(Coop) "It's not a bribe. It's the new reality, sweetheart." She says calmly. "There has always been more at play then your guild or politics. Think beyond that. Think of the criminal element. Think of you and me at this table, we can put an end to every crime syndicate in the city, honey." She says. "Even in your wildest dreams, with the Decree Slayer in town, you could never hope to do that. With the Guildmaster always pushing you against demons, or poor folks like me." She finishes with an enticing puppy-dog-eyed pout. "But my people can do it."
She leans back indicating Coop should look in the envelope. "It's not poisoned, silly."
(Bianca) Her work took her to the biography section of the archive. Where to start, though?

Coop was a bit confused as he picked up the envelope. He opened the end and let it's contents slip out to his hand. " So let me get this straight, you want me to turn a blind eye to a little bloodsucking in favor of you going vigilante? Am I understanding this right?"

Inside are pictures of a bunch of older men, looking mob-bossy. In their family homes.
"Oh, Sweetie." She says, pityingly. "Don't you get it... with Sarah gone, you can't stop us, really. I just don't want to see you... or your friends get hurt with this."

" Your sympathy is touching." Coop mocked, half offended. He glanced at the photos for any recognizable faces before slipping them back in the envelope. " I can see how this benefits the city, but what does the vamps get out of this? I can't see crime bosses being anymore of a threat to you than the Guild is." He did however pick up what she said, and that the vamps saw Sarah as a threat, and kept that in the back of his mind along with the fact that he knew she was still alive.

(Coop) "Oh, you're such a cutie." She says. "You don't need to know why. Just stay out of our way."

" Come on now, I thought this was supposed to be a friendly get together?" Coop replied with a smirk." No need for threats. I even left my stakes and watergun in my other coat as a show of good faith. If I can't stop you, what harm can telling me why you'd go after mobsters do?"

Bianca searched carefully for any reference to Cooper's known or Golayus outside his normal time.
She also checks for anyone who may have imitated a slayer at some point, perhaps a response to knowing their heritage.

(Coop) "We've both seen movies." She says. "And my people are not that foolish. Especially not the Master." She leans forward. "We want to help you help us get rid of all these crime lords Honey. You want crime to go away too, don't you?"
(Bianca) Golayus, as had been tradition for centuries, was chronicled by event, but almost never footnoted. His time, however, did end with him falling off Land's End.
The Cooper's after Golayus's time, seemed to live normal lives. If there was another Decree Slayer, it was not going to be easy to find. News reports, and the chronicals there were, focused, after Golayus's death, on the Lockhearts.
It could be possible there was a descendent of a Golayus, or even a Smith, poking around, but the chronicles did not indicate any of this.

Coop couldn't argue. " No, I can't see where it would hurt. But you said something else on the phone, something about seeing things the truth with my own eyes. Were you talking about this, or did you mean something else?"

(Coop) "The truth." She says to Coop, "Is that the Guild only wants you to see what fulfills their agenda. They don't want you to align with us, no matter how much good we can do. I'm showing you what we can do for you, Honey. THat there's more to the world than just the anti-monster blinders. I mean, you can work Minotaurs, but not my people? Doesn't that seem just a little off?"
(Bianca) In her searchings, she came across a book covered in runes. Said runes glow as she holds it.

" I don't have to worry about Minotaurs wanting to turn me into a chew toy either, do I?" Coop countered. " And don't tell me it doesn't happen because I've had the fangmarks to prove it. Look, I'm not above holding a truce between the guild and the vampires for the good of Goltheria, but it's not just my decision. Let me take your proposal back and when they're done yelling at me for even considering the idea, I'll try to talk reason with them. Can I get back to you with an answer?"

Bianca reads the runes carefully to make sure the book isn't cursed or anything.

(Bianca) Skill rolls! Hooray! Make it challenging... will she understand what the Rune's say?
(Coop) "Oh." She says, sounding disappoineted, in that tone that Coop could make it up to her. "Yeah. If you want to wait. People dieing on the streets... I just don't know how anyone can live their lives knowing that it's going on."

Bianca fondly recalls her favorite runic lessons and poems and attempts to read the book.
O.O.C.:
Bianca can read and write runes, at 88% in fact. Also she would be able to recognize if they are creating a magic effect at +20% because runes are involved - rec magic 40%. Though I have always been confused as what a failed reading roll would imply. If she misreads the cover as "Death to socks" wouldn't she just try to figure it out again?
You can roll the dice programs I have at hand are about as random as a Mp3 shuffle function.

" I didn't say you couldn't start," Coop replied quickly, his hand instinctivly touching hers in reaction to her tone. " I just need the Guild to agree to the truce. I'm all for it, but I'm not the only one involved. I'll do everything I can to push this through, but they're gonna want some assurances that this isn't a set up after what happened to Sarah."
