Issue 13: Tally's Tale

Karnak's hand is slashed, and he responds with a roundhouse kick. "Impressive."

Tabitha tosses Gorgon into the midst of the two Inhuman women.

Medusa turns. "You dare?"

"The Avengers dare." Captain America somersaults over the flames. "Ghostsabre, free Hawkeye."

Spider-Man's blows take Crystal to her knees as she burns off the last of his webbing.

Ronan marches towards Spider-Man. "If you've hurt my wife, insect, know that I will keep you alive for the next three centuries simply to find new sensations of pain to teach you." He turns to Medusa. "Forgive me my Queen, but I've summoned the rest of Gorgon's Elite Guard."

"That doesn't sound good." Songbird steadies herself for another assault.

"But you'll be a princess! I thought all little girls wanted to be princesses! It's what the ads told me! They couldn't be wrong could they?" Maximus sighs. "Tally, honey, sweetheart - you're not in much position to be-" He's silenced with a blazing CRACK followed by a rush of air. Quicksilver stands over the unconscious Maximus with unimaginable fury written across his features. A moment later, however, he relaxes, but also finds himself leaning on Tally to steady himself. "That, was almost enjoyable." He groans. "Come, girl, we need to leave." He sees the fear and uncertainity on Tally's face. "I cannot promise you safety, or refuge. All that I know is that we should speak with your family, child, and settle the matter." For a moment, he ponders, before resting on his haunches, like a runner about to start a race. "Take it from one who knows all too well - nothing valuable is achieved by running away from a problem." He allows himself a small smile. "And you child, should have no reason to run from anything. You have a long life ahead of you, and you've already made friends with one of the greatest men who has ever lived - myself excluded of course." He smirks. "Trust in this if nothing else - there is no power in this universe, that will make the Avengers abandon you - and as long as they stand with you, so shall Pietro Maximoff. Now, let us see if I can operate these controls."

Pietro can easily see the relief appear on her face after he is knocked out by his hit(s). "Why would I want to speak with a family that wants next to nothing to do with me, save if what he says is true want to experiment on me. My own mother did not even say a word to me and my father held her back. He seems more like a person that is a father then anyone else has been to me." She says while pointing to Maximus on the ground

"But yes the Avengers are my friends and family, and it was wrong of me to run away from them." She hangs her head knowing she has to do the right thing. "We should probably head back!"

"Of course I dare," Tabitha snarked, using her intangibility to pass through Hawkeye and his stone prision," look at the company I'm keeping. It's a contract thing." On the other side of Hawkeye, she dropped her intangibility and took a hold of stone with one hand as she drew the other hand back," Now Hawkey, this might tingle a bit..." .Her warning trailed as she let loose with a powerful punch

Tabitha's punch frees the Avenging Archer. "Thanks kid." as he rolls to pick up his bow. Karnak pulls back from Wolverine to gather with the rest of the Inhuman Royal Family.

A rush of Inhumans and Kree soldiers storm into the conference room, weapons at the ready.

Songbird takes point. "So...round 2? Is that what it's gonna be?"

There's a pop of ozone and a small flash as Tally and Quicksilver materialize in the midst of the group.

Medusa cries out. "Seize her!"

Pietro stands infront of Karnak who leaps towards Tally. "Any who attempt to take this girl will have to do so over my dead body."

"The terms of your transaction are acceptable to me." Ronan slaps his open hand with the blunt end of his hammer-like weapon.

"NO! ENOUGH!" Crystal races out towards Tally. "Please. We don't want to hurt you. My name is Crystal....I'd really like to know who you are."

Snorts, picking up his dropped cigar as Karnak retreats and regroups. "Consider yourself lucky, Bub, that I wasn't aiming more to the left with that shot."

[Dome]

DD leaps back and away from the man with the weapon. He tries to follow the combat that is going on in the room but all the noise disorients his senses and knocks him out of the fight for some time. He is able to finally focus just as the room fills with troops.

He looks around at everyone waiting to see what is going to happen now. He tries to calculate the angles that he would need to hit as many soldiers as possible with his one remaining half of his billy club.

He does manage to whisper, "anyone wanna catch me up on exactly what is going on here? Who are these people and how do we fight an army?"

Tally shocked by the arrival back at the headquarters takes a moment to get her bearings before she sees that everything is going down all at once. Hearing what first Medusa says forllowed by Pietro causes her to act out of instinct and copies the only ambient source of energy around her. That being the light with which she just starts to glow.

She does so to the maximum of her ability to blind all approaching and prepares to run away. Interrupted by the last statement from Crystal at least causes her to pause instead of out right run. But she is still in stunned silent waiting to see what happens.

"Your welcome, old man." Tabitha replied with a smirk, but it dropped quickly as Aura and Quicksilver returned. "Crap. I think this is where we need one of those incredible plans of Cap's the you I know always told me stories about. In the meantime..."

she again went intangible, and charged directly through the Inhumans and Kree , sputtering as she tried to shield her eyes as she got close to Tally," You keep this up and I'm changing your name from Aura to Glow Worm. just stand still for a sec"

(Provided the inhumans don't have a way to stop her) Once she was within reach, Tab dropped her intangibility long enough to grab hold of Tally and then resume her intangible state. She spoke softly despite a bit of strain from trying to block out the brightness that even closing her eyes was pointless," It's okay, they can't touch you now. You're safe, all they can do is talk until the others figure out how to get us out of this."

