saying nothing , but Maria's mind has gone quiet.
'Mikey i can understand doing that .. but you too? .. great' *then a deep sigh as she face the front and then a flash of 'oh my god .. the old guy .. oh shut up already .. ' and then the look at Alice agian. 'i asked Mikey to not poke about in the head, he hasn't since i asked .. now i'm asking you to not do it. you wont like what you see .. but i guess you already saw Jackie huh? .. trust me .. you DONT wanna see or hear more in there .. but i'm getting to the point my brain feels like its gonna burst open.
'i'll give it one last chance .. then i wont come back .. oh .. here .. teach Mikey how to use this stuff' *hands Alice the plastic bag of grease paint [stage makeup] and other make ups .. it makes me look like a corpse when i try. he might have better luck'

Alice looks a bit chastened. "I'm sorry," she says quietly "I just wanted to be able to help make you feel better. I won't do it again."
Alice is quiet for a second before saying "I didn't know how to do that before. It's new. I don't know where it came from. It's kinda scary actually."
*takes the bag of makeup* "What is this for?" she asks as she pokes through it.

*snorts with a bit of strange understanding* 'yeah .. tell me about it .. almost fragged the inside of the Suburban on the way back with Ty .. when my field thingee started .. he said he'ld help .. but he's got other concerns now .. she needs him .. and i kept her alive to pay off my debt to him .. not that others would understand that .. '
*sighs saddly* 'hey .. it was on sale .. and i thought .. maybe i could sorta blend in .. but .. i think it will be easier for Mikey to blend in than for me .. can't cover up the darkness of my skin without it coming out looking like a sicko or a corpse .. '
'if it works for him? .. hey he can be of better help than i could in some places .. i stand out too much .. so .. well it was a thought .. guess i don't know why i got the stuff .. just thought that maybe .. ... ' *then shrugs in a helpless manner and drops the chin to the knees again and stares at a rock .. 'hey .. you got a watch? .. i wanna time how long i can make a rock hold a charge'

Alice is quiet for a second before saying "I don't think Tyler would offer to help you and then back out of it." SHe pauses "Why does Felicia need him? Is she sick?"
At the question, Alice answers "Yeah i have a watch that has a timer on it. We can time it if you want."

' Fel's gonna be a mom .. Ty's the dad .. oh .. surprise?' *then looks at Alice and then picks a rock up and carries it over to the rock about 15 feet away 'alright .. count it off for me .. and then i'll hold it as long as possible .. last time i tried it was a minute .. '
*gets ready to move away from the rock and the pebble she set down and when Alice says 'go' .. *moves away and then motions for Alice to move to a new spot .. using the rock and its angles to protect them from the debris that will blow about

Alice looks surprised but then she grins and says "Wow! That's very cool! I'll have to congratulate them" At Spark's motion to stand back, she does and sets up the timer for her watch. "Ok" Alice says "Go"

Unable to squirm from Will's grasp, Trevor instead goes on the offensive as they plummeted downward. He reached down between his legs with his free hand and grabbed one of Will's ankles, throwing the pair of them into an offbalance spin as the ground rushed up. " Let me go old man, or we both crash."
The fighting style of counterattacking seems distinctly similar to the one Tyler used when he had worked with Will in the past.

William laughs out loud, and tauntingly at Trevor. "I created that move, you know. And the countermove." And starts influencing the spin to go faster and faster, creating a dizzying candy-cane of orange and sliver flames racing towards the ground. "But, you know, I'll heal if I crash... will you?" He taunts further.
At the last minute, William lets Trevor go to send him hurling and spinning across the quarry. William spins out, landing more gracefully, and, as he shakes off his own dizziness watches to see what Trevor does.

'don't think they wanna share that news just yet with everyone .. ' *comments as she joins Alice a slight frown on the face, showing she's a bit distracted* 'its something they'll tell when they're both happy with it .. '
*as the watch ticks past the minute mark Sparks seems to be the same as before, but getting less talkative, as she concentrates on the charge. 'hope they don't mind the rocks getting a new finish. but you know .. you are lucky. bet your mom didn't sell you off. i think mine did' *then shakes the head* 'don't worry to much about it ... its all lost upstairs. Dexy was gonna try to help me dig it out, but thats more scarey to think about, cause if i blocked it .. there's gotta be a reason .. right?'

Alice continues to monitor her watch as she says "I don't think anyone will be upset over a couple of rocks." Not really knowing what to say about the mother selling sparks comment, she falls silent continuing to half keep an eye on her watch and half watch what sparks is doing.
Alice nods quietly "Sometimes the mind protects itself by burrying memories of things that are too painful for the person to remember. If your memories are starting to resurface, it's good you have someone who can help you."

'thats what i thought ... the helping thing i mean .. ' *then turns her back on the rock and sits on the ground, her back now pressed against the tree and strain sounding in the voice .. then asks 'hey Alice .. what does res .. '
*whatever the rest of the word was is lost in the loudish ~pop pop crack bang~ of the rock suddenly bouncing about before exploding at the 119 second mark
'holy ... ' *in the silence afterwards .. and then looks at Alice .. a grin starting to show, revealing the youth of Maria 'how long was that? wasn't that cool? i thought it was cool after i figured out what happened and controlled it .. well .. after Jackie.' *gold eyes peer at Alice, waiting for a response

Alice grins "That was pretty cool!" she replies "I wish I could do something cool like that." After an awkward pause, she says "What happened.. to Jackie.. it wasn't your fault. It was an accident. A very sad one, but an accident nonetheless."
Alice sits down facing Maria and asks "What you were going to ask before the rock exploded? 'What does res...?"

*the grin fades at the mention of Jackie, then the worried look changes to indifference with a shrug* 'dunno .. its just something that i kinda remembered .. someone asking another 'why is she so resiliant ? ' dunno what the word means .. don't know a lot of stuff actually .. most of what i know comes from listening under city grates i guess .. or hiding in places people don't look for other people .. seen stuff i guess i shouldn't have too .. '
*shrugs again and then 'so .. how long was that? .. i think it was a long minute' .. *her ability to switch subjects so quickly, could cover a bunch of different reasons or just the fact she's got more on her mind than a lot of other people. who knows for sure.

Alice is quiet for a second as she tries to remember the definition of the word resilient. "Well," she begins "a person who is resilient is someone who is really tough and and is able to recover from things that happen to them." She hesitates before adding "If you ever have questions about stuff, I can try to answer them if you want."
Looking at her watch, she replies "Um, its been almost a minute." After a second, Alice says "It's been a minute...now"

'yeah .. having someone explain stuff is good .. makes me seem less stupid. only a minute? .. jeez .. i guess thats all i can hold it for. was hoping it was longer .. i wanna see how long i can hold it for. wanna help me do that? .. i can leave a charged marble behind in my .. other me, the sparky one .. '
