It has been 8 days since the Victory fled with the Vulpese refugees from the invading army of Rawg. Yet still it seems to be the subject of every low whisper aboard, as genuine fear seems to permeate the recycled air aboard the vessel.
Fegh is manning his station on the command deck as Captain Robhen makes another inspection of the crew. Balus has been assigned another security detail with his buddy Slycer as they walk the various decks, looking for any signs of trouble. All they encounter is more whispers and rumors. Krystal is actually off-duty, charging herself on her bed.

Krystal is actually enjoying her time off right now, almost as much as she enjoys her specially designed bed. The week since they lef that planet was good for recharging her batteries. Finally bored and charged she hops out of her bed and gets ready to face anything. Even though off duty she tosses on her standard mechanic garb.

Balus gave his partner a light and playful shot to the shoulder," Good to have you back in one piece, Slyce. could have really used your help. Things really went to pot on that last away mission."

Fegh from his station tries to pull up any and all sensor data on the ship of the Rawg army. He is intrigued by them, but also concerned that Vulpese will not be the last they see of them. He also continually checks their current sensor readouts to be sure that things are working nominally and no ships are closing on them.

Krystal, you are going about the ship, noticing all the gossip and rumors, all of them dripping with fear. You enter the mess hall, where a group of bio-freaks are sitting around a table. You notice that each of them is wearing a blood red badge on their left shoulder.
"Of course it went bad, I wasn't there to protect ya, ya big baby." Slycer retruns the punch with his bionic arm, shaking it a little. "You're alright, eh?" as you pace down the halls, you get closer to the mess room.
The Captain stands over Fegh's shoulders. "It bothers you, doesn't it? The thought of something so much bigger? Alien? Hostile? What part bothers you the most, Lieutenant? Speak freely."

"How ineffective we were Sir," Fegh says in answer. "What if we run into them again? What if they attack our world? We could not even stop one of their lieutenants, with a group of us fighting him."
Fegh continues to look over the information if any, "What if we encounter their homeworld? I would just like to be better prepared. Who knows what else we will encounter out here sir. The more information we have on every thing we encounter the better we will be for the next encounter."

Not sure what is going on but mildly curious Krystal approaches the table quietly and unobtrussively as if a person passing it by so she can just see what she can learn. She will take stock of what they look like (freaky or freaky like she is - translation...not at all freaky) Once to the table she slows down to walk past just so she can get as much information as possible.

" Yeah, sure." Balus replied. " I just..., Was that what it was like when the Tarloks first came? Those Rawgs, they just overran the place for the fun of it and no one could do anything to stop them."

The Captain nods. "Good. Let the fear guide you" he leans in. "But don't let it control you Lieutenant." he walks along the deck.
Slycer lets his joviality mask drop. "yeah kid. it was like that. Of course, I was even younger than you are now, but that's exactly how it felt. I was 4 and I thought the whole world was coming to an end."
Krystal, they are truly monsterous biofreaks, and most of them are talking about the captain in a rather negative fashion. From their rank badges, you note that they are all enlisted - no officers among them.

Fine time for not an officer to be around to see this! She thinks to herself with a sigh. She takes a moment to think long and hard if she should say anything to them or go report them to someone. Playing the smarter part she does start to walk away from the table listening to her brain.

Balus shook his head. " The worst was these Vulpins or whatever they call themselves couldn't do anything to fight back. At least some of us changed and were able to, even if that is the only good thing that come out of being turned into monsters."

Fegh nods at the Captain, "Aye sir," he says before turning back to his displays.

Balus sees Krystal emerge from the mess hall. Slycer slaps him on the back. "I'm just going to hang back a bit, maybe grab a bite from the mess." He winks.
Fegh, you're detecting signs of an inhabited system up ahead.

"All right. You can catch up later." Balus smiled as he saw Krystal and approached, his smile fading as he saw the look on her face," Is something wrong?"
