" Judging by the way he looked at you and acted later, I'd say yes." Dexy replied to Maria as they walked in.
" No kidding." Ashley replied to Alice. " this is bigger than any of the messes we've gotten into before. And now with will trying to whip me into a leader..." she sighed.
Trevor, tonguetied and blushing as Dexy and Maria came in, said nothing.
Dexy flopped at an empty seat at the table, and looked at the others. " Sorry, the new girl break up the conversation?"
" Ashley will get used to it in time." Tyler replied. " And I'm glad Dexy is having an impact on Maria before..." He trailed off when she came in, " before she got stubborn on us and tried to take off on her own again."
Felicia elbowed Ty. " Be nice."
" Yes mommie." He replied playfully before continuing. " I don't think bringing outsiders in is a good idea. We don't know how big this is yet.." He turned his attention to Maria . "Now, about my car? What exactly did you do?"
Trevor sees Will leave, and excuses himself from the kitchen. After a while, Will realizes he's being followed. when he looks, Trevor is not that far behind, transformed to his flameform and trailing him.

Alice smiles politely at Dexy, "It's fine. We're not talking about anything important." Alice gets up and throws her container in the garbage and walks out of the kitchen with a polite "if you will excuse me" She stands in the hallway unsure of where she should go, wishing she had someone to talk to, and ultimitely goes outside and sits on the front step.

Seeing Trevor following, William grins, heading for the quarry. "Catch me if you can. And keep the trees from burning." He calls back, picking up speed, and zipping among the Florida evergreens.

Will could see Trevor grin, and he poured on speed as well, trying to keep up.
Both Maria and Alice could hear Ashley and Dexy's conversation escalating in the kitchen into an arguement. Finally, Dexy got up and barged out the door past Alice towards her bike, sputtering" why did I think this could be a good idea..."
Ashley stormed past the liviong, and spotting Maria, spat out, " Your new friend has got issues with teamwork. Seems she doesn't like the idea of anyone telling her what to do." She didn't wait for a reply and stormed off, her room's door slamming nearly off it's hinges shortly after. " I'll talk to her." Felicia sighed, getting up and heading towards Ashley's room.

Alice sits quietly, trying to not attract the attention of Dexy or Ashley, worried that they will start taking their anger out on her. Instead, she sits in a chair on the front porch quietly, as she wonders why she is even there in the first place.

William dives into the quarry turning into flame with a flourish that could be seen from the cottage. "What? Afraid to hurt an old man?" He taunts at Trevor, juking and dodging. Eventually, he hovers into a martial stance. "Hit me."

'outsiders? .. guess that will eventually include me too. great' .. *looks up in time to see Dexy storm out and get onto her bike, and hearing her outburst, feels her grasp on her power start to slip and slide back to the darkness that wants to overwhelm her.
'hey Dexy? .. don't ... go' .. *watches the bike start up and drown out her words, and now her head turns towards the cabin and stands up and moves towards the front .. watching Dexy get smaller as she drives off a ways and then mutters 'blade safe then .. my almost sister'
'looks at Alice .. 'hey .. glad your safe. glad they like you. enjoy that while it lasts. they'll probably turn on you too soon enough. hope your stronger than me' .. *then slowly moves into the house and pauses to look at Ty in the livingroom 'you wanna see what i did? .. why don't you come outside. i don't trust myself inside, but at least now i got a way to defend myself if its needed. and hey .. guess what? .. it took an outsider that knew what i went thru. why? .. cause she went thru it too .. so come on'
*as she exits the house .. stops to look at the skates that are hers .. and then looks back at Ty and smiles sadly as a tear slides down the face .. then once on the ground moves further away .. 'what you saw before? .. was the start of this .. except i landed on the car and made a me on the paint job .. ' *then without moving or warning of any kind .. erupts into a crackling lightbulb .. the edge of the field now crackling about 3 feer from where Alice and Ty stand. then as quickly as it started .. it drops, and more tears slide down.
'took someone i didn't know. one thats gone now, cause she's an outsider .. well .. that makes me one too .. so i'll stay out here from now on. safer that way i guess. never now when i'll slip and fry everyone. let the old guy know its not running if i'm concerned for other people .. alright?' .. *wipes the tears off and then turns to move to the side of the cabin and slows enough to pick up her jacket and then moves towards the trees.

