Ch. 56 Track Down (all)

*Sierra laughs at his last comment about the wall. 'he's there now. guess we're on time then. don't really sense anyone else .. yet, but i did think it was odd that i felt so ... better warn the house that there may be someone lurking about. i didn't get a good enough read on him. he or it made my readings fuzzy. odd that it happened after we brought Ragnarok in huh? .. '

*that said she contnues on to the shop and gives Kristian a peck on the check. she waits for him to catch up and enters with him. she nods at Arc 'uhh .. i'll try one of their .. uhh surprise me coffee's then .. i'll get started .. '

*she slides into one of the chairs opposite Arc 'hey. haven't done this before, but what can you tell me of his plans and where he stores them once he's grabbed one off the streets. other than K, no one followed us'

"No, I didn't mean right now, Deci. I'm content to sit and talk." Ryne chuckled. He considered the ice chair, but rejected the idea," I'll stay here. Don't need my tail frozen.."


Beth nodded, then she looked as though have a revelation. " You're one of them, aren't you? The mutants the other reporters write about." She took a half step back, out of fear judging by expressions.


Jason was releived. " Go find and ask him. I'd go but I don't think that will go over well." He grinned.

Avi appeared in the doorway, looking at Jason sternly," You're not going anywheres."

Jason looked at Alice and shook his head," No bedside manner at all."

"I treat all my patients how they treat me," Avi replied," and since you're a jerk most of the time..." he let it trail off with a smirk.

Arc studied Sierra for a moment, then Kristian as he sat down with a pair of coffees and a couple muffins. He smiled, which had a predatory look to it," You don't expect much right off the bat, do you? Let's get something out of the way first. I was retired, walked away from this sort of life and started a family and hadn't looked back. I need some securities that I'll be able to go back to that once this is over. Then I'll answer your questions. You make arrangements to get my wife and little girl into protective custody first."

"Suit yourself. Just figured is super hot day and a means of cooling off I imagine is nice." She takes another sip of the beer to make sure she nurses it slowly. Having nothing really to say she sits in her ice chair and relaxes taking it all in. "You know what would be awesome right now for this heat. A slurpee like drink!" She then goes back to the silence that she thinks Ryne is primarily enjoying!

'family is important. retirement is wonderful, and trust me, i will not call you back. i might inquire about a few things but never back to work. retired is that, retired'

*she sips her coffee* 'names and location of your family then?' she speaks quietly. 'do you have a phrase of trust with them? so getting them to safety is not hampered by random yellings for help?' *she looks up at him* 'yeah i watches a few movies where a phrase is needed to get them to trust total strangers for safety and it wasn't used until it was too late .. can't recall it now'

'depending where they live will be the issue. i can get them out of town if they trust me. i'm sure a train line goes by or is near. just need to get the time schedule and cross reference with sites .. but i'm sure i can get them out first then transfered to a safehouse. for the sake of family ties' *she takes another sip and nibbles on the muffin this time. she hopes she's doing this the right way

Tom's expression is pained as he looks at the fear in Beth's eyes. "I'm...not sure to be honest."

[dakota]

Ashley read the note, then sat up as Isamu spoke. She was no longer as run down," Are you serious? Isamu, this spirit guy would come after you because of something that happened hundreds of years ago? We better talk to the others before this Zoo Zang shows up on the doorstep." She mangled the name pronounciation, but was clear what she meant as she started to get up.


"What do you mean, you're not sure?" Beth seemed even more confused, but her retreat halted. " That's sort of a cut and dry answer, isn't it?"


Ryne couldn't help but chuckle. " A slurpee? I haven't had one of those in..., well, since I was your age or younger." He took a long drink from his beer. " Kinda refreshing to be around others like you and Sierra again, who don't hide what they are thinking and speak their mind. My old team tiptoed too much."


Arc looked at Sierra, measuring her, "You're serious, aren't you girl?" He scribbled down an address halfway acrossed the country. " It's out in the country, so no towns to worry about. No code words or anything, but she'll beleive you if you call my daughter Ariel, it's the name I wanted to call her instead of Angela. You see they are safe and I'll give you everything you need on Wraith."

Kristian was listening, but it was clear he was letting Sierra handle things.

"Why would I hide who I am or what I think. My Daddy taught me that actually. The only reason I would even think of using a secret identity is because I fear for my fathers safety. Although I imagine he would not care in the least because of who he is.

