CH 16: Moving on... (Mai and Kendall)

"Oh, is everything ok. I mean I can go with you if it is something you need. I mean I have my car downstairs as a percaution of you maybe not being able to drive?" She looks at him with concern.

[Dome]

"I'll be fine. Just some tweaking, maybe an upgrade or two. As much as I would like your company and the chance to to spend more time with you, I don't want you anywhere near these people. They want something from me, and I'm still not sure what."

[sasqaricious]

"I am not sure what they want either. If you really think I should stay instead of go with you then so be it though. I would feel better if I could offer assistance but no you will prolly stick to what you want." She proffers a smile. "Besides you helped me in my time of need so will listed to what you want!"

[Dome]

"Wow, I'm honored you think I know what I want," Kendall says with a chuckle. "Days ago, I would have told you I just wanted to be left alone and to be a normal guy again. Now, I have a chance to be with a beautiful girl that for some reason actually likes me, and instead I'm heading out to get poked and prodded by doctors. I don't know what I want."

Kendall pauses and looks around, "for some reason I want you around, but I don't want to put you in harms way, and I sure as sh*t don't want to ruin your chances to reach your dreams."

Mei actually swoons a bit at how much this guy seems to care for her. No one else has ever said that type of thing to her, and on top of it he calls her beautiful.

"Dreams are what you make of them. As one grows the dreams change, what is now may not be tomorrow. Heck I almost thought that if I quit the show and go for next year if that would give Daveris the chance to get in." She realizes that someone around might here her and maybe answer but she is not holding her breath.

"As a bonus all my stuff I have is packed already so I just have to wait until you are done, check out and grab my car. If you do not have one mine is a VW bug. She is my baby!"

[Dome]

"Well I just need to shut down for today, now that the shows done. I'll probably have to come back tomorrow for tear down. Why don't you check with a producer and tell him you'll be reachable here," Kendall retrieves a business card, and rights his home address and home number on the back.

"Then maybe we should go check on Dev before we go. I know she said she wanted to be alone, but she could still probably use some company."

[sasqaricious]

"I have a feeling she does not want to see us right now. I mean I am not even sure how to get a hold of her as it was just us going to her place. So I do not know what to do. I mean it is something we should do. I am just hoping she calls us." And with that Mei quickly jumps up and takes the card to one of the producers so they know hos to get a hold of her.

She also runs to the hotel and grabs her stuff so she can leave easily and heads back to the engineering station.

[Dome]

When Mei takes off to run her errands, Kendall starts shutting down the equipment. He finds one of the producers and asks what they wanted done to have things taken down and moved to the next location.

By the time Mei gets back, Kendall has established that a group of roadies will be taking this apart, but that the producer wants him at the new location, the Gillespie theatre in Silver City, in two days to get started on the uplinks.

Once the producer's gone, Mei gets back, with all her stuff set to go.

Mei, for her part, got the information for the next hotel she was going to stay at (they know she's an out-of-towner, so she can check in any time, if she needs it). Getting her self checked out and ready to go didn't take too much time, and by the time she was back to see Kendall, he was already done with the producer...

Leaving them ready to go to Kendall's place.

[Dome]

"Well looks like we have two days. Since you have your car, and I have my work truck, why don't you follow me to my place," Kendall says to Mei, "Unless you want to just stay at the hotel they are providing."

He reaches out and picks up Meis luggage with one hand.

"It is up to you for the most part. I mean I really do not want to impose at all on you, but to be honest you and Daveris are the only people in town that I know. Like I said, if it is ok with you I will just be crashing on your couch. If not I will head to the hotel." She looks up with her eyes hoping that he will not mind and also that she is not being to imposing.

[Dome]

Kendall drops her bags walk up to her and puts his arm around her up to him and slightly off the ground, "I thought we worked this out already. I get the couch, you get the bedroom. Now lets go."

He lets her go back to her feet, and then he grabs up her bags again, "lead me to your chariot, then you can drive me to mine."

"OK" Is all she says as she leads Peter to her VW bug. It is a mint condition superbug black in colour.

"This is betty, my baby. Bought it off a VW fan who was selling it. It's original engine was pulled out and some nicer things were put in. Like my MP3 jack, bigger engine, and the likes." You can tell she is actually really proud of her little car.

She will drive Peter to wherever he directs her.

[Dome]

Kendall looks at the little car and says, "hmm, its very nice, but maybe I should walk to my car. I might be a little heavy for that vehicle. I'll go get my truck, and drive by here, then you can follow me."

He helps her load her bags, then walks towards his vehicle, unless she stops him.

"No, no it is ok. The man who did these vehicles was a lover of VW's but not a man of small girth. He upgraded the suspension as well to handle his weight. But if you really do not want to risk it that is ok."
