EPISODE 3: STRANGE ADVENTURES

The team enters the elevator. Adam quickly manipulates the controls. "We'll want to get to the central control room at the top spire."

Dr. Light chimes in. "Wouldn't hitting the power system make more sense?"

Adam shakes his head. "Only if we want to crash the city."

Dr. Light nods. "OK, but I got a feeling we're stepping right into the Hawk's den. No offense." She says to Shayera.

Shayera nods at Dr. Light. "None taken." she replies as they head toward the central control room, keeping an eye out for signs of trouble. (notice [dice=20+10][rand=9005277815114406847083220619644685004022322664886558140808609434]

The doors to the Central Control room open and Shayera immediately recognizes some of the equipment the Thanagarians have brought with them - it's leftover gear from their attempt to create a Hyperspace Bypass on Earth. However, she doesn't have time to dwell on it any further as Hro Talek approaches. "Status report?"

(Everyone but Hawkgirl is hiding behind the invisibility screen - if you want to attempt to do anything, you'll have to roll on your stealth. Hawkgirl is going to have to roll on her Bluff - and she'll need a high one)

GA held his position, wishing he had kept an arrow ready, though he knew he could draw them fast if needed. Instead, he waited, letting Shayera and Carter handle the situation.

Batman is taking in the surroundings just outside the elevator and moving quietly out of the elevator, slowly to keep inside the invisibility screen without alerting Hro's sharp senses.

Hawkman manages to stay silent and not give away the fact that he's not a real Thanagarian. Hro simply listens to Shayera's report. "Good work, Corporal. Please take your post, the generators are going to start charging."

Batman, you recognize the charging sequence from the data Shayera provided during the invasion, but something seems off.

Green Arrow, you've seen a lot of soldiers in your life - mostly on the other side of a protest, granted. You know the difference between the ones who are just trying to do a job, and ones who have done something terrible, or are willing to do it. Everyone in this room is the latter, and it makes your blood boil. These are hardened killers, and you know, in your heart, they are about to do something horrible.

All of you hear Dr. Light about to gasp when Adam Strange covers her mouth. They both have a look of unrequited horror in their eyes.

Oliver could tell by body language that they were just in time. Green Arrow realizes exactly what control panel he'll need to hit to shut this down.

Batman realizes that if they are in the Alpha Centauri system, than the Hyperspace bypass is not aimed at earth, and might still be close to the Gordanian home system...

...but Hawkgirl realizes the horror of it all; not only will the bypass destroy the planet they are currently on, but will also consume the Gordanian homeworld in a similar conflagration.

Flash is wondering why the temperature seems to have dropped in the room, and why Hawkgirl looks so horrified.

Oliver's eyes narrowed as as he spotted his target. The arrow fell down into place with practiced ease, the bow already drawing as he notched it. He made no attempt to warn his collegues what he was going to do as he took aim at the control panel and let go, sending the explosive tipped arrow to shut down the Thangarian's machine [dice=20+32] (use hero point to add 20 using Ultimate Aim feat)
