Ch 8. The gang's all here, almost

"You know." William says, walking lightly closer to Wraith."I know what you're doing. And, no matter how much they have a hate on for me, they know I didn't kill them. Despite what you may have concocted in that small mind of yours, an unnarmed man cannot shoot a building dead in minutes. Atlas is dense, but even he knows it." He takes another step closer. "I also know you're a tease." He raises his hands into the air. "And lastly, I know that all you want is for me to hit you, so you can take me out. I think thweword kids use to today for that is 'lame'. Toodles." And twiddles his fingers, walking away towards the vehicles.

Alice watches tense with fear as she watches everything going on around her. She winces as Jason is hit with the ball of green flame and screams as the explosion from Trevor sends debris out into the street, along with a pair of their attackers. She starts to panic and tries hard not to lose control as she mutters "I don't know how much more of this I can take in one day, Michael, I really don't"

Alice jumps in the air, uttering a cry of fear as Jason's cellphone rings in the front. She scrambles over the front seat and grabs it answering "Hello?"

rubbing his shoulder Eric looks to Jason "Your Turn" he says as the ball of green flames strikes him knocking him to the ground. "Not cool!" Eric says as he slows and gets ready to run at the other (I'm assuming its not my attack considering my last attack used 3 attacks)

As William heads for the cars, he says to the bronze guy "And, Dmitri, I believe, do give Mara my best." he says, sarcastically, shooing him out of the way.

Alice climbs the rest of the way into the front seat, and she moves the drivers seat back up, just in case she has to make a quick getaway.

As she waits for the person to answer, her gaze drifts over to the alley where she sees William making a shooing motion to someone, who, after glancing at him for a minute, she recognizes. Alice's jaw drops in disbelief. 'No,' she thinks to herself 'it can't be him... can it?'

*the knock back and behind the dumpster rattles the memories so they dissolve into the nothingness that spawned them. the blast of green fire racing past the front of the dumpster in front of her, reminds sparks that she's in mortal danger.

*looking about, tries to recall where she is and how she got there, and only comes up with two voices that seem trustworthy. trevor and william. its those voices that her mind latch onto to stay focused for now.

*not knowing just what is really going on looks beside her for something to use as a weapon and comes up with 'broken bottles? .. you gotta be kidding me. well whatever works i guess ' *and starts to gather up the largest shards that are lying about and discovers a spike of wood that might make a good weapon since its like a long dagger

" Fine William, have it your way." Wraith snapped, before melting back into the shadows. " Transit, time to go now."

" Hey, who is this?" Tyler's voice asked over the phone. " where's Jason?"

Dimitri looked at Will, puzzlement in his eyes. " You know who I am? And who is this Mara?" The croatian accent of his voice is unmistakable to alice. He turns his head slightly, listening to the radio in his ear before taking flight with a burst of energy. He scooped up one of his companions and headed for the rooftops. The other attacker had already slipped away.

As Eric charges, the still standing guy got his companion to his feet and the pair effortlessly jumped over top of him to land somewheres on the warehouse roof.


In the distance, the wail of approaching sirens was again playing the group's song

William turns to Jason and Trevor, getting Maria into the truck. "Now can we go?"

"This is Alice," Alice replies "We had some trouble and Jason went out to do his thing." Upon hearing the sirens, she curses "Oh, bugger off! Not again!" Blushing, she says to Tyler "Not you, the police. Look, we have to go now, did you want me to pass a message to Jason?"

As she's talking on the phone, her mind is racing a mile a minute. 'That was Dmitri! He has powers too!' she thinks to herself. She automatically thinks about how she hopes that Dmitri didn't see her and realize the truth about her. Alice's mind then turns to Jane and fear runs through her. 'I have to warn her!' she thinks frantically.

Seeing police cars in the rearview mirror, she opens the door and yells "Come on you guys! We have to hit the road RIGHT NOW!"

As the too jump over Eric he curses under his breath. As he hears the Sirens he thinks to himself "Geeze! again!" He runs over to Jason helping him up. "Lets go Jay." He jumps into the passangers seat then hops into the back leaving the passagner seat for Jason.

*sits in a tight ball .. shaking hard .. the mind still shut off from everyone else as the small tiny fragments of the past seem to echo in the head. one hand moves up to rub the temple, then bonelessly sags against whoever's beside her. passed out with the absolute terror and strees of whats been happening in the past little while. the dingy grey of the skin apparent to all, but now is slowly turning back to the deep starless black from before as the body totally relaxes its hold on the present.

" Fine, I won't keep you." Ty replied. " Tell him to meet me where dad used to take us to get away, he knows where it is. And that Ashley is okay. See you soon." The line wnet dead as Eric as the others piled in. Trevor reverted to normal and climbed into the big block Chevy, obviously unhappy when Will joined him and both vehicles set out seconds ahead of the arriving police.