" I didn't mean you, or Dexy or anyone else here. You're jumping to conclusions" Tyler replied as he followed Maria outside. He watched with an impressed look on his face as she demonstrated. " you can tell Will yourself when he gets back."
Felicia appeared on the step next to Tyler. " She left already?"
" Yeah. what was it all about?" Tyler asked as Maria disappeared from view.
" Dexy wanted to go into the city and pick up her things from her motel and Ash told her it wasn't a good idea and to wait until morning. And it seems Dexy isn't used to being told what to do." Felicia explained. " She's got Ash doubting her self again, scared Will made a mistake and no one will listen to her."
" I'll go talk some sense into her." Tyler sighed, turning to alice. " Do you think you can get Maria to reason? I'm pretty sure Dexy will be back, she seems to care about Sparks too much to abadon her like that. You'd swear they really were related the way they've bonded."
Trevor grinned. " I'm not scared . Remember, you're the one who wants me to use my powers." He replied as he darted forward towards Will in a tackling motion, by at the last moment, he veered. A shock wave pulsed from Trevor as his flame enveloped body seemed to explode, catching Will in the 20' radius blast ( 13dmg).

Recovering quickly, and gaining speed, William charges behind the away-flying Trevor. Body-checking hard into Trevor's back, William grab's the younger man's bandaged arm, wrenching it behind his shoulder. "Do that again." He says, in a daring his. "Do that again. I want to see if your arm will come off with me." And he says this, all the while steering Trevor towards the ground.

Alice smirks a little at Tyler's comments 'With the day I've had' she thinks to herself 'it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were related' Her smirk disapears and she looks a bit worried. "Well," she says slowly, "I guess I can try. I don't know if it'll do any good though." As she stands up, she goes back into the house and grabs the t-shirt Maria had lent her, figuring it was a good way to start. Finding Maria, she says "Here's your t-shirt. Thank you for lending it to me." Pausing, she adds "I don't think Dexy left for good. She just wanted to go and get some things from her hotel room. Besides," she continues "no one thinks you have to stay outside all the time. I don't think everyone hates you" *Alice shrugs* "I don't, anyway, and Ashley doesn't and Trevor sure doesn't" Alice briefly grins remembering Trevor's earlier thought but is serious again "So you should come inside. It's safer there."

*turns to look at Alice from over the shoulder and then motions to a dry rock nearby and moves the shirt closer 'not a biggie .. no one else offered thier's to you .. besides my jacket covered enough. well it did .. sorta but there you go.
'followed orders enough to stop the trailing car and to make sure Fel got home safe. don't see what the big deal was? guess part of it was ashley backed down' *stares at a rock a distance off and then looks at Alice again 'you wanna know something? Dexy is the only one that knows what happened to me. the doc used her too, but not as long as they had me. and i think mom let them use me.'
*rests her chin on the knees again .. and seems quiet, but the mind is struggling to recall more. the images of the darkness and the bright lights breaking up the residual pain with more pain and screams .. always screams, and the cries for 'mommy take me home, i'll be good', dance their never ending dance in her head for now. the occasional phrase in french and the comment 'why's she so resiliant?'

" You're crazy, Will!" Trevor exclaimed as Will steered him towards the ground. With his best effort, he tried to spin out of Will's grasp, his flames growing in intensity as he struggled.

Alice sits on the rock Sparks had motioned to as she listens. She cocks her head and tries to hear what Sparks is thinking to try to get a better understanding of what she is going through, since she has no idea of what to say to try to comfort her.

*just more of the hodge podge muddled memories circilling inside Maria's head. now and then a question stirs as something is recalled with more distinction, but mostly confusion about what really happened to the little girl from the quieter, happier memories.
*questions like .. why me? .. why did it happen? .. was mom really part of it?
*with a deep sigh Sparks turns to Alice 'its not running if your afraid of hurting someone that might be a friend .. is it? .. *the memories of a 3-legged puppy's head getting blown up flash with sudden fierceness in the mind as she looks at alice

Alice looks shocked from what she heard from Sparks and she stutters, trying to find the right words to say. "Running away from your friend won't help your situation though. Staying and learning to control your powers will help keep something bad again, like it did before." Alice worries that she might have said too much and watches Sparks quietly as she waits for her reaction.