Captain America approaches Daredevil. "The Inhumans want Tally - apparently she was grown using Crystal's DNA fused with that of Ronan The Accuser of the Kree. The Inhumans apparently need her because their rule of the Kree Empire depends on them keeping their promise to help Kree reach a super-powered state of evolution. Quicksilver, Crystal's former husband, seems to be defending Tally, with his life if need be." DD can pick up the pride in Cap's voice at the last statement - the respect and the esteem with which he holds his old friend.

Ronan bellows. "Crystal - please. We need her. Terrigenesis is the only way to prove that our species are truly compatible."

"Ronan speaks correctly-"

"NO! This is my- our child Ronan! Our blood." SHe holds her hand out to Tally. "Please. We need to find out who she is. She stands with the Avengers-"

"Which is more than reason enough, if you ask me." Ronan sneers.

"We've bested you - in fact, we've bested your entire Empire before - on several occassions. Are you fond of such defeat?" Quicksilver fires back.

"Not Helping, Petey." Hawkeye surveys the room.

Crystal races forward gliding on air currents, only to come face to face with the mutant Speedster.

"Crystal."

"Pietro."

"You look well."

"Don't kid yourself. You know you can't stop me."

"I know. But I can no more allow any harm to come to this child than I would allow come to Luna." He folds his arms. "In fact, what would you be doing if your sister were insisting on taking her for some expermentation? Would you-AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Quicksilver is struck down by a bolt of lightning as Crystal burst into tears. "YOU SAVAGE! YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK HER NAME ANYMORE!"

"Kinda like you don't have the right to kidnap people in the name of your empire! Well, I think that means the time for talking is over folks! What does that big dummy The Thing say? OH yeah... It's Clobbering Time!"

Spider-Man isn't alright with the idea of his teammate being attacked with no one to defend him, so he fires another web at Crystal (Strike: [dice=20+12])and tries to toss her across the room.[rand=791718751845225872722113168597440160558945312228031462659425147329]

Her mother almost looking like she made an effort and Tally was almost going to reach out her hand not even thinking that maybe they are intangible and this would not work at all. But that all changed when she saw the sheer raw anger and the reaction.

Save vs. HF I guess..sure why not - [dice=20]

Not in absolute fear and wanting to run she stays her ground and stays holding Tabitha's hands. At this point she is still at a juncture not sure what to do, and obviously the inhumans not really helping at all. Half of her is sad by the whole situation the other half angry.

It took a fraction of a moment after Crystal Zaps Pitro that she actually starts to struggle against Tabitha as she really wants to help Pietro out![rand=593149489596971903955669805966935882074496540742491589391511664]

" Tally, no" Tabitha used her greater strength to put her friend closer and wrapped her arms around her. " That's what she wants you to do. you get close enough, and they grab you and flash, they beam out of here. Next thing you know, they've got you on a table cutting you into little pieces to figure out why you are the way you are."

Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the Inhumans, " Go ahead, tell her I'm right. It doesn't matter, you can't touch us as long as I hold on to her."

[Dome]

DD listens to Cap and all the other discussions going on, which of course he can hear from anywhere in the room. When he sees Quicksilver get hit as Crystal cries out he thinks, 'things seem about to go badly, again.'

Remembering the success he had against Dormammu DD was going to step forward and try to be the diplomat again, but webhead didn't give him the chance as he retaliated against crystal. He still doesn't attack but instead says to Medusa, "what do you plan to do with her should you take her from here?"

Crystal's electric assault ceases as Spider-Man tosses her against the wall.

Ronan rushes towards the Webslinger, but is met with a three-pronged assault as Cap's shield knocks the Universal weapon out of his hand, and Songbird hits him in the midsection with a giant pink boxing glove, setting him up to take a high-impact arrow in the face, knocking him out.

"And that's how it's done. Please play close attention new people and learn from your senior membership." Hawkeye smirks.

Songbird shakes her head as the combined Kree/Inhuman forces are about to strike. At the last second, a field of crimson strands blocks the path.

"Hold Guard!" Medusa turns to Daredevil. "I will answer your question, but only because you are the one who helped return my son to me*." Medusa, with the regality of a queen, moves towards Daredevil. "We will bring her to the Kree Homeworlds, celebrate and venerate her as proof of the Kree's Manifest Destiny and new evolutionary path to a more powerful form. However, to consilidate the union of Kree and Inhuman, her genetic structure would have to be tested by undergoing the most sacred of Inhuman rites - the Terrigenesis ritual."

"A ritual that is optional." Quicksilver squeeks as he tries to get to his feet. He stumbles, but is steadied as Captain America reaches out to his old comerade. "Or at least, for most Inhumans."

Medusa growls at Quicksilver. "You studied our ways well."

"You wouldn't have accepted anything less, and I learn quickly."

"And yet, here you are - rejected, your marriage annulled by royal decree and your rights and priviledges as part of the Inhuman society stripped from you. How pitiful you are - you are lower than even the lowest Alpha Primitive."

Quicksilver leans on the Captain. "Yes, I've made mistakes. Too many even for me to count in any short order." He chuckles. "but I take solace in that none of my mistakes have ever endangered an innocent. Of that at least, I remain whom I've always believed myself to be."

"If such self-justifications comfort your empty bed and your barren life, so be it." Medusa hisses, but turns back to Daredevil. "Her undergoing Terrigenesis is essential - only the Terrigen Mists, which transform and empower Inhuman society, can unite the Inhumans and the Kree."



*Late 80s/early 90s Daredevil - The Louise Simonson/John Romita Jr era - Daredevil ran into Karnak, Gorgon and Lockjaw and actually did help find Medusa's lost son.
