Tesla nods, "I keep forgetting your chains." He glances at Ora, reconsiders, "What about you Dryzh? Shall we question the townsfolk?"

Bellephoebe returns on Starlighter, lands near her companions who did not enter the town as they are finishing the conversation. She reports on what she found:
"I spotted some small groups of armed riders around the town. North of here a few dozen miles there were signs of a large group, easily an army for this tech level. Signs of as many as a hundred horses. It could be one of those large bandit groups or something, I have no idea since I didn't go far enough to find the force itself".
"As far as going to the village goes, I suppose I wouldn't mind checking it out if we're going to be here a while anyway. I have a number of things I'd expect they wouldn't recognize as potential weapons if push came to shove. I'd imagine they have no concept of what a nanotech based multitool is, never mind what it's capable of. Not to mention two layers of high end armored clothing and a personal force field even if I'd prefer not to waste the batteries on my gear more than nessicary... I'd really prefer to avoid a fight.
If some of you are holding back due to lack of armament, I brought some rather high end dynamite with in case we needed demo gear. I'm not entirely sure how powerful it wil be in this dimension, but tech and explosives seem to work fine. Stash a stick or two of that up your sleeves with a short fuse, and if worse comes to worse you can use it as an unwieldy grenade that will probably take out one of their buildings. I'm not planning on bringing any myself, but if it will make you feel better it's an alternative to being totally defenseless if something was to go wrong."
"That said, my first instinct is still to keep moving, and spend as little time here as possible. I want to get out of this rather uncomfortable dimension as soon as possible. I can understand wanting to help with the animals, but I'd like to keep the risks to a minimum. I brought a few neat toys, but not being able to use magic effectively has rendered me a bit less adventuresome than I usually am".

Tesla smiles, "Dryzh can stash a stick of dynamite or two," he points to his own head, "I've got a trick or two up my sleeve if things get nasty."
"The good news is that while we are here we can gather information and if that army is trouble the townpeople here will probably attack it first. Unless its their army of course..."
As the three of them walk to town Tesla says, "We are hoping to pick up some clues from the townspeople about this place Allen is taking us too. If we can get a rumor or something it should get us out of here all the faster."

Tesla looks of his shoulder, "Are you coming Sapphire?" As they set out towards the town.
Ora says to Romidus, "Well, shall we train with your chains? Or do you wish to accompany me on a hunt?"

Allen came into the stable shortly after the others left. Sitting with a tired grin, he noticed everyone had left. "Did everyone get bored?" He asked. "Also, Ora, you want some snake skins?"

Bellephoebe will show Dyrzh some dynamite and explain how it's used "Basically, you light the fuse and throw it. When the fuse burns down, it explodes rather violently. Assuming you've got something to light it with fairly quickly if the need arises, just hide a stick or two of this on you and you'll at least have something if things go badly. Just be careful not to throw it too close to anything you don't want to blow up. I haven't tested it in this dimension yet, but it should be pretty powerful"
That said Bellephoebe will stash most of her weapons including the remaining 6 sticks of dynamite (assuming she hands 2 to Dryzh and 2 to someone else who wants them, otherwise she'll be stashing 8). She will however be bringing the rest of her gear including the multi-tool (which can be used offensively) and a bulky bundle over her back which holds her as of yet unrevealed multi-rifle (she's guessing even if they spot it they will have no conception of what a gun is, especially given that Naruni ones are kind of boxy looking). She will be leaving her bow and pistol crossbow behind, along with her rod and staff, and won't be packing any of the grenades Daryl sent, but she will be bringing all of her wilks grenades (blinders and beehives) which are rechargable ceramic spheres and don't look much like grenades (being careful about this since they do have grenades in this dimension). She'll also stick six loose plasma cartridges from her ammo boxes into one of her pockets however (so she doesn't have to dig them out of a magazine). They are relatively easy to use for improvised nastiness (it mentions they can for example be punctured with a nail to cause a discharge as one of the traps mentioned under the trap creation skill, and if push comes to shove she could probably find very similar ways of using them in a pinch).
Finally she'll grab a half dozen of the smaller ingots (3 gold, 3 silver) to bring for trade.
More or less set unless someone suggests she leave something behind, or bring something she's putting away with her, she'll say "I'm ready to go when you are".

"Yes, I could use more sandal materials" Ora says, "Though it would be nice to get something that wasn't a snake. Perhaps we can hunt some deer. And if we find a town with more trade, we could get silks."

[Dryzh, Tesla, Bellephobe, (Sapphire?)]
Once they arrive in town they find a more bureaucratic setup than the village. Instead of a market, there is a stall with a single official who oversees trade. He doesn't have many of the wares with him, instead he has six strong runners who go an fetch whatever is needed.
There is a line of women from the town waiting at the stall and runners come and go taking grain as payment and bringing clothing, snake eggs, tools, and fresh berries. Some of the women wear hooded robes, and seem to have scaled skin on their arms and faces. The others wear knee length leather skirts, sun bleached short sleeve shirts and leather vests. All of them wear leather sandals. Jewelry is scarce, and consists mostly of beads and shiny stones strung on leather loops.
While they wait, the women ask them all kinds of questions. Where they are from, how long they will be in town, if they have any children, if they are bringing any animals for trade. With only one trade official, they have a little time to kill before they can be seen.

"Only one good way to find out," Ora responds and she gets up and grabs some boomerangs. "Will you take a cross bow?" Ora asks, looking to Allen and Romidus.

"I'm no archer." Allen says. "But I suspect, outside the city, I can bring Ba'al."
