"Some do, yes." Tom answers in a low sad tone.

*Sierra sighs once and rolls her eyes at the ceiling. 'mom? could we dispense with the terrible manners i possess in not keeping in touch? i'm caling about routes and who might be near them. yeah from the old days.

'i know that Conrad and Willima have been nagging about me to you. i didn't loan them money. i sent the family portion to you and dad. they figured they needed a new fancy car to trawl for girls on the strip. they wanted me to co-sign, i didn't.

'but i'm in front of a friend and airing dirty laundry in front of him, can we move past that? i'll arrange a visit with you and dad soon as possible. so can you help with the old ties? i know you're beside the computer cause i can hear you tapping ... '

*she faceplants her palm while waiting for the flurry of denials about her brothers taking money and putting her in a bad light. the fact that they want to be similar to a dynamic duo of male testosterone doesn't help the family at this time. she looks up at Arc and states 'sorry you have to hear my side of the conversation. then crosses her eyes as she prepares to hear what her mother says now

[Mierin]

Alice blinks at Avi's tone as she mumbles, "I'm going, jeez." Looking at Jason, she says "I'll see you later." Taking the papers with her, Alice then leaves to find MacCoulter. Once she's found him, she asks him, "Can I talk to you for a minute please, in private?"

[dakota]

Arc was clearly amused as he drank his coffee.

With a huff, Sierra's mother replied," Fine Sierra. I don't want to fight, I'll check. Where was that again? You know for that matter you could at least tell your mother where you are, maybe we'll be nearby sometime." They could hear the hammering of a keyboard.

Beth was very puzzled now," Tom? Why are you getting upset? I'm the one trying to cope with my life turned inside out by a guy who I actually find..." she stopped, blushing.

Dmitri looked up from behind the kitchen island and the veggies he was cutting," Umm, did you want me to leave?"

Alice found Dylin with Janie in the control room. "I'll go, wanted to see where Dmitri is with my snack."

Once Janie left, Dylin took a sip of his coffee, his brow knit," Of course Alice. I"m here to help as much as I can. What would you like?"

[Dome]

Isamu leaves Ashley and makes his way through the house towards the control room. Not knowing there is a private conversation going on, he walks in and says, "Dylin, Alice, how is Jason."

Tom looks up. "It's just that...well, I first got my powers after..." he makes a motion to the chair he's in. "so it's not a subject I'm crazy about discussing. At all." He looks at Dmitri. "No Dmitri. Actually, I was just looking for someone to help me explain to Beth everything that's going on here. Someone who's been here longer than the five minutes I have, anyway."

Deci turns to Ryne "No, but I thing that is my primary. I also heal and fly." She to takes a sip of her drink making a face at it. "How come Slurpees always taste better in the store. I guess I have to work on that. Still it is really good." She continues to slurp down the drink.

[Mierin]

Alice sighs to herself as Isamu barges into their conversation without even pausing to take stock of the situation. Forcing a polite smile on her face, she replies "He is fine, thank you for asking. The surgery was successful and he should be back on his feet in no time." After a moment, she then asks "Could you please give us a moment? I need to talk to Dylin in private about a personal matter."

Sierra is scarlet as the conversation continues. a calm breath settles her nerves so she sounds 'normal'. she repeats the location again and looks from Kristian to Arc then shakes her head a bit before speaking.

'i'll call you tonight and we'll have a longer talk mom. just my friend's family is in trouble and stuck and need to get to meet up with him. my car died so i can't zip out there, but i can get one from another friend and get them together once i know what group and direction. i really appreciate this mom'

*the only sign of nervousness is her leg. with one heel raised, its the one doing the bouncing. almost like muscle over exhersion, but for her it seems to drain her tension

[Dome]

Isamu realizing his error says, "That is good news about Jason. I am very sorry for interrupting. Please forgive my transgression."

Isamu then backs out of the room closing the door behind him. He then heads down the hall a ways so as to give them more privacy. Anyone who approaches he will explain the situation.

[dakota]

"That car of yours shouldn't have made it out of the parking lot." Sierra's mother scoffed. " So we don't have anyone near there, but Gene and Liz Stansburne are on their way to meet up in Reno and should going through that area around supper time. Is that soon enough? I can get them to detour, if that's good enough?" There was a pause," I'd love to talk to you after tonight's preformance."

Dmitri looked at Tom, and appeared to be considering escape, but instead he replied," Ryne would be the best one to explain. I think he's down on the beach." He looked at Beth and shrugged." Aren't you a reporter?"

"This is strictly off the record." Beth replied. " I swear no story will come from me about any of you. At least nothing personal."


"Good enough. The best I can offer you is this city has become a cesspool and the powers that be have recruited us, some more willing than others," he smirked at Tom," to help clean it up. You've heard of the Sentinels of Liberty and Justice?"

Beth nodded," Of course. who hasn't?"

"Well, we're sort of their bratty little cousins, just getting our feet wet"

Beth went wide eyed in disbeleif, then looked at Tom.

"Because in the store they don't have too much alcohol in them." Ryne smirked as he drank some more," Not that this isn't really good. Yeah, knew about the flying part, but not the healing. Just yourself, or others too? Either way it's a handy ability to have."

Isamu found Janie in the hall, As she listened, it was clear she wasn't sure if she beleived Isamu or not. " I'll do some digging in the computers to see what I can find, Isamu. " She teased," Any more chinese demons hiding in your closent we have to worry about?"

Once Isamu left, Dylin poured himself a glass of water. " So, judging by the way you chased Isamu out of the room, I guessing you have something serious to discuss with me? If this is about Jason, no, I haven't figured out the correct way to tell him the truth."

Tom shrugs. "Yeah, I'm still trying to figure this whole operation out. Thanks Dmitri, we'll go talk to Ryne."

[Mierin]

Once Isamu is gone, Alice shakes her head at Dylin indicating that isn't what she wanted to talk about. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she attempts to scan Dylin's mind as she asks, trying to sound casual "How long have you had the ability to put someone to sleep without having to use anything?"

[sasqaricious]

"It just seems to be myself but seems to act really, really quickly though. Also the cold control, which seems to be complete mastery over it. Does not seem to expand fully into ice but I can create stuff with ice. Like a slide and all that nice stuff but my flight is much faster and grants me more freedom then the slide." She says just before she takes another sip of her 'slurpee'

"I also have this neat ability that I do not eat or need to take in liquids. This also seems to have the effect of me not requiring oxygen any more to live. Even tested that theory when I was down there by going in the ocean and exploring as there seems to be no limit to how deep I can go now either. Also from what I have observed under a microscope my cells do not react the same way to things but could not fully test that!"

'that car got me to Miami though mom. but yeah, if they could grab them on their way through .. i'll get things started on my end. mom? what do you mean by performance? you got the small company going for birthday parties and stuff?'

*she's a little confused as to how things got that far off base with her family. she wonders if she still needs to send money. 'Reno huh? .. k. got it. thanks mom. until tonight about 9 pm?'

*she hopes she's lived up to her end of the bargain. she looks at Arc with a raised eyebrow as her mom finishes. covering hte mouthpiece with her hand she asks simply 'is that good enough to get the answers i need? best protection i can come up with at the drop of a hat. might even beat Wraith's goons if he sends any that way. never know what that guy's thinking ... '

*she sips her coffee as she scans her range. she sincerely hopes to NOT encounter mister creepy in her meta-radar range, but who's to say. if she senses any out there her first instinct will be 'has she sensed them before?' 'are they a threat to her getting answers?'
