"The problem is I have no real knowledge on the subject. Just the information my uncle mentioned in his message. I was going to try and do some research, however Janie has offered to do that for me. If I make a big show about leaving the group and going my own way, perhaps the animosity this spirit has towards my family will make his focus shift."

Dylin nods at Tom’s statement and looks at Isamu. “Tom’s right. This team needs to learn to work together. Taking off on your own is only going to get you into trouble.”
Kristian nods at Sierra as he agrees. “He did seem sincere about that.” Glancing over at Sierra, Kristian asks “Do you think the powers that be will go for the deal?”
Ryne shakes his head at Deci as he says “You could have asked, you know.” Ryne continues, “If it had been anyone else, they could have gotten really sick, Deci. You have to remember that for next time.”

Deci debates giving a scientific answer but decides to just leave it as he is correct about the danger and she should have thought better but was trying to do something nice for the group.
"Next time I will actually measure based off the chemistry knowledge I have. Should have thought of it too."

"Very well. However my presence here may increase the focus from the mayor's office. I hope that you both are right. Now we need to see if there is a way to recapture or destroy this spirit. Conventional means will be near useless in this endeavor. We may need to have a discussion with someone who works or has knowledge on the preternatural."

'not sure if the powers higher up will agree, but it's really not that important. i gave my word. just need to get the paperwork started and get him a headstart for the meetup. i think him coming willingly to give answers deserves that much respect.

*she looks back at the restuarant as they move further up the street one last time. then faces forward to continue home, unless something happens to pull her back ...

Ryne forced himself to stand up. " Enough serious talk. I need to lay down. You better put the rest of this in the freezer. And mark the container so no one takes any by mistake." He turned to start up the stairs, and lost his balance, hammering a need down with enough force to crack the step. " Ohhh, this is gonna suck." He muttered.
Dylin held up a finger . " First Isamu, we need to prove that this Zhang is one of the Siang family. and we need a plan how to do it. And there is also the matter of whatever the shapechanger you witnessed in the parking lot encounter the meta called Gremlin last time you went to city hall."

Deci cringes after seeing that, and decides that perhaps he is right. As such she focuses on the slurpee and freezes it into a solid block so using it would not be the easiest thing in the world. Once satisfied that it will pose no danger to anyone she takes it down to the freezer. While on the way she talks to herself. "That is funny. He did not tell me to put it in the sink and melt it down. Must mean he likes it!"
Once downstairs she deposits the drink in there.

'i hope so. either way, i got his family safely out of Wraith's way. at least for now i mean. so, i did make a swimsuit. don't wanna look like a banana or blueberry anymore. might was well show it off ... right?. i can claim its one of those freaky bodysuits the movies use or something .. '

Finishing at the freezer, Deci nearly walked into Avi. " Whoa, sorry. didn't know anyone was down here." He paused," Uh, do you know where Ryne left the keys to my truck? I haven't seen him to ask."
Janie entered the room, half chuckling as she handed a printoff to Dylin. " Sorry," she composed herself," just, well, Ryne's plastered."
"He's what?" Dylin asked calmly, with a hint of amusement. As Janie nodded to confirm it, MacColter chuckled himself. " Well, he'll be out of commision until late tomorrow. Sad that a man his size can't handle his liquor. Well, with what he's been through, he deserves it. You all deserve some downtime for that matter." He looked at the paper. " Umm, Janie, there's nothing on this, except some immigration information and the statistics on his business interests prior to his political career."
"That's all there is. This guy has been in Miami for 50 years and is squeaky clean." Janie said. " even his nephew is clean, except for a few gang related offenses while underage before he immigrated last year. Isamu, I don't see how either of them could be your ghost."
Beth looked at Tom," Are things always like this?"
Mac didn't look convinced, but said nothing as he studied the paper. He smirked at Beth's question.
Jason wasn't buying it," Of course he does. Otherwise I might have found out sooner. Just means I'm a pet and not property." He looked at Alice. " Sorry, I just..., I almost wish he hadn't told me. It was easier living a lie. Come on, the worst he can do is say no, right?"
Kristian smirked," Good idea. Tell you what, I'll get us something to eat while you fill in the others, okay?"
