Lex heard the floor boards squeak from upstairs and flinched. He couldn't figure why Vivian would be in the back room. Nods, saying in a good natured tone, in Chinese, "Of course. One meets the oddest people at a bakery. Yonette, feel free to pick out something that appeals to you for your superb help with the day." Looks about the bakery for something hearty, but light to go with tea.

As per the previous plan, Caleb will drive off in the general direction the car fled in and ask people if they have seen it, and which went it went. Since it probably made quite an impression Caleb will continue this until he starts to run into people who did not actually see it, in order to hopefully nail down a general area it disappeared in for his astral scouting.

Vivian frowns at the sound coming from the back entrance. 'What in the world?' When the well dressed man and asian woman come in from outside, Vivian smiles politely and says, "Please take a look at the selection. I'll be right back to help you in a moment." Vivian then heads to the back to see who is by the entrance.
Assuming she sees the stranger, Vivian says loudly, hoping Lex can hear her, "Who are you? Why are you sneaking in the back entrance?"

Vivian moves towards the back, in the direction of the strange noise.

Rex and Yonette, you see the woman head into the dimly lit backrooms as you survey not only the variety of baked goods, but the large ovens and display cases

Dark Rider, you are noticing your own footsteps now, and how they are causing creeks, as you look down the dark stairwell, you see bits of light poking out from a solid iron door sealed by a deadbolt on the other side.
(roll to Trap/snare animals skill to see if you detect the alarm bells)
Lex, you have the molasses in hand, having secured everything else.

Avery sees the boarded up windows of the old brown brick building in front of him. He'll need to be careful, given that this is one of Boss Maroni's favorite speakeasies.

Caleb stops about a mile outside city limits, near a crossroads between the main streets and the side-streets leading to a lot of the independent farms west of the city. He knows full well that a lot of the farmers here resent his family's wealth and their attempts over the years to swindle out their land. He'll find few friends in this region.

Now why would a legit bakery have a nightingale floor?There's nothing like having your suspicions confirmed. Noticing the light at the end of the staircase, the Rider forms a plan. Solid-looking iron door, locked from the other side -- all right, not an insurmoutable problem. But the light on the other side means that there's someone on the other side. The Dark Rider now smiles earnestly, because he now knows how to solve both problems -- the Nightingale floor and the locked door -- at once. He picks a nice place where he can hide and wait until whoever is down there comes up. Yonette moves her arm and presses it against Rex's chest in an effort to push him back out of danger's way. shes not sure what she heard, but moves on instinct to 'protect' her employer from any possible danger. they are both in view of the doorway.
<chinese> 'be careful Master. something is wrong in the back and you might be struck for being in the way' *to explain why she's trying to move him out of the way

Yonette and Rex both realize that there is something dangerous going on in the darkened back room.
Dark Rider takes his position in the stairwell, as Vivian is right upon him.

Lex, one of your little trick alarms, a small bell, rings inside your room just as you open the door.

DR grabs the young woman, sweeps her off her feet and plants a kiss on her mouth, as much to keep her from crying out as any other reason. Before she can recover from that surprise, he whispers with a pronounced Midwestern accent:
"You'd better be quiet, Miss. I reckon y'all don't want those people out there to come over here -- seein' as how they followed you here from that ruckus in the street.
Don't worry, I'll be gone without harmin' a hair on your charmin' head if you answer me one li'l question:
