Next morning, Long smelled food cooking as he woke. Panek was in the kitchen, two frying pans going on the stove. " Morning," he said," hope you don't mind powdered eggs. Umm, you might want to watch this." He motioned to the television. A story was running about police encountering the mutant fugitive through the night, sending two seriously burned officers to hospital while the fugitive had escaped when an arrest was attempted around 2AM. Images of three burned out patrol cars were the last image before they changed to a second top story.
There was no sign of Trevor yet. "He's in his room asleep." Panek said with a shrug.

Long gets up with a groan, partially from the lumpy couch and also because of the shit-storm on the news. Long goes to wake up Trevor with a very loud knock on the door.

A moan came from inside the room, followed by a drowsy, " Go away!"
Panek chuckled," At least he's conscious. That's a good sign. I peeked in when I first saw the story to make sure he hadn't snuck out. This has Brethren written all over it."

Long breathes a sigh of relief. He was really nervous there for a bit. With the way Trevor went to bed last night and the news this morning Long was worried that Trevor might have done something desperate. "I'd like to delay telling him as long as possible. He is going to hit the roof when he hears this. But then again, we should tell him soon just in case Ashley shows up also wanting to make sure he didn't do it."

Panek looked at Long, waiting for him to make a decision. " you need to make him think with his head and not his heart. And if he goes off half cocked, we're screwed too."
From the bedroom came sounds that Trevor was stirring.

Long goes to turn off the TV and waits for Trevor to emerge from his room.

With the TV off, Long could hear Trevor better. Instead of getting up though, he could hear Trevor was moaning and calling out Allison's name. Then there was something else, a slight whiff of smoke in the air.

"Damn!" Long does a power slam at the door. [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] and minus 40% because he's not angry or in a frenzy = 10 points of damage to the door. The lock should be busted open though.[rand=3953143539451471368609987570872555398421577277007698172766719336]

The door popped open easily. The scent of smoke was heavier, but there were no flames. Trevor was tossing and turning, and it was clear the smoke was coming from the blankets.

Long runs to the kitchen to grab the oven mitts and then runs back to Trevor. He then tries to shake Trevor awake. "Trevor! Wake up! You are having a bad dream! Wake UP! You are about to set the place on fire!"

Trevor grunted and groaned as his eyes opened. " Huh? What? What's going on?" Despite Long's fears, Trevor wasn't hot to touch, but as he moved, Long could see a scorch mark on the sheet where it had been balled up in his fist.

Long sits down on the bed with a sigh of relief. In a joking manner, "We are going to have to get you some asbestos sheets." More serious now, "Sorry about busting in here like this, but it looks like you were having a bad dream. You were calling out to Allison. Take a look at your sheets. Please, do not feel bad, but I would think that dreams like this will continue. It might be a good idea to go see a shrink sometime soon to help you deal with the trauma."

" Sorry I freaked you out." Trevor said sheepishly, looking at the scorch mark. " I..., yeah, probably. If I get out of this mess in one peice." He sniffed, the cowered a bit," Tell me you're not making breakfast."

"Nope. Surprise, surprise. Panek is the one cooking. It certainly smells better than ramen noodles."

"Well, he's good for something." Trevor smirked. " Wait, did he eat any of it?"
"I heard that ." Panek replied. from the next room. " Jackass"
Trevor merely smirked and started to get up.
