'oh cra ... i ain't gonna loose another without a fight .. ' *then blindly goes after him .. hands feeling the way to where he vanished .. and discovers the chute and taking a deep breath .. moves carefully down the sloping area .. feet braced on one side, back on the other ..
-= i'm coming .. might be slow, but yer not alone mikey =-
*continues downward into the darkness and dearly hopes that the chute isn't that long a journey. pauses partway down, and wonders if she should let the others know, but her friend is in danger, and he comes first.
*from the sides, she can judge the age of the chute. 'oh man .... ' *whispered quietly as she feels herself slip a little .. and continues on carefully .. trying desperately to get a sense of michael .. and wonders how far she's gone now .. and how much further she must go.

Nilo laughed heartily. " you agency types are all alike, always suspicious. I could care less what anyone does with this city, I'm merely passing through. I don't do any cross border dealings, unlike, say one of my competitors from Vancouver, Ellis Warsit." the name is well known by Will as Ellis is one of the biggest underworld figures on the West coast. " I caught wind his neice Dexy was in town. Coincidence?"
Nilo lit up a cigar.

Jason followed closely, saying nothing behind her. When they reached her apartment, it was untouched. Before she could enter, too far, Jason pulled her back towards the door, pointing at scratches on the lock. " You've had company. You better make this quick, I'll take a quick look around. As she ducked into her room, he said aloud. " how well do you know that couple that was here last night?"

Below her, a sploosh ended Michaels screams in Spark's mind. As she inched forward, she came to the lip of the chute, and could tell by her light that it emptied into a catch basin ten feet below her. Michael panicked below, but eventually made it to the edge and climbed out. I'm okay, just hurt my pride. Looks like you're gonna have to get wet to get down here. There's no way I can get back up.
Down one of the tunnels, a faint scuffling grabs their attention What was that?

A bit shaken at the sight of the scratches on the lock, Alice grabs a duffel bag out of her closet and starts stuffing clothes into it. Calling out to Jason, she replies "I've known Janey for as long as I've been in Miami. She's my best friend." She adds, too quietly for Jason to hear, "She also doesn't know about what happened last year."
Out loud, she continues with, "I only met her new boyfriend, Dimitri, yesterday, but he seemed nice enough."
Grabbing a clip off her bedside table, she clips her hair back. Alice goes to the doorway of her room and says, "You should check on Eric to make sure he's ok. I'll meet you guys outside in a minute or so." She then goes back into her room to continue packing.

William simply allows a soft smile. "As you said, all us agency types are suspicious." Looking over the marina for a second, William returns his attention to Nilo. "I am flattered to hold such high regard for you, Mr. Domicelli, however, I am acting of my own accord, and my approaching you has nothing to do with the Canadian government, or your business with Canada. I am simply acting to prevent a wound from spreading its infection, as it were, outwards. Even if you did sign so little as a non-agression pack, with the understanding you'ld be left alone, as I am sure Ellis is, himself doing now, it would be foolish of you to do anything but reject them. Wth a foothold in Miami, any city in North America would be a potential target, including Detroit."

-= shhhh .. dont panic .. i ain't gonna looseyou to the dark =- *then braces herself and then repositions herself, and takes a small step back from the lip of the chute looking for purchase to her feet*
-=i brought the power cord .. its about a good 25 feet .. gonna lower it down to you .. wrap it under your arms .. andwhen i start pulling .. walk up the wall to me .. got it? =- *then lowers the cord down in a loop to him, after tying it about her waist. hopeing that she's strong enough to do this, waits for him to get the other loop about him.
-= ready? =- *trying hard to keep the fear out of the voice, starts to take in the slack and then gets Michael moving upwards towards the chute* -=first things first mikey .. we get you up .. and then ... =-

Eric enters his apartment furious "What the crap!" she shouts. "Geeze! Leave for one day and look what happens, gosh" Eric snatches up his duffle bag and starts throwing clothes in it. He grabs his stash of $300 he had hidden under his toilet lid. He grabbs his tooth brush and all the other toiletries he needs. He grabs all the clothes he can fit into his duffle and the power cords for his laptop and his cell phone. "Stupid people, no respect." Eric almost forgot. He calls Al on his cell phone
"It seems all clear. My house is trashed though. I'll head up to your and meet you there." Eric egins to trudge up the stair clearly upset abotu his house.