"Maybe we should head out and get some alcohol and stuff and make something for the rest of the group. Actually might be fun to do such. You know I am going to do it!" With that she gets up and is about to head out to the store before it dawns on her that she is not old enough to go to the liquor store. Instead she heads into the house to find the liquor cabinet to see what she can do.

She grabs that which she can find in the cabinet and grabs a bottle of vodka before heading to the kitchen. She then searches for a the blender and either soda or juice. She starts by pouring the mix (She would prefer a very strong fruit punch but will also accept pop) into ice trays and then freezing it solic and emptying it into the blender. She repeats until all the vodka is gone and most of the mix. It is at this point she blends it together and pours it into a bowl as it was crushed. There is definitely enough for now and the group and she heads back out to the deck with it and a couple glasses.

Once out she refreezes her chair and makes a table putting the bowl on it. "There we go and the best thing is that any ice I create that stays near me will not melt so, it is like perma slurpee's"

"Not really. I have...abilities, yes. But I'm not sure just what I am because of when it started." Tom tries to answer, clearly uncomfortable with the subject.

'gimme your phone K. i need to call mom. she'll know the schedules'

*she dials as she takes another sip and looks at Arc 'best i can do is get the info of who's nearby and when to get them and whisk them away and then meet up with them again. timings the thing. would 'HE' have them watched to make you behave? would it matter where you relocated too?' *she listens to the ringing and hopes their home or have a machine. she can only hope her connections to the small 'family' circuses will aid in getting that family out of possible danger and nearer to another town for alternate rescue and relocation.

'still ringing ... ' *so Arc knows that she isn't bluffing. Arc might notice the tip of her ear showing as she holds the phone, then she shifts and its hidden away. yes this girl knows how to 'hide' her strangeness, but is it only the ears? she uses her pen to write a number down on a napkin and slides pen and napkin to him. 'you can reach me here ... '

'Mom .. hey its me .. need your help. who's near *town* now? how soon and stuff .. yeah i know .. i'll wait'

[Dome]

Isamu places his hand on her chest and gently yet firmly pushes her back down, "you are not going anywhere my love. You need your rest. Today has been a very long day for you. Even in the spirit realm it will take him time to cross to this side of the globe. We have time to prepare, and you have time to rest."

He offers her a concerned smile. "Please rest. I will do some research and then alert the others."

" All right." Ashley said, not fighting Isamu. " But promise me you'll at least talk to Alice and MacColter. This affects us all, not just you, and me." She grinned slightly as she added the last part

"Sierra?" Si's mom answered in suprise," I haven't heard from you in two weeks, and all I get is I need your help?

Arc chuckled, obviously able to hear the reply.

Beth was obviously scared. "What do you mean? Tom, you're not making any sense. what is this place, and how did I get here from wherever that russian guy had me held hostage? He.., he made it sound like I was bait or something."

Ryne looked at the concoction. He raised his brow, looked at his half finished beer, and shrugged," Why not." He helped himself to some of the slush. " you know you could make alot of money at parties doing stuff like this."

"Honestly Beth, I'm trying to figure it all out myself. Come inside and I'm sure someone can help explain it." Tom replies.

[sasqaricious]

"Probably. But then I would probably not have any free time for doing this. And I do not mean making drinks but trying to do superheroey stuff! We should invite some of the other to join in as I think I made enough for most people here?" She then scoops a glass herself. "Dang I forgot straws and am not sure if there are any here. I mean no problem for me but if you know where there are more?" She then uses her powers to fashion a straw and takes a sip of the drink!

[Dome]

Isamu smiles and leans down kissing Ashley quickly. He says, "I will be sure to talk to them once I know more about the threat. You rest for now, I will come and check on you soon. Do you need anything now?"

[dakota]

" Nothing I have the energy for." Ashley smiled. " Go, I'll be fine."


Hesitantly, Beth nodded and followed Tom. "Are your friends from the ship... do they have powers too?"



"Alice," Avi said in a fairly commanding tone, "Out, he needs to rest. Jason will be able to walk once I finish this time, but that's it. Just walk a bit."


Ryne merely shook his head. " If the others want some, they can come get it. Now relax a little, will you? So, " he slurped some of the shush,"are all your powers cold based?"
