" I can get it. You check on the engineers." she grinned. Persistant, aren't yu? Fine, we can try to find time to see each other when we aren't on duty. Although technically I'm always on duty, or at least on call."

"You and me both," he says before turning for the door. Stopping briefly he turns and says, "hey MJ, I'm really glad your ok."
He turns and quickly heads for Xavier's engine. Walking in he knocks on the bulkhead, "hey Xavier you in here buddy?"

Xavier perks up from whatever he was currently familiarizing himself with. "Yes I am in here, and you are?"

"Hey man, I'm the pilot, Flip, remember? We met in the bar back at Carson," Foreman says shaking his head. "I've been calling over the comms, haven't you heard," he asks as he walks over the comms unit to check if it is working.

Meanwhile, outside, unbeknownst to all the selfmade drama in ship, as McKenna, apparantly, got a mop, and the ship was being prepped, Tawfeek pulls open a big smile.
"Hi!" He says, following Jessica's instruction. "Welcome to the Galaxy." The first pair looked at them, and then beheld the large craft.
"Uhhh... Sure?" Said the male of the pair, a Mr. Johnson, by the file.
Mrs. Johnson looked at the ship herself. "Oh. it's so provincial!" She says. "Like the old days of early space travel."
"She likes to romanticize this." Said Mr. Johnson, before Tawfeek could vouch for the quality of ship. "But, it is kind of... kitzche."
"Well." Tawfeek says. "Then you'll love the sheets. We'll wait here, since the weather is nice, for everyone and we can go aboard as a group."
And, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, after politely nodding at Jessica, go and wait on a hastily-provided bench.

Jessica smiles in a friendly manner at Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as she says "Welcome to the ship. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask."

Turns to flip, "My apologies as I was doing some adjustments down here to make sure all is cool. Still familiarizing myself with ship systems and all that nice stuff. But either way I digress, you were looking for me for something?"

"Its ok, but next time, if someone calls you better answer. If it had been the Captain, there'd be hell to pay. So, how long before we can power up your engine?"

"Should be anytime." Xavier says glancing at the engines.

"Ok sounds good," he points at the comm unit, "I'll call you from the bridge once I get back."
Foreman turns and heads over to Mensk's engine. Knocking on the bulkhead as he walks through he says, "Mensk you hear?"

Following Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, was a man in a very crsip suit, and dark sunglasses, carrying no personal baggage. "Hello Captain Tawfeek." He said, the words flowing off his tongue like molasses.
"Ah, Mr. Smith." Tawfeek said. "Yes, you have a room to yourself, as requested."
"Very well." Smith said. And he took his place with the JOhnsons.
Third came a family of two parents and two young children. The kids were bustling, but trying to at least pretend to try and behave, if only for their parents sake. Cause, you know, oh man! They're going to MARS!
"Hello Captain Tawfeek." Said the father. "I'M Bob, This is Marie, and these..." He tried to crale his kids. "These are Joan and Eric."
"See, Eric?" Joan said, sounding precotious and smug. "I told you that women are spacemen, too." She explained, pointing to Jessica.
"Oh, she's just a helper." Eric retored.
"Nuh-uh!" Joan said.
"Kids!" Marie said, the two falling back in line. "I'm sorry, they're very excited."
"It's OK Mrs. Jolie." Tawfeek said. "And, kids, so that you know, Miss Stephenns, here, is very important on my ship." Leaning closer, he says, "She keeps the pirates away with nothing more than her pinky" The kids looked at Jessica and gasp. "And you don't want to be mean to her, got it?" The pair nod, still staring.
The Johnsons thought this was all adorable, by the way.
Last came two men and two women. Like a group of friends. "Helloh." Says one, with a European accent. "Ve are ze Von Donnigan Party. Ve hope ve are noht layte."
"No sir, Mr. Von Donnigan." Tawfeek says. "You're right one time."
Clapping his hands to get everyone's attention, he says, "Alright! Everyone, we're going to head abord the ship, but before we get aboard, I need to explain a few things. First, we have rooms set aside for you, and a common room. Second, except for the Galley, the rest of the ship is off limits, for your own safety. Third, for anything else, please see my First mate, Jessica Stephens."
The group of passengers all nod their understanding, and then follow Tawfeek and Stephens onto the ship, to the very last one. Inside, they passed McKenna, cleaning up the floors, and through into the guest berths. "Alright." Tawfeek says. "These are your rooms. Get settled in. We will be taking off in an hour."
He nods to Jessica to make sure they're all settled.
Not soon after he leaves, Joan and Eric had besieged her. "Is it true? You fight pirates?"
-----
Meanwhile, on the comm, Foremand and Mensk and Xavier and McKenna hear on the comm. "Foreman? Why aren't you on the bridge? And MCKenna, why is your blood all over hydroponics?" Secretly, he wondered if maybe these things were related.

Foreman hangs his head. Walking towards the Comm unit he presses the button. "Sorry Captain, having some miscommunication problems between the bridge and engineering, just came down to check things out, I'll be up in a moment."
Foreman slams his hand down on the comm turning it off, and says to the engine room, "Damn it Mensk now the Captain is going to be on my back, where are you?"

going to the engine on the other side of the ship... (to reiterate a frustrating oversite in the design), each of the ship's nacelles has an engine controll room, meaning the Galaxy has two engineering sections. Mensk was in the Starboard one, usually, and Xavier's post was in the Port one. Hence the two, while both doing the same job, don't exactly overlap.
So, as Foreman enters Mensk's post, he sees Mensk running the final diagnostics, as his engine was ready for lift off.

Seeing Mensk and that the engines are ready he says, "I guess everything is green. Remember to keep an ear out for the comms Mensk."
Foreman heads out of that engine, and back to the cockpit, hoping beyond hope the Captain isn't there waiting for him.

Jessica chuckles quietly at Tawfeek's descriptions and holds up a pinky finger with a smile, winking playfully at the two kids as they stare at her.
Following the group as Tawfeek shows them to their rooms, she nods with a smile. "Of course." Once Tawfeek leaves, she addresses the grownups, nodding. "If there's anything you need, let me know." Grinning she nod at the kids as she says "It's true." Pretending she has a sword in hand, she does a couple of sword parries, showing that while her speciality is firearms, she had some skill with a sword as well. "Pirates don't stand a chance!" she tells the two kids with a smile.