Alice answers "Ok, Eric, I'll see you in a few minutes." Grabbing a couple of international phone crds out of her bed side table, she grabs her duffel bag and heads into the living room.
Adopting the tone Jason has been using, she tells him "Eric's on his way. He said someone trashed his apartment." She then turns and heads to the bathroom, in order to get the toiletries she needs.

*continues to pull slowly as michael rises up and out of the depths, the cord pooling about the ankles as she hauls up -= almost there mike .. just hold on a bit longer .. okay?.. i almost got you .. =-
*then feels his hand moving about at the lip of the chute .. and pulls one more time .. and then as both his hands grab onto the chute, relaxes the cord to lean forward to help pull him up to safety .. the cord slipping down past them both unnoticed and then holds onto him, trying hard not to shake
-= next time .. its my turn to pick the ride .. okay? .. cause you sure got as lousy choice in rides =- *her words shaking with fear and other emotions and then checks him over with a narrow beam to make sure he's fine*
-= now hold still .. i wanna make su ... =- *then the eyes turn towards the sounds from the side tunnel .. -= uhh .. maybe now's not the time to see if you're alright? .. so lets get going .. this is how to walk the wall .. slow, but its safe =- *demonstrates .. and once they're on theirway realizes with horror .. that they're stuck
-= uhh mike? .. untie the cord from yourself before we go further .. okay? =- *then feels him moving to do just that .. and feels a small pull on the cord -= oh chri .. dont move =- *then watches as he lets go of the cord to look at her then turns to watch the area they just came back from and feels a second pull and then tries to undo it from herself before anything bad happens*

Alice comes out of the bathroom with her toiletries, which she places in her duffell bag. By now, Jason is starting to look like he's feeling a bit impatient, but Alice ignores him and grabs a messenger bag containing a laptop and the cords that go with it. She puts her phone cards inside the bag and sets it down by the duffell bag.
Spotting Eric, who's just arrived, looking upset due to the ransacking of his apartment, Alice goes over and gives him a quick hug. "I'm sorry to hear about your flat. It really sucks."

'oh .. its just the water pulling at the loop .. for a second i thought that something had a hold of it' .. *whispers with a lot more relief as she finally figures out the slight tugging is actually just the slight current pulling at the loop and then turns the eyes to look towards the faint sounds that seem closer now, and slowly draws up the cord, to hide their presense

As she starts to draw the cord away, a sharp tug on it throws her balance off and crashing back into Mikey. He lost his balance and fell backwards, back down the chute and landed with another splash. After a moment, mikeys nervous voice popped in her head again There's something down here . At the same time, a throaty growl echoed the chamber below

*fights against the inertia of hitting Michael .. and the loose gravelly debris on the ground and flails about
*with a small squeak of fear, feels her feet slide out and sits hard on the floor of the chute .. then the squeak gets louder as she slides downwards, feet first .. and struggles to recall if she remembers how to swim*
*the thoughts flee from the mind as the water closes over the head and the struggle to get upward to the surface now takes place*

Eric hugs Al back and says "Its alright, I'll just have to find a nother place to call home. Atleast they didn't trash your place." Eric looks around. " Hey Jason you alright? You seem a little edgy." Eric walks over to him and sits on a chair across from him.

" Now, Mr. Black, if there is nothing else, Leonard will escort you ashore, I have a gorgeous day to enjoy."
As Lenny began to lead Will towards the ramp, Nilo called after him. oh say hello to Agent Washburn when you see him for me, I heard he was just transferred here from Windsor." He paused to puff on his cigar. " Oh wait, he would have been caught in that massacre yesterday. Pity, I'll miss his banter in our exchanges. Nevermind, good day, Mr. Black."
[Eric/ Alice]
" This isn't making any sense." Jason mumbled, turning to Eric. " What did you have that anyone could be looking for?" He realized Alice was eyeing him, he turned his attention to her, almost acting jealous as she hugged him as he forced a slight cough?. " Anything you want me to carry?"
The thuds of a heavy fist plodded against the door. " Police.We know you're in there. Open the door."
